We were celebrating a friend’s birthday today at lunch. All of us are foodies and each of us loved our meals.
The only negative was cheesecake for dessert (we had ordered 2 desserts to try because it was a celebration:)!
Unfortunately none of us could eat the cheesecake; when we commented on this to our server she offered us
Another option - but at that point we were full. She then took the cheesecake off of the bill which was a brilliant
Thing to do. I am absolutely certain that each of us will return to this restaurant. The dinner menus looks wonderful
as well and we all want to try it. I should mention that the restaurant was not full for lunch so the noise
Level was quite tolerable; however if it would be full when we next visit, we might have to request that the music
Be turned down a notch. This restaurant is a keeper!
Really understated and first class from reception, seating, decor, menu, prices. Best mussels.
Will definitely recommend a d return. Appreciate the muted music.
First time at this lovely place and we will definitely return.
Decor is beautiful, warm and inviting but not stuffy.
Relaxed atmosphere and excellent, attentive service!
French 75 cocktail was delicious and refreshing.
The lobster risotto was amazing! And you have to try the crab and spinach dip. Of course a bottle
of wine is recommended as well.
White wine not cold and they don’t use ice bucket, raw oyster sauce they use paper cup not professional, geoduck taste fishy I guess is not fresh , no service but it is not a busy night. Highly not recommend. Maybe it is a new restaurant
Excellent meal. Everything cooked to perfection. Loved my black cod and my husbands lobster risoto was delicious. Started with the a seafood platter and the crab dip...to die for. Everything was fresh, and delicious. Fantastic service with a warm, trendy and lively atmosphere, without being too loud. Would highly recommend.
Solid Crudo. Drinks and dessert need to be refined. Crab cakes were rather soggy.
Great date night restaurant. Fantastic location and atmosphere.
Details however are what makes a place ones favorite. Who is the ring master?
We had noted in our res a drink request, which was neither acknowledged by email or on arrival.
Our steak Neptune was excellent, along with the bread and asparagus, however the grilled cod was very salty, too salty.
All in all however a pleasent evening.
Awesome variety of seafood with many creating dishes. I was extremely impressed with the ambiance and branding they have done. I would highly recommend this for seafood lovers but there is also non-seafood items that looks quite amazing too! I will definitely be back to work my way through the menu.
Had a lovely evening with my mum. Great seafood plates. Will definitely recommend to others.
For a newly opened restaurant, Coquille seems well established with good service and a great menu.
The only comment, which isn't limited Coquille, is the inclusion of items in "happy hour" which are the exact same price off their normal menu in non-happy hour periods, in this instance, their feature cocktails. This is always disappointing, and feels like establishments are falsely advertising.
Torn about it this new place in the neighbourhood, so i'll start with the good. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We had the tuna tataki, scallops and cauliflower, smoked black cod and sole as mains, and a nice Chablis to wash it down. Service was a bit slow, which is to be expected at a new restaurant no worries.
But the presentation was awful, and the room lacks warmth (booths are cool, but those grey blank walls and hard floor make it a bit cold and hard -- need some wood! or some art!).
I think they're trying to do two things, but at the wrong price point. One is deliver a high end meal, and the other is to tie in our memories of a fish n chips place in Newport or a seafood blue plate diner somewhere with a steakhouse style menu (order a protein and then some sides). It makes for a profoundly disappointing plate when two small chunks of fish and a lonely lime wedge show up all by themselves. And on a blue rimmed diner style plate. For $38? I'm already losing. But the fish was delicious. So i'm torn. Hope they pick figure it out.
Fantastic space, food and service!
Thoroughly enjoyed the simple approach, letting the ingredients speak. Well executed, no fuss quality seafood is hard to find in this city. Well done at a manageable price point. Hamachi with Thai herbs was excellent with just the right sour and sweet notes. The shrimp and crab salad with egg was refreshing and crushable. Oysters are a must and great starter to the meal, they have a good enough selection at slightly above average prices to suit the space and location.
Great service as well. Will be back.
Really enjoyed it. The octopus and the black cod were outstanding. Can't wait to return.
The food was amazing. I will definitely be back soon.
Lively atmosphere but not too loud. Very attentive service, with great recommendations. Food was fresh, and cooked perfectly. Wish they had at least one other food option to raw oysters on their happy hr special. Would definitely go back again.
Comfort seafood! Really good food! Think they are still working out a few bugs in the system as they just opened, but we were happy with the experience.
