First visit with my wife, service was excellent, waitress was kind and very helpful. The food was served at a respectable time and hot.I will highly recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends.
Food was flavourful and my steak was tender. I thought the sides and apps were underwhelming. I had the Waldorf Wedge salad which was covered in creamy dressing, etc. But the lettuce used was massive so you got a heavily dressed first few bites and then wound up being left with a lot of “dry” lettuce. Second, their Truffle Scalloped Potatoes were buried under a thick layer of cheese, but once you got through that, the potatoes and sauce were fantastic.
I was dissatisfied with my steak (NY Strip). I asked for medium rare and I thought it was cooked properly but the inside seemed more greyish than pink - a
One friend had allergies. Both server and manager were super helpful making recommendations and explaining her choices.
Steak bites appetizer will make you a meat lover!!
One of the best patio hangouts in Vaughan, especially during sunset.
The ambience was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed being on the patio with amazing weather. The options for food was great and we really enjoyed the escargot and the side of mushrooms were delicious. My steak was a bit underdone and had sinew. But not so much that a complaint was warranted. The only negative was that my food was not served hot. The king crab was room temp and the steak was barely warm. All delicious however, but imagine how good it would have been if it were served at the correct temperature.
Tuna salad is salty and the tuna has no flavour. I’m sure the steak would have been a better choice
We have been to this location several times and it is always great. This time my mom found a long hair in one piece of a steak bite. It was awful, but the restaurant apologized and took that appetizer off our bill at the end of the meal (after we made this request). That issue appeared to have come from the restaurant's supplier and we got a dessert for our birthday person
The server was great and friendly and the manager ensured that were no food allergens for the birthday guy.
Upon arrival, our table had to be seaparated from a larger grouping. This was done after we were escorted to the table and made to wait for it to be set up. The carpet under and around us was dirty and covered in food debris. Not an appetizing sight. A quick sweep up after the last party was definitely in order.
I ordered my steak medium rare and it arrived over cooked. I wasn’t offered any options for my baked potato. It came luke warm, tough and dressed with chives, bacon bits and sour cream. Not my usual choice.
My partner ordered the lobster linguini. For $27, the dish should have come with a lot more lobster. We counted about 5 small pieces.
Halfway through dinner I received an email from Open Table advising I was a no show for my reservation. I guess the hostess missed this too.
This was our first visit at this restaurant. For a competitor at the mid level steak house segment, and at the prices charged I’d say I was disappointed on a few levels.
Went to celebrate a family birthday with 16 people. Had reservations @ 2pm on a Sunday.
Service was great. Food was fantastic.
Will visit again
I found it a little over priced for the quality of the food.
Food was good but disappointed waitress did not tell me that my substitution would cost 3.50. She asked if I was ok with the 2 sides being offered and I asked if I could get a salad instead. She made it seem like that was not a problem at all but didn’t mention there would be an extra charge for that. My bill informed me of that.😡
Large beautifully decorated restaurant and pleasant hospitality. The food was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. I couldn't have had a better meal and was worth every penny. The service was friendly and didn't have to wait too long for the food even though it was a packed house. I am excited to return and spread the word of this fabulous restaurant.
Food was amazing & service was great!
I must say that chop hit the nail on the head once again. What an amazing experience with my family. The food was fantastic as usual. Our server Guillianno was amazing. Once he took our order I said to him I don’t mind waiting an extra 5-10 minutes for my food. As long as it’s piping hot. He absolutely delivered what I asked. Amazing hot food, not like warm that you would get at other places. This location will be ours to go to for long time. Compliments to all the chefs for an amazing meal. Our server guillianno for great service and awesome experience. He took care of our needs from start to finish. Kudos to Guillianno. Keep up the great work. Once again to chop. Thank you for a great experience.
Food was not good. Has been much better
So I brought a friend for their birthday because they love steak. We were not disappointed. The food was great, the drinks were great, the staff were super friendly and we will definitely be back again!
We were excited to try Chop Steakhouse & Bar for my husband's birthday, with his family. It was a Friday night, and I had made the reservation in advance. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively, the surroundings felt quite luxurious, and the acoustics in the place made it ideal for conversation. The service was very good, and the seating options had tables with large booths to accommodate our party of 6 comfortably. With regards to the food, the presentation was standard, portions were decent and the timing of service was reasonable. The most notable item that everyone seemed to love, was the seasonal lobster mashed potato upgrade, which was unique and tasty. The garden and Caesar salads were fine, but other than that, overall, the food was good, but overly salty. This was the case for the French Onion Soup, Prime Rib, Filet Mignon and its sauce. Aside from the excess salt, the largest drawback was the cost. Although it's expected that steakhouses are pricey, our meal here was very expensive and the value just didn't seem worthwhile that we'd return. After tax and tip, our bill was about $370 for 6 people, and that included only 2 alcoholic drinks.
food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the wait staff were phenomenal.
Harman the waiter was outstanding service food was to die for
Waiter did a good job in making sure our drinks were full but that’s about it.
Did not clear dishes from appetizers or mains until he brought the bill.
Steak bite appetizer was great.
Chopped salads with steak bites, the steak was cold and over cooked. Exact opposite of the appetizer.
A forgettable and underwhelming experience.
Won’t go back.
Chose Chop for a birthday dinner, it wasn’t very busy (Tuesday night,8pm reservation) our server was also the bartender (forgot his name) was so great. Gave us the perfect amount of attention, had a few conversations with us and made some damn good cocktails. Everything was on point as far a service. Food was good, steak was cooked perfectly but appetizer salad and side veggies were kinda boring/simple. We all had some laughs and an overall great time. Oh and cheesecake was pretty damn good too!
The service was abit slow but the waiter was amazing. Very friendly, funny and attentive. Food was amazing and well priced. Great atmosphere. I will be coming back.
Had an amazing evening with friends at Chop. Love the patio setting.
I think our waitress was learning. They always forget the cutlery.
We came for a late night dinner date. As always, had the best steak of my life! Then the amazing staff helped my boyfriend propose to me! Thank you all so much. It was a total surprise and so romantic. Definitely above and beyond service!
Our waiter Ricardo was very professional and friendly
The (very young) hostess brought my husband and I to a table which was surrounded by families with lots of small children. it was extremely loud and chaotic - not exactly the ambiance we were looking for. We were disappointed but we assumed the restaurant was busy and this was all that was available (even though we had advanced reservations).
On the way to sue the ladies room, I noticed that there is a quiet section in the middle of the restaurant that was very uncrowded and mostly had (empty) tables of two. There were 3 couples seated in that area. Why were we brought to the the loud and chaotic "family" section of the restaurant? I think this was nothing more that inexperience on the hostess's part.
Our waitress was also very young and inexperienced. There were MANY times when we were forgotten about. We sat at the table for a good 45 min before our order was even taken. My husband waited almost 30 minutes for a drink top up. Our dessert took so long that we were about to cancel it and ask to have it removed from the bill because we got tired of sitting there -but it arrived just as we were discussing it.
The waitress was pleasant but again, very young and inexperienced. At one point, she dropped a knife and fork on the floor right beside us, while clearing the table next to ours - she never returned to pick them up. It's the little things .....
I have to be honest and say that the food was very good. We each started with a salad, had steaks and a chicken/rib entree and we each had dessert and coffee. Everything was fresh and tasted great.
Also, I will mention that the restaurant itself is very nice looking and has a great looking patio.
It's really too bad that Chop does not find it necessary to either hire experienced staff or provide adequate training to their inexperienced staff.
I would not eat here again and I also would not recommend this restaurant to anyone because the delicious food is overshadowed by our poor experience.
It was my dad's birthday + retirement celebration and decided to take him to Chop. He wanted steak and this was an amazing place to go to for that. The food was incredibly delicious. The waitress, servers and employees stationed my family in a special VIP dining area and made sure my dad felt important on his special day. I also brought my toddler and you know how challenging kids can be. But the staff did a wonderful job on accommodating my daughter as well. Will definitely go back to Chop in the future :)
Food came out after 45 mins 😞 then it was salty too
Very tasty food, took about 39 mins. Before we were asked about drink order but when our server came he was great.
Well worth the visit. Atmosphere and service were awesome. Food was outstanding.
Always great and consistently good. The staff is great and always on point.
The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was exceptional. I was there with friends and we had a wonderful time. It was just a little loud and we had a hard time hearing each other, but we would definitely go there again.
It was a great experience
Celebrated my parent’s 50th anniversary with a group of 16 people. Staff was amazing from start to finish. GM Amy came to our table as we had several children with peanut and tree nut allergies. Staff from the bar came over to review ingredients for a drink from the bar for one of the adults with an apple allergy. Great experience overall. Server Matt and ? were prompt and courteous with all our requests. Thanks also for my mom and dad’s champagne! Nice touch.
