Love Close Harbour!!!
Food was great! Outdoor dining at it's best! Great service!
Always a great place to eat. Great food and good service with friendly waitstaff.
The seafood is always fresh and cooked perfectly… great raw bar oyster variety . For a casual, dining option Close Harbor has a welcoming comfortable atmosphere with an attentive, friendly staff. The Close family owners are always present assuring customer satisfaction. Certainly high on my list of go to eateries!
Only issue was very sloppy floor. Damp day and slippery indoors
Mediocre yet again. Beautiful place but meal prep is suspect.
Magnolia provided great service, she was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Drinks were good, NE clam chowder was delicious as always- creamy with plenty of clams, oyster selection was great- probably could've eaten a dozen more. Tuna tartar was a little bit of a miss, the fish was fresh and a decent portion, avocado was fresh and perfectly ripe. However, since the marinade was a bit sweet, it didn't pair as well as I hoped with the sauce. I would suggest getting it without the sauce or on the side instead. Also, I thought the crisps would be more of a chip but they were still a nice crunch factor on top. The swordfish was ok. In our opinion, it could've been done better. The piece of fish was great but not seasoned enough, the jalapeno was barely tasted, and the char looked nice but didn't hit the flavor mark we are used to with a grill. We will still be back but probably won't do the tartar or the swordfish again.
Drinks, food, waitress and ambiance were all great!
I thought the clams casino were delicious but a little pricey.
Oysters and seafood are always sooo fresh!
We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks because they sat waiting on the waitress . The manager had to come over a couple of times because the waitress didn’t return. She would disappear for long stretches of time until it came time for the check and tip to be paid. I don’t normally complain as I was a waitress once, but this was awful. No apologies or acknowledgement. She didn’t even realize she never brought our drinks.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks. Seafood was fresh and well prepared. Outdoor seating was comfortable even though the weather was not ideal. Our waitress, Magnolia, made us feel welcome and timed our dinner perfectly. Definitely coming back; we have been searching for a good local seafood restaurant and it looks like we’ve found it.
Always completely satisfied with food and service. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal. The salads and fries, etc are wonderful. Salad is freshly prepared and, thankfully, no iceberg lettuce! But the fish is outstanding! It is a fish market, also. I tried something new this week, the Philly Swordfish on the ciabatta roll. SO GOOD! This will make my decision harder in the future. I love this place so much, we even ate outside in the winter, during the bad part of COVID, IN 45° weather and thanks to the elaborate heating system, a coat and blanket, it was quite comfortable. I highly recommend Close Harbour.
Oysters on half shell, baked stuffed lobster, jambalaya and flounder Milanese were all great. Servers friendly and professional with everything served in a timely manner.
First time eating outdoors..was very loud and the table was was metal wire, so drinks kept dripping on us below. Food is good and prices are good. I only wish the clams casino were bigger. :-)
2 undercooked lobsters
Had to wait 20 mins. past reservation. Waitress spilled water on me. no problem. service was fair but the place was full as usual. Food was excellent. alwas the freshest seafood around so i don*t mind paying alittle xtra.
We have eaten here many times both in person and takeout. We have never had a bad meal. Took advantage of Restaurant Week prix fix menu and had a wonderful meal again. Good size portions - I had to bring some home.
Food was delicious! The bloody mary flight was a fun addition to our meal! Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. So many seafood options (without battling shoreline traffic).
Server was pleasant but it was busy. I have never been disappointed. Great food! Could use another server.
Overall good experience. Sunday Brunch, quite relaxed local crowd. Patio dining was comfortable. For was good overall but would have preferred the chowder to be warmer.
Excellent food and good service.
Brought my mother here for Mother’s Day. Quickly seated, excellent server (Alex) and delicious meals, drinks and desserts. The Captain’s Roll and Lobster Roll were amazing! Can’t wait to go back.
Execellent food and service. Sat outside. Heaters were on and we were very comfortable.
Food was top notch!
Food was very good other than salad dressing and undercooked burger. Lobster and jambalaya was excellent. Fish and chips-loves the breading. Beware lobster dinner is $52 and not $32 as shown on menu. Also, they said soft drinks had free refills and we were charged for our refills.
We enjoyed having a valentines dinner together, and having a staff that was attentive to our needs. At times a door would get left open, allowing the frigid temperatures from outside to enter the dining area. But everything else was fantastic.
I included special requests, I took my husband out to celebrate his promotion, and they totally ignored my requests. So that was frustrating. And our reservation was for 745, and by 830 we felt like we were getting rushed out.
Loved it,....food was great.....service wonderful!
Great Seafood at a "fair price", our waitress Alex was terrific! I will go back ( often) I hope.
We sat outside and there were only people sitting at 4 tables. Our food was very good. It took a long time to be acknowledged once we sat down. It also took a long time to receive what we ordered. We were apologized for the long wait several times. This was our first time time here, but unfortunately, not sure if we will return.
The food and service is always top notch😃
Close Harbour is one of my favorite seafood restaurants. Food is excellent and everyone is so friendly.
This was me and my husbands first date night out since the beginning of Covid. We were apprehensive at first but immediately felt safe once we got into the restaurant. Everyone was being cautious and tables were well spaced. We had a wonderful meal and it was nice to be out again!
The only thing I would say, is the fries were barely warm. Other than that the food was very good. Service was good. Loved the new outdoor patio.
First visit and will definitely be back. Opted for outdoor seating when booking but when we arrived the hostess didn't know we had reserved for outside. I wonder if they plan to accommodate these requests at a busier time. We were sat quickly on their outdoor patio which was clean and nice. Our server was great, friendly, and very personable. She made sure we were satisfied and didn't make us feel rushed since we took our time. Manager came around a couple times to check on us as well. Cocktails were tasty. Complimentary bread and butter was very good. NE clam chowder was delicious, creamy, and chock full of good sized clams. Oyster selection was great- fresh and served with a mignonette. Fried sea scallops were excellent, not overly breaded while well seasoned. However, the old bay fries accompanying them were wayyy too salty. Mussels were good, cooked perfectly with sausage and a smokey broth that was tasty. Delicious garlic bread to dip. We also had the bam bam shrimp which was like a thai chili buffalo shrimp blend. It was tasty and cooked perfectly but sweeter than anticipated. Will definitely be back with family to try dessert and other dishes and probably get some of the fresh seafood they sell in the storefront.
Enjoyed our dinner on the new patio. Tables are nicely spaced and service was great.
First time out since Covid hit. We chose outdoor dining, food was very tasty, staff was slow at first but made up for it they out the evening. Made recommendations for that evening and for future visits
The service was very good The oysters were huge, which is why we went there. A friend had recommended it so that we could simply try them. I did order 6 and could not finish them. While they were huge they were not really suitable for eating raw. More suitable for fried oysters or oyster stew. The fired clams and calamari were crisp when first served, but within minutes turned greasy. Cannot really recommend this to friends.
Great dinner and creative drinks❣️will be back
Lovely outdoor setting and great food
