Sat street side outdoors. The table and floor were sloped, drinks spilled easily and noise level outside was too loud. I will never sit outside again at Coles.

of all the options in Lexington, you’re better off with Carson’s, Tony’s, or Jeff Ruby’s. not usually one to write a bad review but after poor service (2+ hours for dinner) subpar food, and weirdly pricey menu - you’re better off to take your $200+ you’d spend here and go elsewhere. there’s better Lexington staples that are cheaper and better food

If you’re looking for some fine dining in a quaint setting with solid service, you won’t go wrong at Coles. We had the Brie, Primavera, Scallops and Brussels on the side. All were among the best we’ve had. We’ll be back.

Though the kitchen was running behind and food came out later than past visits the staff kept checking in on us and we were having a great time with our group so we never cared. The server was AWESOME and helpful with her recommendations and very attentive. The manager came by and spoke to us. Overall a great evening of great food, great service, and great company. We hadn't been to Coles for a couple of years. The food was still good, but the salmon, which we like pink and soft, came cold and raw in the middle. We sent it back and they recooked the same piece of fish so of course it was overdone. We ate it anyway. I don’t agree with some of the additional charges they have instituted. There’s a surcharge for using a credit card and the nice little bread basket is charged for as well. I don’t think a more upscale restaurant should add these charges on. This is not a cheap place and we are charged a more than fair price for entrees.

Okay, I didn't go 5 stars across the board but the reasons should not keep anyone from going. The curb appeal is not the best and the interior space could use an interior decorator's input. However I hope you are stlill reading because the balance of the review is a 'SIX' on a 1-5 scale! This was a first time visit to Lexington and we had a handful of recommendations from some friends. We ate at the Merrick Inn the evening before and came out thinking we just had the best meal of the weekend. Buit alas, Coles topped it! The food was a 10+. I had the filet mignon (perfection) and my wife had the Divers Scallops (huge, clean and delicious). We had a hot Brie appetizer that was truly superb. We split a Coles version of potatoes au gratin that were truly delicious. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary so Yolanda served us a complimentary NY style cheesecake that was a perfect end to a great meal. BTW, Yolanda took very good care of us. She knew the menu inside and out and offered many great ideas. Go there!

Fabulous restaurant. Ambience was awesome. Our server was very adept at suggesting wines and food pairings. Lobster bisque was incredible, and our filet was seasoned great and served exactly medium rare. Staff was constantly attentive, without disrupting our dinner. Highly recommend this place for dining!

We.Love.Coles! Our visit this time was to celebrate our mom’s 70th birthday. Our parents had never been to Coles and we had wanted to take them for some time. As always, service was spot on. Our server tonight was Yolanda. She was fabulous! We had a question on what wine to choose and she sent over the manager ( I forgot to get his name)who helped us pick the perfect bottle. I wish I had taken pictures of the food. It was as close to perfect as you could get. My husband has a red meat allergy and they made sure the kitchen knew about it. After we finished our meal, they brought our mom a delicious piece of cheese cake with a candle! It was perfect…. This place gets a perfect 10 every time.

The food from soup to dessert was absolutely excellent. It was different and exceptionally tasty. Our server was a young woman who knew everything about the menu and the food contained there in - extremely competent. The wine list was not super expensive and very interesting - several unusual and good wines. Overall just a delightful experience, maybe the best in Lexington!

We were seated relatively soon after we arrived for our reservation time. The hostess was warm and friendly. The food was wonderful and plentiful. 'Can't say enough about the delicious lobster bisque. We've been here 2 times prior and have never been disappointed.

The drinks were wonderful! I had a delicious cosmopolitan! Dinner was very good. We were seated outside. Traffic was extremely loud and sun was right in the faces of two of us for most of the meal. They did say they were working on improving that area.

Coles's began charging for bread ($4.00) several months ago, the bread is excellent so I kinda get it. But they are now charging (3% I think) for using credit cards...So society is getting away from us using cash to using cards...this cheapens the experience...this is NOT NYC, CHICAGO OR LA.

My filet was as good as, or better than any steak house in Lexington. My first place for steaks.
