We’ve been to Coopershawk several times and enjoyed it every time! We tend to go for special occasions but it’s also fun anytime. Nice to go with a couple. Red wine can be served in the huge decanter which is fun.
Excellent meal and service experience. James was our waiter and he was excellent. I wish more wait staff were like him. He made the evening a great experience and fun. The dishes that we had were also excellent. This particular Coopers does an outstanding job of hiring the right people and keeping them engaged . They represent the organization in an exceptional way.
The meal was delicious. The server, Carlos, did a great job. The food is high quality and there are a lot of selections on the menu. I had the special which was sea bass. It was cooked perfectly.
Our waitress was Molly. She was pleasant and suggestive! She also brought a birthday treat for my friend and took a group picture for me and my guests. The food and wine were delicious! (As always!)
We were punctually seated on a Friday night with our open table reservation. Great menu selection and good food at a reasonable price. I think Coopers Hawk also does so well also because of the free parking. Customers hate the difficulty in parking at Reston town Center, so this is a great option.
The veggie hummus appetizer is a must
Unpacked Chardonnay is light and refreshing
Lovely large outdoor patio
Attentive service from Robin
Only negative, the restaurant is very chilly
Great as usual!
The food was very good, the wine was excellent, but it was too loud to carry on a conversation easily. Not sure how you could fix this since it is a design flaw in the space....high ceilings tile floor, no acoustic buffering elements. It is too bad because I could see how this would be a go to restaurant!
A very good place to dine, socialize and enjoy drinks while enjoying your meal.
Our server, Will, was wonderful. He knew everything about the menu (I had a lot of questions) and he let me sub out some things I did not want with what I did want. He was "service with a smile" throughout our entire visit. Food was great, as always. The only issue with this venue is parking - very hard to come by (very small parking lot and the garages are a good distance away).
Nice experience with great food. The short rib ressoto was incredible!!!
Wonderful food, fabulous wine, knowledgeable waitstaff, everything you want in a meal. A must go!
Reston and the surrounding area was in dire need of a place like Cooper's Hawk! The wine tasting before dinner was so much fun. I would recommend that you get to your reservation early so you can taste their wines before the meal. The food selection and quality was similar to meals we had in the Napa, CA wine country. Very very good.
The happy hour offerings for food and drinks is wonderful.
Didn't get offered their delicious pretzel bread with our lunch, so that was a disappointment, but I could have asked too. Also, the server offered me a sample of their wine of the month, but never brought it. Otherwise, another excellent experience with great food.
We are wine club members at this restaurant. Every time we have been the service has been outstanding. Food is consistently good and the ambience is wonderful. Managers are always visible and always checking on customers. Two servers who are outstanding are Ian and Jordan. They are very helpful with suggestions, they are willing to change the plate to whatever you would prefer, but the most important thing is that they check on you without hovering. Outstanding service!
Our first time there and we can’t wait to be back!!! Everything was wonderful!
Cooper Hawk skillfully delivers a great dining and wine experience at reasonable prices. We will definitely dine there again.
Our waiter, Wes, was fantastic. He was very attentive! The wine was terrific, the food delicious, and the whole evening was very enjoyable.
Chow was our server and he was excellent. He brought the Aerator and made our experience great. I am a wine member and we were able to drink our wine in style.
Delicious food and excellent service.
The best Resturant in town for great wine, good food and great service.
Wine and food was great. Crowded and fairly noisy on a late Friday afternoon but could still have conversation. Good service in friendly atmosphere. Fun place for meeting friends.
Consistently great, fresh food and excellent service. Lively atmosphere. Varied menu offers options for any taste!
Very good meal and excellent service. Thank you indeed
Both wine and food were below our expectations. The Pork Chop was the best thing we ordered. The calamari was over-breaded (more like onion rings than calamari). The shrimp was tasteless and wine was weak.
It started out nice, as we were offered a small wine tasting as we arrived. That's a nice touch. And as it was our first time dining there, we were offered another small tasting, and in fact we each received two tastings. But it went downhill from there. The service was very slow, and less than par for a restaurant of this caliber. I had ordered a gnocchi dish. The waiter returned to say they were out of gnocchi. I know that can happen. But I had to ask for a menu to make another choice, and then waiter hovered over me waiting for me to decide. He brought us our check, then asked if we wanted dessert, which we did. And finally, I had coffee with dessert. The cup was on a saucer that was filled with spilled coffee.
As for the food, I can only speak to the dish I had, the southern hot chicken sandwich, that was nowhere near hot chicken. One a scale of 1 -10 in spiciness, I rated a zero. Additionally, it was mostly breading.
One bright spot was the creative cocktails. We tried several, and they were all delicious, and very reasonably price.
This was our second time here. Went with another couple. We had drunken shrimp and pot belly tostadas. Both very good. For dinner 3 of us had fish, 1 had pasta. All very good. Wine was very good as well.
Delicious food, excellent service, great value. What more can you ask for?
We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated right away. We hadn’t previously had the wine we were interested in but our server, Blake, suggested we have a sample which we really liked. Made us very comfortable ordering a bottle.
Blake was very attentive, good humored and knowledgeable, without hovering, throughout our dinner.
We’ll definitely be back!
First time to this new restaurant in Reston but was disappointed. The pretzel bread was hard and burnt. The service was very slow. I got the crab fritters but they were mostly tempura batter. The wedge salad did not have blue cheese dressing as expected. It was vinegar based which caused the iceberg lettuce to wilt and become soggy too soon. We all got the crab and lobster bisque which was not worth eating. It was full of carrots and shrimp with chunky veggies in it. Not a bisque at all. My daughter got the calamari which was mostly tempura batter. We left the majority of our food there. Not worth the $100 plus we spent on two wines and appetizers for three people. Wish I had gone to Passion Fish where it would have been worth the money!
The server, Zachary, was great, but the food left a lot to be desired. The churrasco steak had been sitting for a while, as the fries were mostly soaked in the juices and the vegetables barely registered as warm. The sea bass (monthly special) was overdone and had also sat out for a while before being served. We most likely won't return.
One year in for this restaurant and the service still needs some work. But the food and wine are always great. So it’s worth it regardless!
This was our second visit. We had a lovely time at the bar our first visit. Unfortunately, we invited friends for dinner with reservatoins and it was not good. We waited 30 minutes before getting served. We waited 1 1/2 hours to be receive our meals only to have one meal wrong. They did take that off the bill. Better bar scene. Restaurant was really crazy busy.
Hostess was incredibly rude. Service started out great but quickly deteriorated into being ignored for a large party. Meals came out separately and wine pairings only showed up after repeatedly asking other servers. The point of suggested wine pairings is to enjoy the wine with said meal.
We our wine club members of this restaurant. We came last week to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We started with a winetasting with David. He was wonderful!! He was very personable and made the experience so pleasant!! He was able to tell us about the wines and was amenable to switch out a wine to accommodate my preferences. We then went into the restaurant for dinner. Our server was Ian and he was truly one of the best service that we have had to. We dine out a lot and Ian was outstanding. He was very attentive without being obnoxious. He was also very knowledgeable about wines and was able to give us recommendations for food. After dinner I asked to speak to his manager because I was so impressed with him. Darcy came to our table and she also was so personable. We had watched her during our winetasting deal with an unpleasant situation outside the restaurant. She remained calm, professional and handled the situation without alarming any of the restaurant patrons. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was outstanding from the wine tasting to our server to the manager. Outstanding !!
It's always consistently very good, food, wine, service, etc. Keep it up.
We love the Ashburn location but we were really disapointed in the service and food at this location. Took us 20 minutes (and after our appetizer arrived) to get silverware — they brought napkins but I think ran out of silverware so we waited to eat out starter until our entrees arrived. Husbands fries with his steak were supposed to be parmesean but were just plain. My chicken sandwich lacked flavor. Just not great. We’ll go back to Ashburn!
The food was great but the service was slow. Also they tried to push their wine club membership too much.
Other than that it is a great place.
I belong to the Copper Hawks wine club and eat at either the Reston or Ashburn location about once a month. We’ve had some amazing meals and service time after time but our experience this evening was disappointing. The service was lacking. At times, the order got confused with other tables or our waiter would not check in to see if we wanted to order/needed anything extra. It became frustrating and we had to notify the manager in order to get service. My husband ordered the special and it was underwhelming in flavor. I will be back because overall I’ve had better experiences and my hope is this was an off night.
