Wow! Everything was absolutely amazing. The food was incredible and unique, great value and portion sizes. Service was friendly and quick. This restaurant is a gem, so glad I found it on here and I highly recommend. We had the 5 course dinner and vegetarian meals. Everything from the presentation and taste of the food was fabulous. Every bite was a different explosion of flavours.

Came here on a Saturday evening in early January and it was pretty nice. Since it was still somewhat early (1800) it wasn’t super busy yet it was quieter but as soon after when the restaurant filled up it got really loud and busy for their front of house staff which cause their speed to take a hit. Considering lack of speed during latter half, front of house staff was still attentive and provided quality service.

I really enjoyed the food. It was well balanced, executed and plated.

I had the foie gras torchon starter and biggest drawback was one of my two slices of brioche was badly burned but staff were able to get me a replacement pretty quick and without a problem. The rest of the dish was great; the richness of the foie gras was offset really well with the tanginess of the apple.

I had the rabbit two ways for entree and thought it was pleasant. Was definitely one of the juicier rabbits I’ve ever had. Great cook on it.

I simply adored the panna cotta with coffee jelly and espresso crumble, the light and silky smooth texture of the panna cotta paired delightfully with the punchy, bitter notes of the coffee and espresso. I’d definitely recommend it for sure!

We enjoyed an evening out at Core with a party of five and although many aspects were excellent it seemed odd that the restaurant never really became busy despite being a Friday during the Holiday season. The food and service were both excellent beginning with the charcuterie board filled with tasty selections of meats and cheeses. We also tried the Tuna appetizer which was well executed and fresh. For the mains we had one of each dish from the selection of four and all were delicious in their own way. We even had orders of desert- the lemon tart and the chocolate mousse - again both had a nice balance of flavours. Service was great - attentive without being overbearing - and if it wasn’t for the lack of other diners and the cheesy 80s cover songs I would even give the ambience a perfect score too. I don’t usually provide reviews for sites like these, but I felt compelled to do my part in helping to keep an establishment with a talented kitchen staff and well run front of house from closing up shop. I don’t live in the area, but we all need to support places like this if we want our local neighbourhoods vibrant and unique. Enjoy!

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was fantastic - we selected the 5 course tasting menu in a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was quiet (which we loved) and the service fantastic. You definitely leave full as the courses are substantial enough.

Couldn’t help but notice you had on the same playlist as last time I was there.... but I’m likely the only one who notices these things.

Great night out! Thanks.

The fall menu has a short rib pappardelle with root vegetables that was the best pasta dish I have had for a while anywhere.

The oysters were as fresh as can be and I was pleased to see the Tuna Crudo got a menu extension from the summer.

The service staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and discrete - a perfect accessory to a beautiful food experience.

I try to visit every time I am in Toronto. Its worth the drive to Leslieville.

This was my second time at Core, and it was wonderful. We started with martinis, cheese and charcuterie. For mains, one of us had the pappardelle, the other the scallops and soup, and I had the Cornish hen. They were all fantastic. This is honest, accessible fine dining with wonderful service.

I haven’t gushed like I’m about to for restaurant and experience in Toronto in a very long time. The wine list is fantastic (which we didn’t even need as the Sommelier HD a great recommendation and selection). The blind tasting menu was perfectly balanced, flavourful and visually stunning. Interesting and surprising elements throughout the meal. The service was exceptional - kind and non-pretentious servers and a super helpful and friendly staff. Definitely my new favourite spot in the East end.

Staff were welcoming and service excellent. The menu was interesting, unfortunately the food wasn't as good as I'd hoped. The scallop starter was a miss, I didn't like the flavours of scallops and bell peppers together, although individually they were delicious. Then my main, the beef, was super yummy flavour-wise, but the beef was tough. I really wanted to love this place. It was only OK.

The restaurant was very quiet and intimate. Great value for basically fine dining at mid level prices. Highly recommend!

Went for a reunion with an old friend and was late. My friend had been very well taken care of while he waited. Started off with an excellent and bountiful charcuterie platter made up of some delicious cured meats and beautiful artisan cheeses. This was complemented by and very nice cab selected by the very friendly and approachable sommelier/owner. We followed with two amazing entries ( one succulent chicken dish , and a lucious pork tenderloin). The service was fantastic: our server was knowledgable and friendly with a wonderfully sincerity about her. I finished my meal with a just awesome warm chocolate mousse and an espresso. Well worth the drive from Hamilton; and I can't wait to go back. Think I need another reunion soon

Our second visit to Core was even better than our first, which is saying a lot! My husband and I opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings, and from the first taste of the bread with house-churned butter, straight through to the scrumptious panna cotta at the end of the meal, every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The tuna tataki and the sturgeon were particular standouts, but honestly, every course was a hit, as was the paired wine. Between the food, and the perfect mix of cool-plus-casual ambiance, Core is officially our new go-to spot.

We celebrated our daughter’s convocation at Core. The atmosphere was lovely. We started with delicious handcrafted cocktail. Shared olives and oysters for the table along with house made bread. We each had starters and mains which were paired with good wine. The food was fantastic. Our server was one of the best we have had. Two in our party are chefs and their praise was quite high for this restaurant.
