    The atmosphere is very pretty. Check in was confusing. Got a text table was ready. Hostess said it wasn't. Come back in 5 min. She didn't remember me. Said no table. Went to ask other gentleman. Said table had been ready. Took a long time to be acknowledged. Had to stop a waiter and ask for a glass of water. Overall service was not attentive for us that day. Some of the sandwiches were tasty, Deserts good. The chicken pate was awful. No one liked it. You should replace that. When I made reservations was asked if it was a special occasion. It was my daughters birthday. Why ask. It wasn't acknowledged in anyway. Given the atmospere which is special and considering the price, I think you could step it up Clockwork.

    I worked at Hong Kong's storied and elegant Peninsula Hotel as the first non-British editor of the Peninsula Group Magazine --- so I am familiar with elegant high teas as The Peninsula was famous for its high teas served in its elegant lobby. And I can say without reservation the the Fairmont Royal York's Sunday holiday tea at The Clockwork is on par --- my nephew and I loved our time there. Thank you to the wonderful staff --- 5-star service.

    The food was disappointing. Despite the variety, there wasn't a single item that was particularly delicious or memorable. Service is fine but the "experience" is quite prescribed and inflexible and small touches are missing, for example serving spoons for the cream/preserves for the scones, insufficient preserves for 3 people, failure to replace the plate and cutlery between the savoury course and dessert. They felt they need to tell us that while they would allow us to switch teas mid-course, this was generally not allowed. So for $94 (before tax and tip), one cannot enjoy two different teas. Clockwork is trying to be high-end but without truly understanding what that means. Mediocre at best - I would not return.

    The best customer service and experience I’ve had yet far! Can’t recommend the Fairmont Royal York enough. What a beautiful and festive way to welcome the holidays w a loved one!

    Definitely book this!!!! We booked the seafood tower and I was expecting a few pieces of seafood, instead we got an enormous tower with a TON of seafood. The value was incredible. The service was also amazing. The DJ played get music and the overall vibe was fantastic. We had a great night. Definitely going back. Cocktails are pricey!!!! We saw people ordering the clockwork one and didn’t realize it was $30 😱. Otherwise a great night.

    Went for high tea. Service was underwhelming. Food was just OK - not worth the cost of the experience. Lack of attention given to a person in our party celebrating a birthday after waiter asked if we were celebrating anything. Saw the table next to us with birthday tower. Overall ambience was nice - but not sure I’d recommend or return.

    Very, very expensive for what is provided. The High Tea is $94 for what essentially amounts to ten hors d’œuvres. Plus, several of those tidbits were very dry (the tiny turkey croissant), used very cheap ingredients (cucumber) that don’t justify the cost, or very fatty tasting. The servers were lovely, but this is not worth the money.

    I've been to the hotel before for High Tea and also to stay in a room. This is a glorious hotel and thrilled with the 'green' changes to come. Service, as always, was wonderful.

    My husband is a huge fan of Christmas and Afternoon Tea. So, when I was planning his birthday staycation at the Royal York, attending the Holiday Tea was the perfect idea! He and I have been lucky enough to experience many afternoon teas throughout Ontario and Quebec. If you're looking for that traditional afternoon tea experience, the Holiday Tea at Clockwork isn't it. It's a much more contemporary feel and missing the charming little details that usually are included...but that's okay too. The service was good...but it wasn't "afternoon tea excellent". Does that make sense? If you've been to an afternoon tea, they often take pride in their teas and take the time to explain what you're about to experience. Neither of this happened at Clockwork. Again, but that's okay. The food was delicious. The savoury, the sweet...it was all delicious. But the only "Holiday" aspects were a chocolate mousse shaped like a reindeer (cute)..and a little candy edible tag that said "Merry Christmas" on another dessert, at the end. At the $94/person price point, I have to admit...we were a little disappointed at the lack of "holiday" accents. We said we probably just could've done the regular afternoon tea and saved ourselves a few dollars. One more aspect that was slightly disappointing was that the holiday decor (trees, garland, etc.) was not yet set up when we arrived. This was the very first day of the Holiday tea and yet, there just wasn't much "holiday" about it. Workers were setting up Christmas trees as we sat there, sipping our delicious teas, but it just would have made sense for them to already be set up in time for the first day. Did we have a lovely afternoon? Of course. Would we revisit the Holiday Tea at Clockwork at Fairmont Royal York? Probably not. It's most likely going to be added to our ongoing "One and Done" list. Oh! One more thing...the staff was nice enough to make a "Happy Birthday" chocolate banner and include it in our dessert tray.

    Was a nice experience, but I would not recommend, as it is not worth it for the price ($94.00 per person before tax). I appreciate them accommodating my dairy sensitivity, but the bread was dry and you are only able to select one tea to try. We were also seated on these low chairs, which made it uncomfortable to eat.

    What a lovely experience with my husband and son for afternoon tea. More than enough food and the staff were top notch and always were refilling our tea and were quick and on it when we needed anything. The atmosphere was beautiful and although Clockwork is in an open area in the lobby of the Royal York Hotel, it is relatively quiet and peaceful. Would love to do this again.

    Some of the sandwiches were very strong and unique flavors that not everyone would enjoy. That being said, the ambience, the experience, the tea and the desserts were divine.

    Such a great experience overall. Love the atmosphere as well. I informed them before hand my friend is vegetarian and they kindly made her tea savoury and salty treats all vegetarian. They even added a chocolate edible happy birthday for her on one of her desserts. We had such a great time and would definitely be back.

    Had a wonderful experience at Clockwork. Everything was perfect from arrival till we left. We had an 11-month old baby with us and the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Beautiful space, excellent servers and divine afternoon tea bites.

    We had an outstanding dinner & drinks experience at Clockwork. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Our server was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. We shared the Seafood Tower, which was amazing. The cocktails were inventive and delicious. We visited on a Saturday evening, and there was a live DJ with a great music mix. Upon learning that we were celebrating our anniversary, the manager came to our table to offer his congratulations, and treated us to a compliementary dessert. A top shelf experience from start to finish, we will 100% return.

    Amazing for a mature date night. We ordered the Sea and be Seen seafood tower. It was delicious, well paired with our creative cocktails. The DJ had the best remixes, which I just had to save to my playlist. Highly recommend for a special date.

    My grand daughter and I had a wonderful visit for Afternoon Tea. I really appreciated the effort made to our request for having a gluten and dairy free tea tier. She liked it very much and she also enjoyed the teas. We also enjoyed hearing the piano from the Piano bar. Overall it was an excellent afternoon making memories. Thank you.
