Cibo Centre St
Our menu is made to share because that’s how we feel food is served best. Out chef combines traditional Italian methods with his own innovation to creative simple, delicious dishes created from the best local ingredients possible.
So come join us! Eat a little, eat a lot, but above all enjoy!
We ordered the arincini which were luke warm and not super tasty or crispy. The calamari was limp but tasted nice, and accoutrements on the plate were very good.
We shared a main, the tagliatelle noodles which were under cooked and not fresh in my mind. I expect fresh homemade noodles from an Italian restaurant and especially when I spend $18 on a dish. The meatballs were just ok but the sauce was tasty.
Overall, it was disappointing and not on par with the 17th Ave location, which is fantastic.
Great pasta night deals on Tuesdays. Gnocchi was delicious!
Service was good, food was bland and uninspiring, expected better from past experiences
I ordered the "slow roasted pork belly with shrimp" and got a lump of cold pork fat and TWO single pieces of shrimp on top of some slimy cold tasteless veggies. It was almost $30. My boyfriend ordered a $20 meatball pizza, expecting authentic Italian wood fired pizza with house made dough and a decent dinner size and was served something that looked like a 6" factory made frozen pizza you might find on a kids menu at Denny's, definitely no meatballs on it. It was shockingly bad. We also ordered "truffle fries" that were overcooked to the point of being grey, then served stone cold, and were charged $15 for those. We ended up paying almost $100 for the worst food we had ever had. Honestly we could have gone over to A&W or Peters and had better food, and I don't even like fast food. The menu, website and atmosphere make it all seem like an upper scale restaurant with real chefs and real Italian food, and it was nothing like that at all.
Amy G was our server. She was very attentive and came by from time to time to make sure that we didn't need anything. Always had a smile on her face.
Great happy hour, great food, great service
This was our first experience dining at this restaurant since it became Cibo. It doesn't even come close to the wonderful food that the former restaurant, Scopa, served. We have no plans for any future visits.
Family dinner prior to going to a Friday night concert. I had the beef shank, the kids had spaghetti with tomato sauce. The beef was a little bit on the tough side but overall quite nice (especially the accompaniments). The kid’s spaghetti and sauce was quite good (the little bit I tried). Dessert was excellent. The bill was a bit on the pricy side but not alarmingly high. Overall we were pleased with the meal. It is a big open room so be prepared for a bit of noise but it wasn’t annoyingly loud. Lots of families in the room, as well as couples and small groups. A nice neighborhood mix.
We came in just before 7pm for our dinner reservation. Host didn't have a table ready and had to clean one out to sit us. Our server had great personality and charm, but not great service. He took our orders then took another table's order. Then had to come back to our table to confirm our orders because apparently he couldn't read his writing. Only then was our food (and the other table's) was rung in. Appies didn't get to us til 7:45. My prosecco didn't arrive until my husband finished his beer. Main course arrived closer to 8:30. Underwhelmed by the food except for the Maiale (pork belly). Nothing else was worth noting. Just wanted to try this place as I see it all the time. There are other Italian restaurants with waaaay better food, service and ambience.
We chose Cibo for a Birthday celebration with friends and were not disappointed. The appetizers we had were delicious and our main course pasta meals were all wonderful.
The service was top notch as well.
Shhhh don’t tell anyone CIBO Centre Street is open for brunch on the weekends, it’s our little secret, it’s not too busy, good food wonderful staff in a place you’d be proud to take out of town company.
Food is amazing (especially the spaghetti), drinks were delish, service was great but those chairs........are mega uncomfortable!!!
Lasagna wasn’t as good as my visit before. Over cooked, cheese dried onto my plate had to peel it off.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Nice neighbourhood spot, most interesting and delicious menu selection. Great weeknight specials reasonably priced. Dined here many times always a great experience! 8D
Nice atmosphere with nice food.
The food was great but since it was Valentines day the service was very slow (2hr +)
Only difference between scopa and the new cibo is the sign. The cheap pasta night is not as advertised not half price and ordered the lasagna which arrived dry and old mentioned to the server who we had to flag down no concern. Stopped going there for these reasons and will not return again.
great food and great service! liz took such great care of us. and as always, the food is consistently good and filling. best happy hour in the city.
The staff and service were excellent. The atmosphere was nice. It had a good vibe. However their chairs are awful. They are metal with zero cushion. We had planned to stay for the whole evening but left right after we ate because we were so uncomfortable which is too bad. I had lasagna and found it to have very little flavour. It was a good portion size however would not order it again. My friend had the truffle fries and calamari and she really liked them. I would try again and order something different but won’t because of the seating.
The waiter does not know the menu well. No recommendation for the best food
A bit of a different feel than the 17th ave location...but it works well! Service was good, food was good--especially at the daily special price
Our go-to neighborhood venue for client meetings, business events, dinner with the family, date night and weekend brunch with friends!
Our server Rachel was great and very friendly. Pizzas were good as usual,
Food was good but not great. I had Merluzo. The cod was good but not great. I have had better in other restaurants many times. The sun dried tomatoes were tasty but the green peas were tasteless. I liked the saffron broth though it made the risotto too wet. I would not order it again. My wife had the lasagna. The edge of the dish served was covered by charred sauce. There was very little cheese. The dish more resembled meat loaf than lasagna. She would not order that dish again. Overall, the price for these dishes was too high for the quality provided. This was our first visit to CIBO, and our last.
Service was great, but the food was just ok.
Very good food for a great price. Very friendly service. We’ll be back!
Enjoyed the evening - great food, wine & service and no rush to leave. I would definitely go back. Also the price is right - love the ideas of having specials everyday of the week. Relaxed environment.
Thank you for a nice relaxing, good priced evening.!
Worst service ever received for a empty restaraunt. Servers standing around the bar chatting while paying no attention to the only two tables in the restaraunt. Had to manually call the server over multiple times.
Clam linguine had too much sand in it. When we paid with a gift card they took off two dollars more than they were supposed to. Pasta is not great. I would only get pizza if I go back there again.
Great place. Nice ambience. And stellar value during happy hour!
Overall a good meal. Really enjoyed the arancini, the Caesar salad and the basil pizza. Wasn’t a fan of the orecchiette especially, just couldn’t taste the squash at all, lost in the olive and the spice of the sausage (which also overwhelmed the lamb). Everything said the pizzas were all $11 but it wasn’t reflected on the bill.
Excellent food & service
We had a great evening out - went on New Years eve and didn't expect much because it is such a busy evening to go out but everything turned out very well- food came out without delay - wine was wonderful and I loved my truffle risotto. Thank you!
Great casual Italian food. It’s consistently good.
Excellent food, choices, service (Amy was our server| and atmosphere. We'll be back for brunch soon!
We were sad to see Scopa go but Cibo has done the location proud but keeping it Italian with all the modern cuisine you expect from Cibo. We didn’t notice the vegan menu like Via Cibo has bit as a vegetarian it had lots to offer. Our carnivores were also very happy with their meals. We went at Xmas and it was beautifully decorated.
We typically frequent the 17th Avenue location as such expected the same quality of food & atmosphere but we were disappointed as it certainly did not taste the same. The crust on pizza was different. My preschooler said he needed fresh cheese and pizza is his favorite food. He's quite particular but beyond that the entire group of 5 shared his sentiments. We will return to our usual location next time. That being said, our server was very hospitable and we appreciated that!
Service and ambience was good but the food was not up to par. The concept of the meal was good but it was poorly put into practice. Two of us attended and each had a different pasta. My red sauce was very runny and the other meal the pasta was cold. Deserts looked good but the warm apple crisp with ice cream but room temperature at best.
The Caesar salad was excellent. The lasagne was mediocre. All the dishes were good proportions.
The service was ok and could be improved with a little training. It was just the little things - she took away our plates without asking if we were finished, didn’t have a clue about the house wine “one is white and the other is red”, didn’t ask if we wanted coffee or dessert, etc.
When the restaurant was Scopa I always had good food and service so maybe Cibo will improve. I would go back and give it another try.
Always a great casual place to meet and enjoy a meal with friends. Went there often under the Sugo name, and CIBO is equally good. This past meal we were seated immediately but waited for about ten minutes before anyone came back to our table with menus or water etc. That was odd and unfortunate. Happily it was not our first visit there so we disn’t Let that “blip” in service spoil it for us. The food was prompt and excellent as always! Thanks!!
