We were dining for the first time @ Coal town public house. We chose this place for a special celebration. We all wanted to celebrate with a good STEAK. Unfortunately this is NOT A STEAK HOUSE. So when booking on open table while this is a cool vibe with friendly staff and decent food IT IS NOT A STEAK HOUSE . Might visit again when I’m in the mood for pizza.

Loved this place…the food and service was great, but the noise level was too loud. Combined with patron noises and music playing very loudly…I could not talk to my date without shouting. Kind of disappointing. Again the food and service as great…just might consider turning down the music a bit for the dinner hours.

The greeting at the door was excellent and we got the quiet table we requested. The service was relatively good throughout the meal but, once the meal was over and the check paid we stayed in the nearly empty restaurant to visit and the server disappeared after receiving generous tips from both couples. Some of the food was good and some was very good but the shrimp and grits and stroganoff were overpriced, even in these inflationary times. We agreed this would be a good place to dine for a burger but not again for the pricier offerings on the menu. Our two couples dine together at least monthly and agreed there are better places for less money in the Franklin area.

Don’t let our experience deter you from eating here. The food was absolutely great as always. We’ve been multiple times just this one visit was had very bad service. We were seated quickly as we had a reservation, but then we were forgotten about and took about about 30 minutes to get our drinks, and then twice as long to place our appetizer order and then our food order. We are off in a corner so we kept getting forgotten about. But the MOD made an appearance and that was nice. Our server did apologize and that was appreciated. She was very kind and they were under staffed. It was a Sunday afternoon and they had three servers on the floor with what I’d say 90% of the table tops full. We will go again as this was a first and like I said the food was amazing.

We had a great dinner out with friends at Coal Town. Food was great and so was the service! My water glass stayed full and our server brought us extra pita for our appetizer without being asked. We will be back again!

Visited on a whim for someplace we haven't tried. Service was top notch. Ordered the goat cheese appetizer which was very good. I would get it along with the Italian salad for dinner. My wife and I shared the cheeseburger and fries. The burger was huge, well prepared and hot. Definitely a place to recommend for lunch or dinner. Service was excellent. Music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other. Asked to have it turned down which they did, but then turned it up again in quick order. Sweet potato gnocchi was burnt and greasy. Everything else was delicious.

Amanda assisted us with dinner and our meal was excellent. She is very attentive and always knowledgeable about the menu. We asked another assistant for some bread to go along with the Butternut Squash soup, but did not realize it was a separate order, and we didn’t get it until the end of our meal:( We look forward to dining at The Public House again.

First time there, the server was very inattentive. We had to pretty much wave her down to get anything & she checked on her table then walked right by ours while we had empty drinks & were ready to order. The food was great though. The warm goat cheese dip was amazing as well as my chicken and waffles!

Very expensive for the food. Drink pours were very small. Two drinks, two salads (one with a steak add on) and a salmon was $130. If you are going to charge this much, then no paper napkins and a two ounce pour. Service was good but a little too much. Salmon was great.
