    Sadly tonight was not the best experience I had at my me of my favorite restaurants. Most of the issues were service based. I can tell they are struggling like others in the industry, but still sad to see at a regular spot that has always nailed it with service.

    We have always loved Coles but last night which was our 34th anniversary dinner was a disappointment. Started with ordering drinks a number of spirits were not available. Order the pork chop server ask how I wanted that cook. I stated medium. It was well done. It was tasty but not cook to order. We also order a bottle of wine. We waited over 10 minutes wanting to have it with our meal. After 10 minutes we were told that wine bottle wasn’t cold. We were offered a couple of glasses but by this time wr we’re almost finished with dinner. The server did comp the pork chop which was nice. But we would have rather had great service and food. Disappointed customer.

    This was not our best experience at Cole’s. The food was just ok, and the service wasn’t great. The people sitting next to us were so loud I can barely think, but the tables are so close together it’s hard to avoid that if you have an extremely loud talker.

    Excellent food! Great service. Friendly staff. 4/5 on ambience just because it feels a bit dated. But, I also think that’s part of the charm for some people. Be aware that if you pay by credit card, they pass the service charge onto the customer - not uncommon these days. Also, the bread was an extra charge, Excellent steak, scallops & masked potatoes.

    The service was excellent. Yolanda (our server) was very attentive and welcoming. Everyone was welcoming. We were not rushed and ate our delicious dinner ate a leisurely pace. The food! We had the apricot and Brie appetizer, the Caesar Salad and Pork chop for our main course. The food was amazing! The flavors were spot on and the pork chop was so tender. Best pork chop I have ever eaten TBH. We split the homemade brownie with peanut ice cream and drizzled with caramel. It was so rich and delicious. We were ecstatic to have randomly selected such a great place. It was very popular and busy, but on Wednesday evening, we were able to get a reservation. You need to go there… you won’t regret it.

    My husband and I have celebrated many of life's moments here - dating, proposal, getting married, starting a family, and many birthdays. This was no different; Ms. Yolanda made our dining experience with our 4-year-old so special and memorable. She asked for another "date night" at Coles again - we will be back, as always.

    This is my favorite restaurant in town. It’s always good, but things were off tonight. Our server, Noah, was definitely struggling, not just with us but every table around us. The first bottle of wine we ordered wasn’t in stock. It took him 25 minutes to tell us that and another 10 to bring us a wine list, then 15 more to bring the bottle. And no shock, when I gave him two options of what we’d rather have instead, the far more expensive one was in stock and the one I said we’d prefer wasn’t in stock. Meanwhile, our food was getting cold while we waited for wine. He didn’t bring steak knives (another server did after realizing we weren’t digging into dinner while passing by). Then the initial bottle we ordered but wasn’t in stock was on the check along with the bottle we actually got, so we had to have him correct that, as well as another check error. I’ve never encountered service issues here, but tonight was rough. Food tonight was also really salty. This isn’t my usual experience here and I’d have normally said something, but with the other issues, I didn’t. The lobster bisque was great, as always. The filet special just needed less salt and it would have been stellar.

    Food prep took approximately 1 hour after ordering (no special orders), charged $4 for basket of rolls, very noisy outdoor setting. Poor value for inflated prices! We have dined here on several prior occasions, but this time was a marked disappointment and we will not be returning.

    Food was exceptional, service was on par, bit on the pricey side but for an anniversary supper it was worth it. For a steak meal, duck breast meal and two desserts (brownie with peanut butter ice cream, and a lava cake) $150 including tip. I would recommend to others for special occasions.

    I ate at Coles recently. The food -- avocado, scallops, steak, Brussel sprouts -- was excellent. The service was extremely disappointing. We were seat outdoors but I had made an indoor reservation. The rain started pouring down on the tent halfway through the meal. The iced tea didn't taste much different than iced water. The server asked if I wanted lemon with my iced tea (no) and then put lemon in it. It took about 30 minutes for our server to even take our order. No bread or food on the table for 45 minutes. Some of the staff appeared disheveled. Coles is one of the most expensive restaurants in Lexington. You’d expect quality commensurate with this. They didn’t live up.

    We really enjoyed the evening at Coles. Our server was awesome and the ambience was uniquely cool... comfy pillows, eclectic decor, with a homey yet upscale vibe. Drinks were tasty. My scallops were out of this world and my husband's beef dish with crab hollandaise was very tasty. Highly recommend the house baked cookies for dessert and the homemade ice cream!

    We ate outside under the tent on a perfect night to do so. Service was outstanding! Thank you Hunter and everyone! They have a gluten-free menu too. The salads were good, the mains were very good. We had the steak, duck, & scallops. My son ordered the creme brûlée which was excellent. We had eaten here at least a couple times before over the years, but tonight was the best. Love the tent!

    We had an early dinner for our 56th wedding anniversary. The staff was ready to serve us and did so with friendly conversation. The food was excellent. We had scallops served with Peruvian mini peppers. I highly recommend that entree. Our meal was finished with a complimentary creme brule'. Totally happy with our decision to have out anniversary dinner at Coles 735 Main.

    We had amazing dinner at Cole’s. I ordered the NY strip and my boyfriend had the pasta with beef shoulder tender. Both cooked perfectly and came out fast. All of our dishes, from the appetizers to our dessert were delicious. Our server was Ricky, who was both attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made our experience worth the while. Many of the other staff members as well as the manager, Joey visited our table to conversate and make sure our dinner was exceptional. Everything about our evening was perfect. Cozy interior, fast and detailed service, and the food can’t be beat. I cannot recommend Cole’s enough. Get the Crème Brûlée!

    Overall, we had a good dining experience at Cole’s but it was not as good as experienced we’ve had in the past. Our burger and steak were significantly over cooked. The service was friendly but fairly slow. We will give it another try but expected more.

    Coles 735 Main never disappoints. They were able to accommodate my food sensitivities without question. The service was incredible, our waitress (I am horrible and forgot her name), was kind, informative and understanding. The food was 🤌 If you haven’t ever had their French fries, you are missing out. Fried in their dedicated duck fat fryer. Wow!! The best fries I’ve ever had!! We’ll be back!

    Cole’s is my favorite restaurant in Lexington but it was just off last night. I got the shrimp and grits special. The shrimp were great but the sauce and grits had zero taste. My date’s garlic mashed potatoes had no taste either. The cracked black pepper biscuits were great but the others were so hard (inside and outside) that you couldn’t eat them. The seasonal sangria was good. Service was good as always. I will go back, just didn’t like what we ordered.
