Compane Brick Oven Bistro
Overall disappointing. Food was ok. Steak special was surprisingly overpriced for what we got - $50 for ribeye cut up into slices with 1 side. Mixed drink was tiny ( triple shot glass). Music was rock and very loud. Acoustics were poor and we could hardly hear each other talking.
Seated right away. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, helpful and non-intrusive. They food was really good. Beverages are a little on the high side and salads are extra.
My server was amazzzzzzing! The food was yummy and not too expensive. Highly recommend it!
Our food was quite good. The menu is very interesting and different, making choices somewhat difficult. A good reason to return. Service was a bit lacking in attentiveness, while friendly and helpful. Wasn't particularly busy, yet we waited quite some time for our dishes to be cleared and dessert to be offered. Overall an enjoyable evening and meal. Will return soon to try some other menu options.
Disappointing that the menu on Open Table did not correctly reflect the actual menu.
The actual menu had far less offerings then what is posted on Open Table
Food was great. Service was a bit slow but the waiter was kind so we didn’t mind.
We loved our server. She was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, patient, attentive. Food was great from appetizers to dessert. We had the fried dough and it was so far superior to any other!! Excellent bottle of wine at a good price. My only (mild) criticism was the music. It was like pop rock - 1960’s top 40 stuff. A nice jazz or classical music would be my choice. But overall it was wonderful and we will certainly visit again.
Loved the entertainment!!! Only wish it was better hear! In the dinner room. Great location! Great food and options!
Terrific food and great service
Everyone in the group raved about the pizza, wings and chicken parm and I loved the special sweet potato gnocchi
Have been a patron since they opened. Food is always well prepared and regular menu and specials are real treats. Service is excellent. The biggest downside is the noise level. It's too high. Does it discourage my going there. No, However, I know quite a few who were one and done because of the noise level. They need some sound dampening done to amplify the dining experience.
Food was delicious as always. Service was a little slow.
Great food but music loud
We enjoyed the food, the waitress was very friendly and over all we had an excellent experience.
Always a good experience
The food was OK, the service OK but nothing special.
Had table for two. Too close to other tables. People next to us commented on what we were talking about. Will not go back again unless I have more than two people
I really like Compane. Great food and ambiance. Staff wonderful from the moment you arrive till they wish you a good evening.
Wine selections very nice but maybe a buck or two per glass too pricy for Fairport. The food makes up for this so the overall bill seems totally in line with the overall quality and taste.
Homemade everything food is always good best sake he and pizza isn't oily at all with plenty to share or take home
Two of the 3 dinners were great. The bolognese was disappointing. There wasn't much meat in it and it was dry.
I don't know why we don't go here more often. A little on the noisy side but overall a great night!
The price seemed a bit high in comparison to the portion size. I realize making the bread, pizza crusts, and pasta on-site drives up the cost but I'm not sure it's worth it. Also, having bread with dinner would have been nice.
First visit. Good food and nice atmosphere. A little loud- conversations carried in main dining area. Would come back when in area.
Food was great! Service was good. Quite loud in the dining area.
Excellent brick oven pizza, which is always a favorite of mine. Service was good and portions were very generous; for $18 you get a good dinner and lunch the next day.
Our server was very helpful witch suggestions for dinner and dessert. The food was great and the price point matches the quality. The only thing I will say, is that the acoustics are pretty bad.
Everyone’s food was excellent! I would have preferred a higher quality italian bread, but that is a minor fine point. We all loved our dinners. The only factor that could really be improved is the sound level where we sat, in the large back room. Though the room was only about 3/4 full, the noise level was higher than comfortable for normal conversation - despite Our table being against the wall. Some sound absorbing material would make a big improvement in this department.
Both the food and service was outstanding. The appetizers and entrees came out in perfect timing. I will be back soon
Food was cold. Service was meh. Complimentary bread was weird. Overall... no bueno.
We absolutely love Compane's Bistro! Our favorite waiter is Brendon..he is amazingly fast and so very courteous! My only concern each time we visit the restaurant is the high noise level in the dining area inside...I do see that they have small acoustic wall panels in various locations around the room, but the conversations need to be shouted to each other. The hardscape material on the ceiling and floors must attribute to the noise level. This will not prevent us from returning...the food is phenomenal and the service is great. The owners are so very attentive and friendly as well.
Bar area was great. Food, cold and tasteless. Won’t go back.
REALLY ENJOYED MY LOBSTER FRA DIAVOLO, EXCEPT IT NEEDED MORE THAN
1/4 C. OF LOBSTER, SHOULD ADD SOME SHRIMP, OLIVES AND ARTICOKES
TO REALLY MAKE IT GOOD.
MY FRIEND REALLY ENJOYED THE EGGPLANT PARM.
First time there and had a great experience. Food and service were good and the owner stopped at our table twice to check on us and to see we were having a good meal. Quite a drive for us, but will definitely be back!
We went to Compane because they serve a few vegan options. I ordered the Beet balls with penne pasta and red sauce. When it came, it had cheese on it. I did not expect it to have cheese, so I asked for a new one without cheese. Our waitress made me feel it was my fault because I didn’t tell her I was vegan. She also said the beet balls had cheese in them, which I knew not to be true because the company that they get the beet balls from is a vegan company. So, I ended up getting a house salad. The manager came to our table to ask how things were going, and couldn’t care less about fixing our problem. He didn’t even know they served Beet balls, and joked that “meatballs aren’t vegan”, acting like we were stupid. In all, we will never be returning because of their lack of effort and poor service.
The food and drinks were good and quicker than anticipated. No bread was served which we missed. Portions are appropriate without feeling like you are hungry or food is going to be wasted.
Always very nice
Food and service were very good. Ordered a couple of cocktails which were also very good.
Waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the food.
Loved the outdoor seating. Wine is pricey! Food was all very good.
Food was delicious. We were a party of 3 and all of us enjoyed our meal. The prices were a bit high but it was a special birthday so we splurged.
I've been to Compane several times. It's one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The service is friendly and attentive. They make excellent brick oven pizza and their entrees are excellent Italian style cuisine. Pricing is very affordable. Highly recommended.
We frequent Compane and normally love it. I prefer to sit at the bar or high top as I find the tables in the back uncomfortable. We brought friends for their first visit. It was extremely loud and then the music was turned up even louder. For the first time ever my husband did not like the special but the server was very receptive and adjusted the bill slightly can’t wait to return and enjoy the patio.
