    Might need some kind of anti-fly countermeasures on the patio. The bugs seemed to be worse than usual, possibly due to some standing water nearby. Otherwise, amazing as usual.

    We sat outside on the patio and unfortunately there seemed to be flies. Not Clever Koi's fault but just a first world problem. Everything else was wonderful!

    Food was pretty good and nicely spicey - happy hour discount got us started and our waitstaff was pleasant enough. unfortunately we didn’t get one of our items but we’re still charged for it. disappointing .

    I went here with high expectations, given the great reviews. However, I was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered the short rib dumplings and fried rice with lemongrass chicken. The short rib dumplings were salty and had a very bad flavor. The fried rice was sour, making it inedible. I only took two bites and then didn’t eat the rest or take it Togo, yet at no point did the server inquire whether I was satisfied with the food. The server also was very rude and disengaged, barely speaking. He also did not set the punch bowl sugar cube on fire, despite doing so for the table next to us minutes before. My friends also did not enjoy their food. They got the pad Thai and noted it was sour like my food. The only good entree was the steak bowl. I would never go here again nor can I recommend it to anyone. The only saving grace is the ambiance is very cute/chic, but that does not help enough.

    The patio seating was excellent for quiet conversation. Comfortable seats and well shaded. The overall ambiance is excellent as were the various appetizers and cocktails. Main courses we tried were average.

    It was our first time here and it was a great experience! My fiancé and I have both lived in Seattle and miss Asian cuisines, and this place is the best we’ve found in Phoenix so far! Definitely recommend a reservation as it’s a small space.

    I really want to like this place but it’s honestly average in my opinion. I’ve tried the pad Thai and steamed buns. Both were okay. My husband likes spicy food and tried the catfish and he said it was too spicy for him. That’s saying a lot - never seen him leave food. He has cold sesame noodles too and said they were good. The Thai chopped salad was huge and pretty good but spicy too. I liked my cucumber cocktail but the Thai Long Island iced tea was weird. All in all it’s a cool vibe and good service. Maybe I ordered the wrong things.

    Ambience is great, service ok. They charge 3.5% service fee (which I'm not opposed to). Food is sub par. There are better asian restaurants for the price. The drinks were good but not mind blowing. Would not mind going back for happy hour as they have a decent selection of happy hr cocktails, but only of my friends were buying.

    Great, quaint and delicious. Not too loud to enjoy a conversation, cocktails don't disappoint and the food has so much dept of flavor. Our waitress Sam did outstanding being part of the experience. We keep coming back happy hour on Mondays and Tuesdays!

    Our waiter was cold, pretty close to rude. The music was really loud; too loud for 5:30 on a Sunday. I asked for it to be turned down or to seat us outside. The station/style of music was changed instead. We were never told if a table was available outside. The food was just ok. Plates were left on our tiny little table for way too long, as it we had to ask for them to be removed. As I used to wait tables myself for many years, your restaurant could do better.

    Clever Koi has gained popularity over the past year or so, and while their food is consistently good, their service falls short of what is expected. The hostess did not even smile as we checked in, and I called to let her know we would be about 5 minutes late (grace period is 15 minutes), she was curt and seemed annoyed. Our server was solemn at best, and when we reminded her that we were still waiting for a Diet Coke, she told us she would get it for us after we put in our order for main dishes. The bill included a 3% service fee, and we only realized it because one of us is in the habit of checking the bill meticulously before putting down a credit card. Much improvement needed in the service area, and the food does not make up for a less than desirable experience overall.

    Food is always exceptional at this spot! Portions are big and the ramen is delicious! Be sure to try the short rib dumplings! Service was very slow and our server seemed meh about most everything.

    Excellent food. We tried all the buns & loved them. One of us had ramen, one fried rice (the best !!) & the other had chow mien. Even the Old Fashioned I had was great.

    Eh. Food was disappointing for sure. Super cute place though. Pork in the ramen was very dry. Egg was super under cooked. Soft crab bun tasted awful. Drinks were ok. Service was lacking a bit. Was nice to try a new place and like I said, super cute. But unfortunately we will not be going back. I really really wanted to love this place 😢
