Server was friendly, although wait time to be greeted by the server was a bit long. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Lamb shanks tender, fall off the bone. Piccata was a hit, as was the bronzino. House Cab a bit sweet. Disappointed that although OpenTable asked if we were celebrating an occasion, and we were celebrating a birthday (and so noted on the rsvp and told the server we were celebrating) Ciao! only offers a candle they will light on a customer purchased dessert. Hey, a dish of ice cream with a candle on the house can't cost THAT much compared to the good will engendered.
My second visit and our meal was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and our booth allowed easy conversation. They have done a great job with the decor and this restaurant was terrific for both visits.
Excellent service and food quality, making reservation with open table is a must :-)
Service/server was outstanding. Recommended ways to have order certain dishes and food came out fast. High backed booths were a nice touch.
A great restaurant for a date. The service was prompt and the food was very good. They have an excellent wine selection. My only qualm with our service was that the waiter's only wine recommendations were three different bottles for $100-120 each. We settled on a $35 Cabernet, and had a good laugh over the bold suggestions.
first time several weeks ago was much better; great waiter (James) but 2 rib-eyes were inedible..One was redone and was ok and the other was just taken off the bill. Two ladies had fish and they'd give it a c+, b-. Very noisy Will try it one more time and will stick with pasta/Italian recipes . Calamari appetizer came out semi-raw; sent it back and came back with 1/2 the amount of calamari ....Hope they improve
The whole meal from the service to food was just “so-so”. I’m was not the worst.... was not the best .... I won’t be rushing back anytime soon!
Our waitress got 3 out of 4 orders wrong (granted, all 3 were for the same thing), and then proceeded to try and explain why she wasn't wrong.
We enjoyed our dinner. First time visiting restaurant. Table of three, different entree's
Will dine again.
Disappointed with quality of food on this visit.
I have to say it was fair / wouldn’t mind trying again but can’t say I was impressed!
Not very impressed. Went out with 2 friends for an Italian meal and decided to try Ciao. The chicken picatta tasted blan and although I like great service, our server continually came back every 2-3 minutes which was overkill in my opinion and disrupted our conversations time and time again. None of us are in a hurry to go back.
Food was very tasty however the kitchen was somewhat slow. The waiter was very attentive.
Need more options for happy hour and bar staff should be able to answer questions. They need more training. And DON’T chew gum!!!!!!!
We had a very enjoyable meal and we were pleasantly surprised that we were able to talk and hear our conversation
The meals came as ordered and were very good.
We will return soon
Wife and I went for dinner, our weekly dining out experience. Food was very good, our server was attentive but not over bearing. We will definitely be going back again.
The only good part of our experience was our waitress. There is no ‘ambiance’. It’s basically tables and chairs. The food was uninspired and awful. My salmon was grilled to the point where it was burned and dry. I do not remember what my husband ordered but I do remember our reaction. It was completely unremarkable. We both wondered what the ‘vision’ was.
This was the 2nd time I went and the 1st time was way better. The bartender doesn't have it down so we got shorter pours, and the drinks took a monstrously long time to arrive. Didn't have the ingredients for a not-very-peculiar cocktail. Garnishes came late, if at all.
The food quality is great so I hope this restaurant can survive until the kinks are ironed out.
The food was great and our server was friendly and helpful.
Ciao has a warm feel, the decor inviting, the food good, healthy pour on drinks and very friendly staff.
Problem-- this venue can be loud so next time, I recommend a booth. The table alongside was 5 and noisy, but, there are now more booths, so shouldn't be a problem.
I'll return.
Staff not very knowledgeable about menu and cooking options
Everything was excellent from the food to the service.
Everything about it was great! So happy to have a restaurant like this close to home.
Great food, very nice atmosphere and great service!
Very good. Great waiter Ahmed. Pleasant venue
growing pains from Ciao. Much like the place in Brighton, two extremes and you felt it at Ciao. But they are not up to par yet. The food was sparse, the silverware not clean and greasy.
We enjoyed the food and service very. We will be back!
The food and service were good
Nice atmosphere for causal dining. The pasta dishes were excellent! Great wait staff!
New great option for the West Bloomfield dining scene
