Came for my birthday.
Had an excellent time. Wonderful table, amazing food and the service...Saidah is awesome. She is an excellent addition to your staff. Please thank her directly for making my birthday meal a great one. As well as the chefs and heck whatever steer provided my meat, bless him too.
Great service, didn’t have to wait long for our food even though it was busy. Food was delicious!
Order steaks well done steaks came as red inside. Ceasar salad over dressed could not eat it.
Best filet mignon ever! Well cooked, very tender and wine sauce... hummm!
My husband and I went to Chop for our anniversary. Didn't wait half a minute to be seated. Our server Roman was great! He was well mannered and very pleasant. Arrived at 430pm, by 545 the music volume had significantly increased. If you're looking for a quiet dinner arrive no later than 4pm. Steak was great! I was a little fearful after reading some of the reviews. Pleased to find that they were not accurate. Really happy with our visit here and will definitely go again!
Very low value for a high priced meal. Below standard food quality, nothing really stands out.
Looked forward to trying this place but is wasn’t really anything special. Food was mediocre and service was subpar. Even though the restaurant was empty we waited a long time for simple thingslike mustard and cheese for our kids meals. Won’t be back. Sad because it’s stunning inside. Could be a great place if it was run better.
Great service from Tasha and perfect table
the service was exceptional ,the food was tasty ,overall we were very impressed
we had put in the notes that it was our anniversary and they brought us two glasses of champagne, great touch
We will be back for sure, thanks for making it a great dinner and memorable night
Everyone went above and beyond with my gluten and dairy allergy. Very much appreciated!
Food and ambience was great just a little expensive
Great overall! Just found food we ordered too salty,
This was our 6th visit to Chop. Our first three visits were fantastic and we recommended this steakhouse to everyone. Our past two were well below whats expected of a pricey meal in a nice steakhouse. Orders were forgotten on visit #4, and visit #5 had our whole meal comped due to poor service, orders not being entered and forgotten, and waiting 55 minutes for our entrees. Due to the very nice manager comping our whole meal (without us even uttering a complaint, so this was very good of the manager), we decided to give chop another try this Friday. The visit started great, but quickly deteriorated with forgotten drinks, incorrect steaks being brought out (we couldn't tell anyone because no one came to see how our meal was), and not seeing our waitress from when our appetizer was brought out to when the bill was brought out. We really liked this restaurant when we first started to go, and have given chance after chance time and time again. But this is not what's expected of a restaurant when you spend $200 on two people. The food is FANTASTIC. But the service just ruins the experience, placing a sour tone on the whole night.
The recommend steak bites were not that good. Sauces were terrible. One was a buffalo style wing sauce. I'm not a food expert but personally I think it was not a good pairing. The mains came out cold. Potatoe mash was gummy. The vegetables were over done. The tomatoe crusted pesto was terrible. The quality of the meat was poor. Ordered the beef sirloin and it was pretty chewy. I will not be returning even with the free appitizer the management offered for us to return again. Disappointed to say the least even after my sister recommend it highly. Personally every time I go the the KEG steakhouse it never disappoints. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but I left feeling upset considering my husband and I don't get out very often with two little ones at home.
Had wanted to try Chop Steakhouse for a long time..I think my expectations may have been too high as I was quite disappointed. Our server was TOO much --I know that its hard to understand but good service isn't about being so loud or in the customers face every few minutes...
I was trying to have a very personal conversation and the waiter was in our face all the time and so loud--- it was crazy.
He also recommended the Haddock --this dish had no flavor what's so ever. The Ahi Tuna my boyfriend order was such a small portion but the heaping pile of lettuce that looked like the CN Tower it was so huge was the main thing on the plate. We spent a good amount a money--ordered a bottle of red wine but did not get what we spent. I don't have this kind of money to throw around espicially at Christmas time so I was disappointed.
It was sad because I really pushed my boyfriend to try this restaurant he didn't want to go but I hyped it up and I was embarrassed..
Not a good experience --sorry.
The overall experience was great , we were a party of 4 , celebrating a birthday dinner the waiter was great , the only complaint I have was the women hostess , the restaurant wasn’t busy we weren’t attended to right away, she made us wait for no reason , she was walking around the restaurant for no reason, the manager had sit us down she wasn’t professional and friendly , when we left she didn’t greet us or say goodbye.
Very good food/service/clean/friendly, lots of parking great food and drink choices, very modern fixtures and very clean and upscale washrooms
Natasha was an amazing waitress.
The bar was not able to access any hockey games.
The potato was too dry
Steak & Wine were great
I had an awsome time great food awsome service will definitely go again :)
I wrote in my comments when requesting the reservation that we were celebrating my husbands birthday. I would have thought the waiter would come out with a cake or something. When we ordered our dessert he brought my husbands dessert on a plate that said “Happy Birthday”.....if I didn’t say anything he wasn’t going to do anything!
We were there this year and had my birthday dinner there and the waiter gave me a card with a free appetizer! This time nothing.....
Also I ordered the steak and asked for medium well and the steak was medium so the waiter took my dish and brought out another steak and by the time my new steak came out my family had finished eating already.....I still had to pay for my steak entree!
Food was not good, order the steak bites as a starter and they were raw, steak was not good quality and cost was significant $350 for 4 (2 kids 2 adults) with no alcohol or dessert. Money would have been better spent at the Keg
I had reservations for 830 which were not ready when I arrived. My date and me sat instead ar a bar table. That areas music was so loud we could not hear each other
My prime rib roast was mostly fattie. Out of respect for me and my date I didnt make a complaint but I would never return to chop. First time and last.
After having an absolute dismal experience at Cagneys Steak and Wine Restaurant in Streetsville, I'm happy to say that this place far exceeded my expectations. In all fairness it's very comparable to the Keg Steakhouse as far as atmosphere is concerned (which is a good, reliable thing). The menu was well thought out and very comprehensive; the perfect amount of options...something for everyone, BUT not too many, which in my opinion allows them to perfect the meals for consistent results every time.
The portions were consistent for the price point; you pay more, you get more.
The quality of the food was excellent and the servers were very knowledgeable about the menu items were willing to make exceptions / alterations to dishes to meet our needs.
I will definitely dine here again.
Great food and great value. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a steak house. A lot of selection and variety
The fillet minion was done perfectly (medium rare). The baked potato was fully loaded, perfect for a cool Fall day. The food was unique but tasty ( onion chips and roasted tomato with pesto). The service was friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for our meal to arrive. The volume level was lower than the Keg so we could have a pleasant conversation with out yelling! We will return again. Next time they need to wrap the fillet minion in bacon. Some Keg steak sauce would work well too!
It was perfect except for the excessively loud music. Otherwise, I would gladly come back for business meetings, and group or functions, but we had to strain to hear our server and each other. Shame, because it was truly incredible in all other areas.
We have been here a few times and everything was very good. The last time the meal was horrible and the service was distracting. It may have been an off night in the kitchen, but I won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Loved every part of our visit to this restaurant! We will be back again for sure :)
Ordered the full rack of ribs with mashed potato and Caesar salad. Best ribs I have had in a very long time, & the mashed potato was incredibly creamy.
This was our 3rd time at restaurant and would not go back. Prior visits were good. Waited over 20 minutes from time we ordered water and drinks to receive them. Waitress was talking with couple behind us almost 15 minutes while we waited for drinks. Appetizers arrived almost 30 minutes after we ordered and were burnt and steaks were over cooked and had to be redone.
Firstly the seating is very tight... had a bunch of guys out for dinner and not comfortable at all. If you are bigger than the skinny man.. stay away.
The steak was just that, nothing special, service sucked, we had to ask for drink refills...
Too bad nice location and the place looks awesome.
Great food. Outstanding service. Would recommend highly.
Consistent in the preparation of their dishes.
First visit with my wife, service was excellent, waitress was kind and very helpful. The food was served at a respectable time and hot.I will highly recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends.
Food was flavourful and my steak was tender. I thought the sides and apps were underwhelming. I had the Waldorf Wedge salad which was covered in creamy dressing, etc. But the lettuce used was massive so you got a heavily dressed first few bites and then wound up being left with a lot of “dry” lettuce. Second, their Truffle Scalloped Potatoes were buried under a thick layer of cheese, but once you got through that, the potatoes and sauce were fantastic.
I was dissatisfied with my steak (NY Strip). I asked for medium rare and I thought it was cooked properly but the inside seemed more greyish than pink - a
One friend had allergies. Both server and manager were super helpful making recommendations and explaining her choices.
Steak bites appetizer will make you a meat lover!!
One of the best patio hangouts in Vaughan, especially during sunset.
The ambience was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed being on the patio with amazing weather. The options for food was great and we really enjoyed the escargot and the side of mushrooms were delicious. My steak was a bit underdone and had sinew. But not so much that a complaint was warranted. The only negative was that my food was not served hot. The king crab was room temp and the steak was barely warm. All delicious however, but imagine how good it would have been if it were served at the correct temperature.
