As other reviewers have posted, it is a less than amazing dining experience at Corazon de Tierra. The restaurant is incredibly over-priced for Valle de Guadalupe, especially considering the quality of the meal & service. The meal was definitely enjoyable and tasty--but it was nothing spectacular. We are based in LA and the restaurants that make you buy tickets and pre-pay upfront for the meal are usually the extremely high end restaurants that are mind blowing--for instance Vespertine and Trois Mec. Both of which are insanely expensive but worth every penny and are breathtaking dining experiences. Corazon's food was good, but did not reach to the echelons of fine dining for us. The servers also did not know what a lot of dishes were or the ingredients. Part of what you're paying (or over-paying for) is the presentation. I would not recommend this based on the price, if it were half the price then I would recommend it.

I would call this restaurant's scheme borderline robbery but that's a bit too strong. If you're going to charge people ~70 pp in the Valle before gratuity you're going to have to deliver, and deliver they absolutely did not. I felt like there was a total lack of transparency in what you were getting after pre-paying for the whole meal. The first strike was tagging an 18% service charge without warning when making the reservation. I was surprised to find the total amount on my credit card statement to be well over the $140 for 2 people. The food was just OK -- lacking substance for the cost. When we arrived, there was no introduction or setting of the course as to what we were going to be served. That can be fine -- we were hungry and ready for an exquisite and unique dining experience. Those expectations slowly went down the drain as each course came out and the waitress could hardly explain what she was presenting. She also hardly spoke any English (which was surprising for an establishment that's visited by majority tourists), and that would normally be a non-issue, but when you've already pre-paid for the service and expensive experience, you expect the server to be able to describe what she is presenting on the plate and do it well. I could do with my baby Spanish but was disappointed by the dullness of plate delivery/presentation. It would've been nice to have a printed menu of what we were going to be served upon arrival, or at least something more informative. She would recite a couple of things then just walk away. Ultimately, the food was just OK -- nothing wow'd us and the portions were way too tiny for the cost. The water was also extra charge which wasn't even surprising by the end of the meal. Given there are so many other wonderful options in the Valle for a FRACTION of the cost (i.e. MALVA -- go!, Finca Altozano, etc.) I wish I would've avoided this place.

Upon arrival, despite we had reserved 2 months in advance through open table, we were told that we should have paid in advance 50% of the tasting menu; that they tried to contact us by mail and phone but were unable to do so. How come, if Open table sent me a confirmation, is it possible that the restaurant could not send an e-mail? We were finally seated and the place was never full. The tasting menu was very bland. There is only Tasting Meny and not a reegular menu. The price of the Tasting menu was 80 dlls/person + 65 dlls/ person if you ask for maridage (with wine included). It is nos worth the drive but is definitely not worth the price.

The food was very good, served in 5 courses, very innovative in flavors and presentation. However, even with 5 courses, there was not enough food (I am not a big eater), and the wine by the glass was short in quantity as well. My problem with the restaurant is the very expensive pricing (without disclosure) for the “add-ons” of 1 after dinner brandy, 1 cappuccino, and 1 pre dinner cocktail. Our final bill showed these items added up to close to $100, after the 2 fixed price dinners and 3 glasses of wine (two people). This made the final bill around $250, too much in my view.

I ate here in May '16. It was a memorable meal. I ate here again in Dec '17, and things have gone waaaay downhill. We did the tasting menu, and while two dishes were outstanding, and the rest were mediocre. Very disappointing.

Terrible food. Understandably it’s an experimental dining experience but I couldn’t stomach anything. The best part of the meal was the bread with pesto: Great concept for architecture and amazing service. Took us 45 minutes to find the place. Sadly the manager was very difficult when it came to finding a solution.

I had read some greta reviews about this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The only reason I didn't score the food excellent is I didn't think it a 5, maybe a 4.7 because I've had better in Chicago, NYC and Rome. It is an outstanding price for a tasting menu at $75 and its in a beautiful wine valley. In other cities this meal would cost $200. Anyone interested in eating at a restaurant with a fabulous chef should definitely eat here. I'm a vegetarian and the chef accommodated 100%.

I’m not one for reviews so I will be brief. Good food, a little pricey. Overall I would go try the food truck, just for variety, next time at vena cava. Farm to table to the highest level. Good service. Hard to get to.

Does not live for it´s reputation. We travelled all around the region and had so much better food for less money. Not having á la carte options and force you to have the tasting menu is a little bit unpleasant. Portions are tiny (even for these kind of restaurants) and some of the dishes were poorly cooked. Would rather recommend a lot of other places in Valle.

After several previous excellent dinners at Corazon de Tierra, dinner there this Thanksgiving was a very expensive major disappointment. Several of the dishes were weird--raw or little-cooked turnips, parsnips, and carrots. I put them aside after taking one bite. The meat course of turkey breast had good sauces but seemed like some sort of pressed meat. Service was very slow--three hours. Wines paired with the courses were themselves good but often seemed poorly paired with the food. Sound track being played was weird and annoying; after being not too loud it got louder and we did get them to turn it down. Price was hugely excessive--tasting meal with wine pairing at Laja is half the price and far, far better. We brought friends who hadn't eaten at Corazon de Tierra before, and we were embarrassed. I say that I'd recommend it only because so many previous meals had been outstanding, but I'd tell friends that they should go there only if they check for recent reports and can find in advance that the prices aren't outrageous. Judging from this meal, something has gone badly wrong here and needs prompt fixing.

Definitivamente un must en el Valle de Guadalupe, situado en el corazón de este Valle donde se elaboran los mejores vinos de México, el menú de tiempos tiene buenas proporciones y excelente equilibrio entre los alimentos, algunos cosechados dentro de la huerta del propio restaurante.

No responde a lo que proyectan y el Mercado indica. Inclusive los galardones que se dicen. La comida es muy buena pero tiempo de cocina prolongado. Lo más negativo fueron las moscas incluidas con el menú. El lugar no amerita la bienvenida a las moscas. No va.

It was a shame, we were celebrating the engagement of my sister in law and we were asked if anyone had allergies or didn't eat something . Our answer was that two of us don't eat any giblets or animal organs. The waiter laughed at us and said that won't be any on that days menu and for the main course they gave us sweetbread, making no commitment to their previous question. We wouldn't recommend it because of the small details that made a potentially amazing dinner into one we didn't enjoy. I think they should be more careful with their customers and service overall.

El lugar está muy lejos. El valor es muy alto respecto de la comida que te dan. Porciones muy pequeñas y no es tan sabroso como presumen. Servicio muy lento. En resumen, no lo recomiendo.

Decepcionante. Ya no es lo que era, el sabor, el producto y el cocinado no es de un restaurante supuestamente de primera. El servicio no corresponde al precio tampoco y para terminar, la carta de vinos es pésima, solo de viñedo vena cava que es vino mediocre . Si no van a hacer caso de esta reseña lo entiendo por qué yo no hice caso tampoco y me arrepiento, por lo menos lleven su propio vino para que algo les guste.

You can tell the chefs put a lot of effort and consideration to come up with each dish, the staff was corgial and thorough with explaining the food and wine. Overall I had an excellent dining experience here.

Supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Latin America. I found the food good, but with a $250 USD for 2 price tag I expected more. I want a dish that will be memorable, not just good. Service was good and the location was nice. Unfortunately I won't be coning back due to no wow factor for the value.

Llegar fue un poquito difícil porque él Google maps me hizo dar una vueltota. Es mejor hacerle caso a los letreros. Pero valió la pena, el restaurante esta original, cálido, bonito, una combinación de modernidad con artesanía y Méxicanidad. La comida deliciosa! Excelente presentación, el personal muy amable y la degustación de vino súper recomendable. Me hubiera gustado visitar la alberca, el hotel y los alrededores, no los visite porque NO SABÍA QUE ESTABAN! Lo supe hasta que alguien me preguntó. Les sugiero que se lo comenten a sus comensales. Muchas gracias fue una gran experiencia

This place was absolutely amazing. The food and service was excellent. The setting was very cool. I would rate it 5 stars except for the heat & fly problem. It was 100 degrees outside and they had all the windows open with the A/C barely on, which doesn't make sense, but it was hot as hell in there. And because the windows were open, we were sweating and swatting away flies the entire time. It was hard to really enjoy the experience and setting when you're dripping sweat into your food and swatting multiple flies away every 2 seconds. If they can fix the heat and fly issue it would be well worth the $75/person and I would go here again.

We had a really memorable meal, the beautiful natural elegance of the restaurant was really comfortable, the enthusiasm of the staff was infectious and the dishes were beautifully presented and we savored and lingered over the creative and fresh flavor combinations. It was quite a ways down an unpaved road which made us feel like we were on a journey, so I recommend an SUV because I doubt that AAA emergency roadside service is available if you blow a tire!

We enjoy this restaurant very much. The reason that I have reduced a star is not due to food, quality of food, etc. It is simply for 2 reasons. 1. The amount of wine poured with the wine pairings is very minimal, probably less than two ounces. 2. There is no easy access to the restaurant and the drive is brutal on the long, bumpy, pothole-filled dirt roads that you have to take to get to the restaurant

Food is good but that's all, the entire experience is a fiasco, it might be that I was there at 4 and the sun burns the tables next to the window, plus the flies and the waiters' manners make your experience just unbearable. There is only one menu and they take 10 minutes between them, unacceptable. The place is nice, food is ok, but service is a total NO.
