Cosima is located inside the old boiler room of the Mill No. 1 building, which has been nationally recognized for its painstaking renovation. Both the menu and atmosphere provide a warm inviting environment for friends, families and neighbors to gather and perhaps discover a part of the city many Baltimoreans have never seen. Dining on Cosima’s outdoor patio will offer incredible views of the historic Jones Falls waterway.
Sicily, and the surrounding Southern Italian region, is known for fresh and seasonal ingredients but is also a mix of all surrounding Mediterranean cuisines. Sicily was once home to Greeks, Arabs, French and Spanish – all lending their cultures to create modern Sicilian and Italian heritage.

Amazing staff. Everyone was so friendly and food was yummy! Would visiting them again soon.
I had a great time at Cosima. We were welcomed by courteous manager and waitress and every costumers were treated like VIPs.
I went for the lobster fettuccine and I’m very satisfied with the dish. My boyfriend had chicken and the fruity and slightly citric seasoning was perfect.
It’s my second visit and I would definitely go back for more.
I took a friend to treat her to a birthdy dinner. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Seeing Donna was a bonas.
Good food....better environment....Chazz our waiter was great
It was a lovely experience! My entree was just OK, but the appetizer and seasonal cocktails = delicious!
This was our third time here and we were disappointed. It took 30 mins to get drinks and another 20 to get apps. 8pm reservation and left at 10:45 on a Tuesday. Was not pleased.
I love going to Cosima. The bar area is great, the patio is wonderful, and they have a lot of cozy spots set up inside. It's the perfect restaurant for any occasion.
Cosima delivered the delicious goods! The surroundings are beautiful inside & out...and the food is exquisite. If you like pork as I do, order the porchetta....beyond fabulous. My husband was quite jealous but I took him some home. And the lavender panna cotta was to die for, though luckily I survived...
Oh, and our server was terrific....knowledgeable & right on the mark
Consistently a great place to dine with friends or one on one. Nice mix of choices on the menu. Always able to find options for each person. Everything I have tried has been outstanding. The space is fun. Staff is well informed on the menu and wines. Free parking is a great asset, too!
We didn't realize that it was restaurant week until we arrived. We have dined at Cosima before and love the all of the creative options that the menu has to offer. We were disappointed at the limited choices on the fixed price menu because we didn't have the flexibility to order a variety of small plates or other dishes. Also don't like that you have to order dessert. We will return another time for your delicious ala carte menu!
Food was wonderful, atmosphere is great, staff are super, including being very helpful with dietary requirements of one of our group
Service was not great, but the food made up for it!
Best outdoor seating in the city. It's pricey enough where it's definitely a special treat-- but it's well worth it. The deal for restaurant week was excellent and the food is always good. But the star is definitely the patio.
Very good dining experience !!!
Service was also very good but but the only downfall was the waiter should have advised the tip was included/posted when check arrived (and not placed check on table without comment).
Not a real Southern Italian food. Everything is very plain and overpriced
It was restaurant week so the place was hoppin. We are regulars but got put upstairs next to the generator which vibrated our table the whole night. It was also very hot. The food was really good except for the sardine pasta which really tasted like too many canned sardines. It was fishy and salty and not my taste at all. Everything else had character and great flavor.
The food was amazing. Look forward to enjoying dinner at Cosima again soon!
What a fantastic restaurant!
We came here for restaurant week as a follow up experience to a previous birthday dinner here a year ago. Tonight, our server was either underprepared or overwhelmed with simple questions about the menu or requests for recommendations. My Arancini appetizer was undersized compared to other appetizers going by (only the restaurant week menu was available). My entree, the boar with tomato sauce and polenta was not memorable. I did enjoy the panna cotta dessert. To top things off, I forgot my to go box on the table and came back for it less than ten mins later. I was met with shrugs, that it had been thrown out already. This was really the straw that broke the camel’s back. You’d think they would keep a to go box for at least 15-20 mins to see if the person might come back for it, especially mine that basically had a full meal in it. Waste of money. I don’t recommend this place at all.
I'm not sure some of the wait staff understands the menu.
Good dining, great service. Distinctive design and ambiance.
My date and I tried to dine here on Thursday, August 2nd but the physical temperature and humidity was unbearable. We are not divas in any way and felt bad for leaving but it was unbearable. We feel this is not the norm and look forward to returning and enjoying everything Cosima has to offer.
Food & service were great, but the ambiance and people watching upstairs don't compare--are non-existant-- to one of the main level dining areas.
The food was great, the ambience was great. However, our waitress made a few rude comments during our meal and told us that dessert items were out of stock when they were actually still being prepared for other tables.
I was disappointed in Cosima overall. The ambiance was nice, liked the warehouse feel and lighting, etc. Our waitress seemed knowledgable about the food and wine, she made some good selections. However, the food was inconsistent. Our apps were all good. But our entrees ranged from really good to eh. My sister and I had the shrimp risotto. No where on the menu did it mention scallops, even though there were bay scallops in the dish--my sister hates scallops. Had that been on the menu she would have gone with something else, so that sadly ruined her dish. I felt the dish was nothing special and somewhat bland. I wish I had gone with something else since it was pretty lackluster. My other sister LOVED the pork belly stuffed pork chop. My other sister had the fettucini pomodoro and said it was good, but pretty basic and nothing that really stuck out to her. Desserts were decent for the most part. I ordered the cannoli which was orange infused with chocolate chips--there was not one chocolate chip on the plate, and it was sooooo orange-flavored that it lost its appeal. The other girls had the panna cotta and the chocolate cake and both were good. But sadly, nothing stands out as excellent. I was really disappointed in the lack of effort the waitress put in to asking the bartender to make me a non-alcoholic cocktail. I am 5 months pregnant and wanted to see if there were any specialty cocktails the bartender could make without the hard liquor--she flat out said no. I have never had a bartender NOT be able to make a cocktail without the liquor, so this was shocking. They had run out of the non-alcoholic beer, so I had water. I did have a small glass of red wine with dinner which was very good, but I really felt like the waitress should have at least asked the bartender what he/she could do for me before she told me no. In the end, we all felt it was ok but not worth the cost and would probably not come back.
The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my appetizer and after after a dash of salt, my entree. They ran out of the dessert I originally ordered and the replacement was not enjoyable at all. The ambiance was really nice and the cocktails were great! The service was a bit off. It was pretty busy but the bartender and our server once we were seated could have listened better to make their jobs a lot easier.
Our server was attentive and helpful. The food choices were a delightful change and very much like Sicily which we love.
Made a special birthday even more special. The weather was perfect for a night on the water. Food was EXCELLENT!! Service was superb!!! Everyone who walked by gave a Happy Birthday message and we had nothig on the table signifying a birthday. Great communication within their team. Top Notch service!
Excellent food, great outdoor seating, lovely building and setting--- a real gem.
It was our first time, and we chose to go during Restaurant Week. We were really impressed with everything. The food was delicious, and portions were good, not too much as you often get in other italian restaurants. Our server Tommy was delightful, and very helpful to us in making our selections, from drinks to food. All the staff were very nice and accommodating. And the ambiance is beautiful. It's a little odd getting there for the first time as it's rather hidden, but it's such a lovely gem. I'd like to go back soon.
Ist time there, during restaurant week, and it was amazing. Can' wait to go back.
Just like always everything was very good at Cosima. We went for Baltimore Restaurant Week special.
The options were diverse and creative. Bar service was well done, cocktails were thoughtful and unique, they may have underestimated the strength of the star anise in one drink, a little overwhelming. Server was polite, friendly, professional a very comfortable wailing experience, water needs refills a little more often due to smaller size of table carafe. Apps of arancini, grilled sardines, meatballs, and salad all excellent. Entrees clever, but three out of four not available on Sunday night 7:00 PM? Wild boar ragu good, shrimp polenta good small serving, pasta good - however, gnocchi were amazing.
Dessets again 3 of our choices out of 4 not available, makes it a challenge when choosing off a set menu already.
Cosima has been excellent for us in the past - possibly the best grilled octopus ever, even while in Greece. This time was good like always but a challenge with all the 86 items on a pre fix menu on a Sunday evening.
Will go back again but for the regular menu.
All of our food was outstanding. It is restaurant week and the selection of items was fantastic. It was hard to choose. I sampled what everyone else ordered and really all of the food was the best I've had in a long time. I want to go back to try more items on the menu.
Enjoyed a great meal during restaurant week. Each course was expertly prepared and our server was attentive without hovering. The atmosphere is both elegent and relaxed and well suited to having a good time. The owner/executive chef visited our table during our visit; which is something we did not expect. I will definitely visit Cosima again in the near future.
Text on menu absurdly small. Server difficult to understand. Noise level is high. Service slow, missing something. The food was delicious. Would have been even better had bottle of wine arrived with meal. Cocktails expensive but tasty.
We sat outside so it was quiet. I'd highly recommend sitting on the patio. Inside is more noisy but not obnoxious. Food was delicious!
AMAZING! Our food was incredible. Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had! Told all of my co-workers about the next day and several have gone since then and LOVED it!
The food here is just ok, which can come as a shock when you see the prices. Plating was extremely simple, which I chose to write off because they are going for a resurrection of “grandma’s Sicilian recipes.”
What truly makes this place shine is the atmosphere. As you drive down the steep, curving driveway you feel like you enjoy stumbled upon an intimate secret. Every employee I encountered (including the chef herself!) was encredibly warm and helpful. The interior atmosphere was moody and perfectly decorated down to the smallest detail. The character of the mill left intact but elevated and the lighting was perfect to create a cozy atmosphere.
We chose to sit on the outdoor patio overlooking the river. There is no sign of the city around you as you are cocooned in the mill. A concrete tunnel bridge sweeps overhead connecting the two mill buildings separated by the river. The facade of both buildings, gritty as expected of a mill but expertly restored with period appropriate windows.
I would go here again just to enjoy the atmosphere even if they decided to charged $40 for a bowl of Cheerios.
Their website did not specify that ONLY the restaurant week menu was available. Very limited options, we wanted to experience the full menu.
Food was just "okay".
Sardine pasta was horrible. Tasted like tuna noodle casserole. That dish should be light, salty, bright, with lemon and charred sardines. Instead it was gooey, paste like garbage. They should be ashamed.
One highlight was dessert, every dessert was fabulous and the pastry chef should be lauded.
Have written prior excellent reviews. All that i can add is that this is Restaurant Week, and in contrast to some restaurants, Cosima’s special menu offered several choices in each of three courses, all interesting and excellent ones, for a terrific dinner exceeding restaurant week expectations!
