The cozy, rustic timber-frame environment at Whitewater Ski Resort sets the stage for epic stories of knee deep powder over delicious food and local craft beer such as Nelson Brewing Company (NBC).
After the lifts stop turning, Coal Oil Johnny's offers a tantalizing and varied apres ski menu to match your choice of NBC brews on tap such as Harvest Moon Hemp Ale, Bent Pole IPA and the much anticipated seasonal Faceplant Winter Ale.
With such a cozy setting, it’s not uncommon to find people coming up to the mountain just to enjoy lunch in the pub!

I always have a good time on the hill and what comes with it.
I wish they wouldn't put us right by the kitchen entrance door when half the pub is empty. It was apparently the last table booked for the day and the time slot. But several tables where empty while we were there. No biggie but just a hint since we ended up at that table twice (2 different occasions) while the place was almost empty. Maybe it is because we had a 6 year old with us? Not sure... love u guys regardless 💓

Coal Oil Johnny’s Pub has the best burgers & poutine we have experienced in the Kootenay’s!
The food was awesome as always. Drinks were excellent. Service was very good. Views were closed over but that meant fresh powder so all was good!!

Amazing as always! Some of the best food you can find at a ski hill and an unforgettable atmosphere. Things have quieted down with covid, but that is to be expected. They have done a great job following covid protocols.
