Food quality was very good but quantity was very little. Duck leg confit came with a tablespoon of peas and 2 small pieces of roast potato. Laughable portion sizes. Prices are very high. Most Appetizers $15-25. Most Mains $40-60. Most Desserts $15.

Excellent service de la part du serveur mais nous aurions apprécié être servis en français. À notre arrivée, on nous a placés à côté d’un groupe très bruyant. Heureusement, nous avons pu changer de place à notre demande. Je crois toutefois que la jeune fille qui nous a reçus aurait pu y penser dès le départ étant donné que nous sommes un couple d’un certain âge. Mon mari a adoré la bavette et moi, le canard confit . Merci.

This place is in the lobby of the Metcalfe hotel and is very cute. However, we were seated right in front of the lobby doors where cold air comes in whenever guests enter or leave the hotel. That said, the staff is very cute and very charming. We had the French onion soup, the muscles and the steak frites. We also had the creme brûlée. The soup was unique w/ veal stock instead of beef. But the main courses were below average - the steak was think and poorly cooked; the fries were all very small and broken. The muscles were gritty and the white wine/curry sauce was so watery it couldn't be enjoyed. The creme brulee was great - but it was served in a bowl (rather than a ramekin) and had a very thin scorched sugar layer. Overall, underwhelming for the price.

My wife and I both enjoyed a wonderful and authentic French meal in a renovated setting. In this respect, our server (Brooke) provided excellent and timely service. She is to be commended for her professional efforts which contributed greatly to our experience.

The food was amazing, very very delicious. The bar and kitchen seemed to be very backed up so it took a long time for food to come. They did offer us a basket of bread to tide us over- even that took a long time to come. But once we got the food it was very delicious. Very nice spot would absolutely go again.

This was our first time at Cocotte. The design of the space is really nice, the overall ambiance was awesome. Their cocktails are beautifully presented and well mixed. Our food was very good overall with only one hiccup with an appetizer soup not being very good. Our service was really great and the manager was really nice to speak to, he's very friendly, and encouraged us to give feedback on our meals. It seems like the restaurant is trying some new things out menu-wise and they really want to deliver a more upscale dining experience! Would definitely go back and plan to try out their brunch.

Great dinning experience, server Victor was bright and knowledgeable with new menus, this was our second time dinning and delighted to see a french influence on dishes as well as having both an English and French version for all menus! Manager Joseph came by the table and talked about some of the buildings history and what is planned for the holiday season coming soon! Looking forward to coming back already!

Disappointing again. First time there for lunch, about a month ago, the French onion soup, although tasty with the veal broth, was extremely oily. It was floating. We could not finish it and that afternoon two of us felt quite sick and we kept tasting the soup over and over. Yesterday, my friend ordered the Cavatelli and she said it was more like gnocchi and the sauce was a bright rather odd shade of green and far too much of it. No fresh bread was provided. Service was very slow and we waited 40 minutes for the food. We weren't in a big hurry but we did find this a long time. Also, the glasses of wine are far too expensive.

Très moyen. Un cassoulet trop salé qui n'est pas un cassoulet (avec de la gravy dans le cassoulet)... Idem pour le Steak frite, assez moyen... Le gérant ne nous a pas facturé et affirme être en rodage tout en devant s'adapter à la clientèle locale. Or, cuisiner c'est aussi éduquer au goût !

Our recent dinner experience was unfortunately far from satisfactory. We encountered several issues that significantly impacted our dining experience. Firstly, the food took an excessive 50 minutes to be prepared, which left us waiting for an extended period. This extended waiting time was already frustrating. Furthermore, our server's demeanor and service were far from acceptable. She exhibited rudeness and a lack of helpfulness throughout our meal. To make matters worse, she brought our food to us late, and instead of inquiring about our satisfaction or any potential needs, she immediately asked if we wanted the bill. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the quality of the food. It was evident that the dishes served were of poor quality and seemed old. This detracted from the overall dining experience. I believe these issues are crucial for the management to address, as they significantly impact the restaurant's reputation and the satisfaction of its patrons. I hope this review helps in improving the dining experience for future customers.

I was looking forward to a casual lunch with friends but was disappointed in the food/menu because there were not enough vegetables. My salmon tartare had no vegetables on the plate. While there was a very generous portion of tartare and I ordered the fries that came with the larger portion, I would have liked the meal to be a bit more balanced. My friend’s plate had a croissant sandwich and fries which was not innovative, and the vegetarian option was a bowl of lentils and potatoes for $23, which I thought was steep.

J’ai fait la réservation depuis semaine passée pour justement assurer la place exacte que je voulais et j’ai même dû envoyer un mail au manager pour être vraiment certaine de que ma demande est bien prise en compte. Quand nous sommes arrivés sur place (mon conjoint et moi), la personne qui se trouve à l’accueil nous dirige vers une autre, j’ai bien sûr dit que c’est pas ce que j’avais réservée elle dit que non, celle que j’avais prise n’est pas disponible et que le manager n’était pas sur place. J’ai du insister et attendre 10-15min avant qu’elle décide finalement de nous la donner. Le repas de mon mari était TRÈS salé (c’était le steak frites) et les boissons (non alcoolisées) n’étaient pas à notre goût. Il y avait trop de glaçons de ce fait, c’était comme si on avait juste de l’eau aromatisée. Le seul point positif était le désert qu’on a trouvé tous les 2 bon. A aucun moment le manager n’est venu nous voir pour s’excuser du désagrément et pourtant on le voyait faire la ronde à d’autres tables. Ni même la personne à l’accueil qui ne voulait pas nous donner la table que j’avais réservé.

The beef tartare was fantastic. We were just sad that the Ottawa-Brest was not available for dessert because it was part of reason we came for lunch. The desserts we did have were delicious, though, especially the pistachio creme brulee.
