Exceptional food and service. Great seafood find. Good value during Happy Hour
Went during halpy hour: Friendly staff, nicely flavoured dishes and good selection of drinks.
Food was good, service was great, portions are small.
Coquille was a great place to celebrate two birthdays in our family. The staff were attentive and wonderful to our two children who even got a tour of the kitchen. The food is tremendous, with something for everyone on the diverse menu, concentrating on seafood which is beautifully cooked. Thank you to everyone there for a great time!
Waiters are very professional. They don't bother you but they are there when you need them.
The food tasted pretty good and the service was great. However, for an almost $30 main that’s not able to fulfill an average girl I would say it’s pretty pricy.
Amazing food and amazing service can’t remind our servers name but he was a French guy with an accent. Being from
Yeh industry my husband and I are total snobs but everything at Coquille was top notch and in a relaxed atmosphere.
Great job every one.
Our first time there. Awesome Awesome Service. Not a lot of restaurants are like this anymore. Attention to detail. All three servers were very friendly and excellent service. 👍 food is very tasty. Was there with a couple of friends for a bday dinner. Oysters were very fresh and ambiance was very nice. We all had a good time and would definitely come back
Decent menu with range of dishes to suit almost everyone. Food itself was tasty albeit in smaller portions, recommend ordering sides with your entree. Service was excellent.
Another great experience and meal!
Good food but quite chilly inside, temperature wise. The 4 of us for midday brunch never took off our coats. Not sure why so cold and window left open. Service was very good and food solid, substitutions were facilitated easily. The cookies at the end of the meal were a charming touch. Music was so spot on (and at the right nice low level to permit conversation) we had to ask what playlist it was!
Delicious food but incredibly slow service. I was not greeted by my waiter at all. I flagged down the hostess to take my order. We did not get the dessert menu when asked. Food was delicious though!
The food tasted good. Small portion and im surprised that the mains does not have sides with it and you have to order it separately. The ceviche i was excited about but was a but was a bit disappointed to see the tiniest slices of fish and cucumbers and huge chunks of chopped lime... sorry but not coming back here again
Expensive and tiny entrees. Ordered French fries to fill the void. Service slow.
A creative and delicous menu of seafood and fish. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. The ambient noise is a bit high and our server spoke quietly so was hard to catch everything he said. I don’t recommend the Water St window seats. We were seated there and endured a street person loitering and drinking on the other side of the window.
We had a great dinner. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced. Service was wonderful--we weren't neglected nor was our server overwhelming us.
Exquisite. From the decor to the menu, everything is thoughtful and well executed. We especially loved the broiled & grilled oysters and the bouillabaisse.
good food and service, a good addition to Vancouver's restaurant scene
Relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Attentive but not obtrusive service particularly appreciated -- always nice to have good service when solo
The food was outstanding - had previously only been here for drinks and snacks but dinner was delicious. The service was also fantastic. I love coming here, the staff are so friendly and very professional (a rarity for Vancouver).
Great ambience, food and service! They’ve done a great job giving it a warm & trendy look compared to the previous restaurant! The food was delicious and big portions! Service was attentive but not intrusive! Loved the experience!
The quality of the food was superb. The seafood is fantastic, with a focus on Pacific Westcoast cuisine. I had the lobster risotto which was terrific. The only negative was that the service was a little slow and one of our dishes was cold when it came out. The restaurant has only been opened very recently, so I just chalked it up to a new restaurant still trying to iron out some of the kinks. Otherwise, lovely experience and will be definitely going again in the future.
The food was very good quality, and for that level, good value for money. The service was to notch!
Food is delicious! The environment is fantastic! However I really missed a Lobster option (right now is just a risotto) as it is a fine seafood restaurant.
Nice food, Nice Place.
Fresh local oyesters was very good. Clean and tasty
The lobster risotto was absolutely amazing. Portions were very favourable. Reasonable price. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to in gastown
Dinner was excellent. Staff was very attentive to our needs. Food came out quickly and tasted great. The seafood is very fresh.
Lovely change of atmosphere for Gastown.
Servers were attentive. Oysters were yummy.
The fish itself was very good but what it was served with was not a good match
The mushrooms over powered the delicious halibut and the green apples were too tart with the delicate scallops
We arrived with two flutes champagne on the table. They knew it was our anniversary as we indicated, but they didn’t have to do that. So it made our evening ever so more special. The food was magnificent and the service was splendid. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable!
I came here on a Saturday for a get-together with six other girlfriends for lunch. The menu looked amazing. I got the bouillabaisse and it was amazing. It tasted wonderful with plenty of seafood in the mix. Service was attentive and we loved the decor. I would love to come back and try other items on their menu...especially their dinner menu.
This restaurant is owned by the same people as Abattoir, an excellent restaurant. They are obviously having some big problems managing a second location. The kitchen here is putting out poor food and the floor needs much better training.
Very uneven. Room nice, but the food was a huge disappointment. Service had issues.
The ceviche was very good, but downhill from there. The crab cake was like rubber swimming in a pool of algae sludge. Looked like it was deep fried and overcooked. Tasted aweful. We were told the squid was sauted and stuffed, but what came was just pieces of squid covered in a corn flake crust and over cooked. It was deep fried, not pan sauted and nearly burnt. What is with deep frying everything?
The hostess was very nice and accommodating. We then had a French waitress who was personable, but did not know the menu correctly. Then appeared a young male waiter/busser who kept wiping our table with dirty rag. This was disgusting.
Lastly, we ordered Americanos, but what came was clearly not what we ordered . When the hostess brought our bill we commented on the poor coffee. She said they had no espresso machine, yet the young waiter insisted it was Americanos when we asked. Her comment was that he was new and didn't know better. Well, he would if he was properly trained.
Overall, if things don't improve, this restaurant won't be around in six months unless they have very deep pockets. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Awesome happy hour
Great experience, awesome service!
Nico ... manager ... has been awesome !
He made the experience a coming back one ...
I was a bit disappointed by the sailor’s platter. There was sauce on the crab which to my opinion doesn’t fit. That was sauce on the shellfish also. I also think that the plate was too expensive for what was in it. But the oysters were very good and we enjoyed the area and the wine that we had. So I don’t know if I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Very disappointing. We arrived during happy hour, they were out of octopus, which judging from the restaurant's decor (octopus at entry and octopus prints on the wall), should have been a feature dish. Bummer. Since they call themselves "Fine Seafood", I was expecting the scallop appetizer to be seared - it was fried. The broiled oysters and fritto misto (deep fried seafood), were good but the burrata was boring. For mains we ordered spaghetti with clams $21, lobster risotto $28 and bouillabaisse $29. The spaghetti with shriveled up tasteless clams were embarrassing and looked more like a side dish. The bouillabaisse was fishy, and not in a good way. The clams and mussels were off. Bleh! The lobster risotto was the best dish of the night and had a decent amount of lobster pieces. We ended the meal with a banana cream pie which was, again, nothing to write home about. We shared one slice and still left half of it behind. Good thing we arrived during happy hour so our bottle of house white was half price ($30) coz our bill still came to $225 for 3 people after 15% tip. So not worth it!
The house salad was excellent and so was the ling cod but the rest of our appetizers and meal were a bit disappointing considering this restaurant was referred to us by a couple who said it was their favourite.
I liked the food, service and atmosphere but what is holding this place back is the wine list. The wine is over priced and there is a poor selection. Only a few bottles under $80 and house red wine starts at $63 for a bottle.
We only have 2 categories for restaurants we visit, "Repeat" or "not Repeat".
This was definitely a Repeat. Excellent quality. Had the steamed mussels for lunch, best in town.
