   We were seated in a very modern high ceiling room. The noise was very high. Conversations were quite loud around us. We could not have any quality of conversation as we couldn’t hear each other. Our tomato ginger soup was delicious. After that we waited mored than 1/2 hour for our meal. It was after 8:30 pm and we were hungry. No one came to tell us if there was a delay. Our red snapper was very tasty as was the mushrooms in sauce. The naan was very flaky and crisp. We did enjoy the food. The long wait for the food was a bit disappointing. The high noise level would make me reconsider returning to this restaurant. It was expensive and the food was so good.

   This was the best dinner we’ve had in Ottawa. We had incredible service. Stephania was patient and gave us great recommendations. The sommelier checked up on us multiple times throughout dinner as well. The food was simply amazing. Every first bite blew us away. 10/10 recommend

   We did find that, at our table, it was drafty and cool. I would assume due to a poor AC design. Would recommend taking an extra jacket/sweater just in case. Everything else was great.

   We enjoyed eating at the new Coconut Lagoon. The decor is classy, but simple. We liked the division between our table and the next. It gave us a nice degree of privacy. The service was pleasant and attentive, without being intrusive. Most importantly, the food was excellent!

Many of our guests have been extremely pleased with this new concept. We are happy to provide dishes on our old menu at our sister restaurant Thali which is on 136 O’Connor Street in downtown Ottawa.     We had a delicious family dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The food was delicious with lots of choices of tasty appetizers and main courses. And the service was friendly and excellent, including from our server and the sommelier who advised us on our wine selections and arranged for a happy birthday dessert surprise. Great ambience in this recently renovated restaurant.

    All of the food was scrumptious! From mushroom tart to curry salmon to the wine (chenin blanc). Service was congenial and non-invasive. Space is beautiful! All round lovely experience.

    We have eaten at Coconut Lagoon previously and it was always excellent, however, this time we chose the six-course tasting menu with wine pairing. Each of the dishes were superb, expertly prepared by Chef Joe with his usual care and attention to detail and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were delicious, with each glass being explained to us by their in-house sommelier. We were celebrating our anniversary and they helped us mark the occasion with complimentary glasses of sparkling pink cava. It was an exceptional meal. We cannot wait to return to experience whatever delicious delights Chef Joe and his team will prepare for us next!!

    Our reservation was for 5:30 pm and we were seated at the upper level where the ambient temperature was 28 deg C (82 deg F) - not a pleasant dining experience. That being said the service and food were very good. The wine recommended by the sommelier fully supported the Mother's Day selection.

    Coconut Lagoon was promoting a Mother's Day special on May 14, 2023. It was a series of delicious meals bringing the taste of the Kerala region of India. Everything was delicious, well presented, and the service was perfect. Great restaurant if you want great Indian Food.

    The three of us had the tasting menu and two bottles of the excellent premium wine. This is the second time I have had the tasting menu and both times the food was superb. The attention and service were both top notch. This reincarnation of Coconut Lagoon takes Indian food to a new level in Ottawa; it is not going just for Indian food, but going to a truly fine dining experience with Indian food. I highly recommend it. I have also dined a la cart with friends and was very good too.

    We found a much more elegant ambience in the refurbished Coconut Lagoon. Service was pleasant but not quite attentive enough. The new menu is much more expensive and not as flavourful as before. Well worth a visit but I do not feel the need to return. Shellfish heavy menu.

    Hugely enjoyable meal. Lamb Tellicherry, coconut crab and lobster lovely. Duck was in a wonderful sauce,but that sauce tended to overpower the duck flavor - only small negative. Palanta dessert and mixed pappadom-like appetizers also excellent. Staff very helpful and ambience restful.
