We had a wonderful brunch. Food was delicious. The bill came and we were shell shocked. $50 for 2 people for brunch! Plain old regular drip coffee was $4 a cup!!!! $4!!! I can get a venti drip at Starbucks for under 3!!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
Overpriced for what it is. Dessert better than entree. Okay service..
The food was decent. The service was slow and so was the tavern.
Not only would I recommend Copperwood to friends, I take my friends! Brunch never fails; try the gouda grits or the Western Omelette! We love their seasonal pancakes, but the French toast could be *less crusty and dry. Just sayin'. Overall, we love all the food and have enjoyed everything including Sunday brunch, lunch, and dinner - the hamburgers and steaks are amazing!
This is easily my favorite restaurant in the area. I’m only out here for work one week a month or so, but the service, food, ambiance, and overall vibe of Copperwood are super fantastic and comforting. I try and get here once a trip (Twice this time.)
I will say that I came here a few times with vegetarian co-workers and the selection isn’t stellar. But is passable. I’d love to see an Impossible burger or equivalent offered. I only note this because the menu is so meat focused, keep with the theme. Why have the option be a squash dish? Play to your strengths!
That aside, literally every server, manager, and bartender I’ve interacted with I could easily be friends with. Keep up the awesome job, Copperwood management. You’re kicking butt.
Wonderful food and service. The brunch menu was varied and reasonably priced. We were looking for an upscale place with an early opening time. Most choices had weekend brunch starting at 10:00 or 11:00. Copperwood opened at 9:00, which was perfect for our plans. Server was personable and attentive. Will definitely return.
This is my new favorite restaurant. I went with three close friends, and we all wanted to try something new. Everyone really enjoyed dinner, and we all ordered something different. The service was great, and it was nice to have some separation from the bar area to lessen the noise and feel like we were more in a restaurant. The menu is spectacular!
Great food. Copperwood Tavern has a great idea of getting food from local sources. The waitstaff was very courteous and knowledgeable. Great overall experience.
Celebrated a birthday and everything was perfect would recommend highly.
Very loud, slow service, and average food that was overpriced. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Our entrees (steaks) were barely warm as was the apple pie dessert. Staff promptly fixed it. Steak was chewy although well seasoned.
Busy evening on 15th, but my food was cold. Sitting next to the outside doors, and you can feel a draft.
Service was very poor bordering on awful. Nearly had to literally grab a waiter to get his attention to replace a drink after it was served in a glass with a large chip. Food was good with one major exception - my rib eye steak and side of mushrooms were cold. Given the poor service to that point I did not want to send them back and have to wait another 20 mins while others in my party ate. The "rib eye" wasn't a rib eye cut - I think it was closer to a flank steak.
Other guests enjoyed their salmon and duck and the appetizers and sides were good - noting special but good.
The decor is such that it's very noisy and difficult to hear from the constant din - everyone's conversation just echoes off the walls making it quite noisy to the point that everyone talks louder which makes it worse. Wait staff were soft spoken and couldn't be heard or hear unless we yelled.
Perhaps a fun place to drink at the bar and watch sports when you expect noise - won't go there for dinner again.
Our server Evelyn was friendly and very helpful in pointing out that we were still in time to take advantage of the Happy Hour oysters. It was a bit crazy but it was Valentines Day. Evelyn convinced one of us to try the surf and turf special fo the evening which he enjoyed very much. My wife and I opted for the tomahawk steak. We were disappointed that it wasn’t presented standing like during our previous visit. Visually it just wasn’t as impressive but the server explained that the standing presentation caused some steaks to slip and fall off the platter. Copperwood may need to consider a new and better platter system with stand to again impressively present the tomahawk. Other steak places have developed more stable stands. The splatchcoked chicken was moist and tender with crispy which another in our group enjoyed. We enjoyed the dinner: food was good, service a little spotty due to Valentine crowd (our second round of wine arrived after we were finished with our entrees). But all the staff were helpful and friendly - made for an enjoyable evening.
What an amazing night! Every dish we ate was flavorful and well prepared. JaRon is the best waiter with excellent food suggestions! The short ribs were tender, the pork chop was seasoned well and brussel sprouts nice and crispy. Can’t wait to go back!
The food was delicious and the service outstanding!
The baked brie was excellent.
The food prices were out of line for the quality. The taste was not something that I will remember. I had the rib-eye and for the price I paid, it should have been worth bragging to my friends that I found a great place. It was unremarkable. The waiter did an outstanding job though.
Based on the menu, I had high hopes for this place, but after some stellar appetizers, the four entrees at our table were hit or miss. The halibut was first-rate, the duck was quite good, the steak was just average, and the rabbit was completely inedible.... One of the worst things I've ever tasted, frankly -- and certainly not worth the price. Service was slow, despite a nearly empty dining room, but our server was pleasant and reasonably attentive. Just not an experience worth paying $400 for. I will not be coming back.
Was a birthday, noted on OpenTable but never mentioned. Server just kind of showed up to our table, no intro, welcome (thought he was just pouring water). No kids menu offered or anything that came with it.
Great happy hour with $3 beer/wine and $1 oysters. Dinner was good but nothing very memorable. Food was warm but not hot. And overpriced in my opinion. Service was fine but again nothing memorable. I don’t feel the need to rush back.
Lots of local made beer and whiskeys, also delicious moonshine. The area is very enjoyable.
Attentive service, but not overbearing. It was our anniversary and we did not want to be rushed. We each ordered the filets, which were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Sides were enormous and equally good. We should have followed our waitress' advice and shared! Wine was delicious, as well as my husband's martini. It was a wonderful evening! Looking forward to returning.
Great location with fantastically friendly staff.
Really disappointed experience overall. Atmosphere is lacking - nothing on the table at all and it was not particularly clean. Service was very slow and were only a handful of parties in the restaurant. My salad was pretty good but no bread or anything which would have been nice addition. The cocktail was excellent. I won’t eat here again.
As always, breakfast here was excellent. We got the blueberry pancakes and the quiche and they were both great. The atmosphere is casual fun and the brunch is amazing everytime.
This place should be better. Had the duck hash and the broth was super salty, almost inedible. The rest of the dish was good, but the grits I ordered on the side were also undercooked and very gritty, not creamy. They give you popcorn instead of complimentary bread, which I would prefer. They don’t provide toast or biscuits with a dish of eggs and potatoes at brunch. Seems kind of cheap. You also have to ask for salt and pepper. Really? The restroom could be cleaner and better maintained (loose seat, difficult latch, paper strewn on floor and the restaurant was nearly empty!). It’s not like they were slammed with customers. Finally, they re-set a table nearby and left popcorn on the floor. Inattention to detail. The prices are quite expensive so overall not a great value. Service was fine. They’d better watch out, there’s a lot of great competition around!
I went a year ago and a friend and I shared the bacon blue cheese mussels. They were delicious and there was plenty of it to share. I have been craving them ever since. I just went again and I was excited to get the mussels again. Well, it was still the same price but now it was in a small bowl with two pieces of bread. I was with a different friend this time and I was embarrassed that it was barely enough to share! So we had to order the Baked Brie appetizer. Another $14 that I didn’t intend on spending. I wouldn’t suggest bringing kids here also. The waiter said they don’t have a written kids menu but he spouted off that they had a sliders meal or Mac n cheese meal. My daughter got the sliders. Maybe it was my mistake for not asking price, but it was $12 for 3 tiny burgers. I figured it would be about $8 or $9. Definitely not worth $12. My daughter only ate 1 of the burgers because she didn’t think they were very good.
I am very disappointed. This place has really gone downhill. That is probably why there was nobody else there at prime dinner time. Other friends of mine went a year or two ago and had a great experience then went again in November with out of town guests. They also were embarrassed with how mediocre the food was. I believe they got the fried green tomatoes and short ribs, just like last time. This time, not so good! I don’t know if you have a different kitchen staff, but you need to get back the old staff!!
Great ambiance and great food! We went at 11 a.m. for a Sunday brunch. Our party of 7 each ordered something different and everyone loved it. Nice atmosphere w a fire burning on a cool day. Will go again!
We all loved our mains which consisted of the pork chop, the venison, and the french onion soup. The sides were good and our server was on point. This place is worth another visit.
Came here for Saturday brunch and it’s a cute little spot. Fun menu items and good atmosphere. They had popcorn with BBQ seasoning. Interesting mix. Wasn’t a fan at first but keto eating it while waiting for food and it kinda grew on me. There’s an outdoor patio and will come back to dine outside when it’s warmer.
Restaurant was not crowded on a Friday night.. that should have been our first clue. Service was descent and the food was mediocre at best. Probably won’t go back.
It was a great experience. Delicious food, we weren’t rushed by the server and he was very helpful in making menu suggestions.
We were really disappointed in our meal at Copperwood Tavern. The first thing we noticed was that the interior is 'worn'. (tear in the bench seat, stain on the wall next to the table, etc.) Next, we were disappointed to find that at 1:00 in the afternoon, they would not serve their lunch menu, only their brunch menu. While our server was very pleasant, it took forever to get our food. When it did come it tasted mediocre and was only lukewarm. Lastly, when we got the check and saw how much it costed, we were shocked. We do not intend to go back and we certainly would not recommend it to a friend.
Brunch was awesome. Good food and service!
Friends get together.
Overall good food and service. The issue I have with the restaurant is the lighting. There are these awful overhead fluorescent lights shining into the dining room, completely ruining the ambiance. The lighting makes you feel like you’re being interrogated. The restaurant seems to have a good attention to detail, you’d think they’d do something about the lighting.
Great food! Andrew was an exceptional server with great personality and recommendations for the evening meal.
The food here is awesome along with the beverages and service!
Service was nice, but very slow. Lobster Mac n cheese was very, very salty. At 7pm, some dishes were already sold out. Disappointing overall.
