I had a party of 12 thats was meeting me for dinner. When one of my guest arrived she sat at the bar and didn’t receive any type of acknowledgement from bar tender, but noticed a couple that sat down after her was immediately greeted and given menus. We were all seated and our waiter (Kush) came over and took our drink menu, but it took over a half an hour before he returned to bring them to us. He forgot some of my party wine samples and it also took for me to go up to another waiter for one our drinks that has been sitting on the counter to be brought to our table. His table presence sucked the whole night. We literally sat down at our table at 8:20 no later and did not receive our food until after 10pm. This was so embarrassing beings though I invited people there to celebrate my birthday. It was so bad that we had to speak with a manager to get our food out and to get some sort of acknowledgement. Not sure as to what the issue was with our server, but he was helping a nearby table that say down after us and got their food way before us. The manager did take care of us significantly once she was made aware of what was going on, but the whole experience put a bad taste on my mouth. After we finished our meal our waiter came to apologize for ruining my birthday dinner, but I felt the only reason he apologized was because we still tipped him despite of his poor customer service and rudeness. I am unsure if I would return or recommend this establishment.

Food is very mediocre and unimaginative. Definitely don’t get the mushroom appetizer (has anyone at CW actually tasted this horror?) and the salmon was overcooked, poor quality, and paired with a poor choice in sauce and vegetables.

Started at the bar with the flight of CW’s own tap wines. Four generous pours. We enjoyed all but the Rose. The in-house Som stopped by and was very knowledgeable about the wines. Very interesting to listen to his descriptions. Moved to a table for dinner. Original reservation was for two, but ended up as four and were accommodated. Ordered apps which were very good. Duck tacos, flatbread and amazing brussel sprouts. As we were selecting entrees, Som stopped by again to make recommendations for wine. Entrees and wine were excellent. Highly recommend this spot. They also have two rooms for live performances. Did not check those out.

Staff did go out of their way to accommodate us, however, food was a huge disappointment. Lacking in flavor and temperature. Over half the dishes came out cold. Tough to eat cold french fries. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place.

New experience for us, and it was great. Went to see Rodriquez in the concert room, and got there early enough to have a meal. Tables were a bit small and cramped, but that's to be expected for a place with dining coupled with live performance. We made it work just fine. Waitress was smart, efficient and took good care of us. Will watch the calendar for the next show that appeals to us, or we might just stop in for a meal, hopefully in the barrel room.

The food was fine and the server was great however the food took a while to come out. Our table of 15 was not setup when we arrived and there were only 2 tables of people in the entire restaurant at that time. I didn’t get to try the wine so I will give it another shot.

atmosphere is cool-but when we were there they were having some heat issue so it was freezing-but won't fault them on that. Food was a mess and so was service. Asked first server question about gluten allergy. He didnt really know clearly. Then asked about wine-he didn't know that answer either so said he would send over wine manager-10 min later she came over with a sample so that was all great -server didnt come back for another 15 min to ask what we wanted then it all went downhill. I ordered a tuna poke salad-no dressing-so of course it came out with dressing--easy fix, happens alot. server took it away. My two friends ordered chicken wrapped with prosciutto with sweet potato risotto. The chicken was so overcooked the prosciutto looked like jerky and the sweet potatoes in the risotto were almost raw. Server never came back, had to go to host, to get manager to take food back. server still never came. now like 20 min go by and this super nice guy from the kitchen comes out and somehow gets involved and apologizes for everything and finally the food comes out--this time all was correct and cooked normal. Original server finally came back asked if everything ok. Manager then came back.. Not looking for free stuff but really --ask to take something off the bill or offer something when 3 out of 3 meals go back and it is freezing so patrons are sitting with coats on eating dinner. Totally would never go back.

I stopped in for a disappointing lunch. Broccoli soup - good, cauliflower - good, cheesesteak - OK but served cold, tuna poke bowl - dismal. The tuna poke bowl was huge and beautiful but had no taste and was too much food for the large bowl. I requested extra dressing and received a small container of oil with no taste. The bowl was too large to mix the 'salad' without everything falling out. The manager questioned us about the uneaten entrée and we suggested it needed a sauce for taste. She thanked us and told us it would be removed from our bill. It was not removed. I think the cheesesteak would have been good if it was served hot, but cold it was disappointing. I also felt the wine (while perfectly fine) was too expensive for a house wine.

I ordered a Syrah and was told they were out of Syrah and Pinot Noir and suggested a substitution. I drank the substitution, the name variety escapes me - I think it began with a C. When I was ordering a second glass, I asked for a glass of Merlot and was told they were out of that, which I found strange for a winery. The appetizer and flatbread were brought to the table at the same time and the flat bread was cold. I can not chalk this up to opening issues since they have been open for two months. Also since it is a chain I would think they would draw assistance from other cities growing pains. It is a shame because the place is really nice inside and the concept to have a music venue is great.

We visited to celebrate a friends birthday. The atmosphere is nice. Service is pretty good. Drinks were great and so was the intro to their wine menus and plans for expansion. Food was JUST OK. Shrimp & grits left a lot to be desired. Not flavorful at all. Burger was dry but edible. Short ribs got rave reviews. Appetizers were good-no complaints.

The moment we sat at 5:15pm on a Saturday night. The service is super slow. As soon as we sat we ordered wine. The wine got into our table for nearly 20 mins. The food took long too. We ordered a salad, risotto balls and mushroom pizza. Ordered dessert and another 2 more glasses of wine which took another 20 mins. Food was mediocre. Sorry, I won’t be coming back ever again.

We were very excited to go to City Winery to celebrate a friend's birthday. The décor and ambiance of the place is fantastic but that's where it stops! Once seated our waiter didn't come to the table for about 5 minutes, we weren't ready, asked him to come back and he did....about 15 minutes later! We ordered 4 meals and 4 glasses of wine. Another 10 minutes or so later, he brings 2 and tells us they "ran out" of the other 2 Happy Hour wines. It was approximately 5:45! How does a place that specializes in wine run out of wine! We're not wine sommeliers--he could've brought out any red wine. Let's be real, we wouldn't have know the difference. ANOTHER 10 minutes later he brings one and then the last one comes about 5 minutes after that!! RIDICULOUS!!! After about 35 minutes they bring out ONE meal and then the other 3 come about 8 minutes later! All in all the food wasn't bad, one person thought it was kind of bland and needed seasoning. My burger and fries were fine, would've been better if it was hotter. It might be an OK place to have a Happy Hour if you're just standing and chit chatting at the bar. I wouldn't recommend eating there unless you have so much time to kill you don't care that you'll never get that time back. They have concerts and events and I WAS really excited about checking some out but now I think I'd do better sitting at home with a glass of wine watching TV.

The service level was not good and it was not a good first impression of a brand new restaurant in a surrounding area where there are multiple dinner options. The waitress took down three drink orders for me and the other person I was with who was drinking alcohol because she didn't know what liquor they had in stock due to a delivery not coming the previous night. Not a great start. The restaurant was not busy, multiple tables were open, and we waited 25 minutes for our drinks. I had to speak with a manager to inform him that I could go to 15 other restaurants within a 10 minute walk of City Winery and would have had two rounds of drinks and appetizers served within the same 25 minute time frame. The waitress didn't check in with us at any point, although walking by our table multiple times, during that 25 minute time frame. After I told the manager of the wait, he comped up for that first round of drinks, which was the appropriate thing to do. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and the amount of money we paid for what we got was not worth it.

Second visit in 3 days to see the music: Emmylou on opening night & Justin Townes Earle on Monday. This is mainly about the food, which is quite good. Overall the place is a spectacular music venue with food service in the venue and in a separate restaurant. It is new and has a few start-up issues with service. The food, when it comes, is very good. The duck starter is the weakest dish. The seafood with pasta is really tasty. The mussels are great. Their wine is pretty good and the bottled choices are interesting. I really liked the Portuguese white from Nortico. I'll try a flight of their wine next time.

I understand they’ve just opened, however, the place was not even half filled and it took 30 minutes to get water. Waitresses talking and not working. After trying the wine flight which came a half hour after the water, we decided to cut our losses. The water was better than the wine, I’ll say! Such a shame! Was really looking forward to going here. The view is something to be desired as well. There’s a 7-11 out one bank of windows and a bus station out the other side. Stay away!

First night is always very tough for any restaurant. Add a sold out show by Emmylou and we expected a few issues. Everything was great!! Except our entree was delivered about 45 minutes late. They comped our food which we very much appreciated. The venue is smashing! The restaurant will be fabulous. The wine is very good. We are so delighted to have a City Winery in Philly. We are going back tonight to see Justin Townes Earle.
