This unique and tranquil setting in the heart of the city offers views of the water, opportunities for Great Blue Heron sightings, and of course chef Donna Crivello’s take on Sicilian and Southern Italian cuisine.

Cosima is located inside the old boiler room of the Mill No. 1 building, which has been nationally recognized for its painstaking renovation. Both the menu and atmosphere provide a warm inviting environment for friends, families and neighbors to gather and perhaps discover a part of the city many Baltimoreans have never seen. Dining on Cosima’s outdoor patio will offer incredible views of the historic Jones Falls waterway.

Sicily, and the surrounding Southern Italian region, is known for fresh and seasonal ingredients but is also a mix of all surrounding Mediterranean cuisines. Sicily was once home to Greeks, Arabs, French and Spanish – all lending their cultures to create modern Sicilian and Italian heritage.

Food was excellent as always, but I reserved outdoor seating and we were seated inside in essentially an alcove.

Asked for a quiet table and got a great spot on the lower level near the front entrance. Service very attentive. Food never fails to satisfy at Cosima.

First time EVER that we were disappointed with the food. :(

Space is cool, but the experience ends there. On our evening draft beer was unavailable due to their equipment being out of service. Then out of various items we would have ordered. Then the rules kick in, no you can’t have one scoop of two different gelato’s, but the normal serving is two of the same for $7, if you want one scoop of different flavors we can do that for $14, WHAT? And the final kicker is we can’t split your bill with different credit cards unless they are all equal! Really? We spend $1,000’s of dollars monthly at restaurants and that is a first. Will not be returning to this establishment.

Unfortunately, our experience at Cosima was not what we had hoped for. We placed our order and waited about 45 minutes without a visit from our waiter. Having placed an appetizer order, we were surprised when all of a sudden our entrees arrived. Our entrees were then taken back to the kitchen and another 20 minutes went by before our appetizers arrived. We were still hopeful that the food would be delicious and redeem the poor service but we were all disappointed. Out of the 4 entrees and 2 appetizers ordered, the only thing really worth eating was the Pizza of the Day which obviously isn't a regular menu item.
On a positive note, the manager was apologetic and did comp a large portion of our meal for which we were grateful.

We have been here many times, but this was the most disappointing visit. The food lacked flavor and the prices just continue to climb. If you are going to offer entrees for $38 or more, they better be awesome. We always struggle with the wine list and prices. So few familiar offerings and fully priced. Bring your own and pay the corkage.

Food and service was excellent! Great secluded location nestled down a long driveway to valet parking and a very aesthetic building on the Falls river. Definitely a nice find that we were not looking for, but fell upon! Will definitely go again. The bar tender Jim is a professional and the meals during happy hour were fresh, varied and authentic small dishes. We got one of each to sample because we couldn't decide!

I would not recommend this restaurant. Parts of the menu were misleading, some of the entrees came, my husband waited 30 mins. for his potatoes to come. It was Mother's Day, not packed, not impressed. I was excited to dine here, but very disappointing.

Service was unusually slow/poor this experience. We had to wait 30 minutes for our table to be ready. It took our server a long time to take our drink order and bring wine/drinks to the table. Service was quite slow despite being there later in the evening. This would not deter me from returning - Cosima is one of my favorite places here in Baltimore - but this was a very different experience from those past.

We enjoyed our first visit to Cosima. Our server, Chaz B. was knowledgeable about the wine as well as the food. He was professional, and very pleasant. We started with the mixture of calamari, smelts and shrimp. The batter was very light and the calamari was sooo... tender. I had the half lobster with black ink pasta. I was super satisfied. The lobster was tender, not chewy. My husband had the tuna which was rare, just the way he prefers. We are excited to return and try some new items.

My wife and I are frequent visitors but generally come in for a relaxed meal at the bar. We miss Elliott who was a terrific bartender and provided outstanding service. On this most recent night we were with a larger party and so made a reservation in the main dining room. Our waitress started out attentive enough but things quickly went downhill. Our appetizer came out in a timely matter but we ended up having to wait over 30-40 mins between courses. Our server only did a passing fly by just once and we had to flag down other waitstaff to check on what was going on. To make matters worse there was little interest in how to make things right. Our server made members of our party feel diminished and unwelcome. Donna did try her best to be accommodating and make the best of a very unpleasant situation. This was all terribly unfortunate because we have probably visited over a dozen times. Perhaps it’s time to take a break and give the owners an opportunity to engage their waitstaff and instill in them that their job is the represent all the good work that is happening in the kitchen and to “ delight their customer” each and every time.

Everything was great - the food was wonderful! Our only complaint is that, even though the place was large and mostly empty when we arrived - the hostess still seated us at a table uncomfortably close to another occupied table. The other guests were right at our elbows! Guests should be spread out when possible - especially since we made a reservation in advance and expected to be treated well! Other than that - an amazing dining experience and we look forward to our next trip!

I enjoyed delicious Arancini and Tonno alla Griglia, accompanied by a crisp Italian white. The portions were generous, and the service first-rate. A lovely setting, too—tastefully modern within a fully restored old mill complex. Complimentary valet parking down a long driveway leading to the restaurant entrance. If you drive, make sure you approach that driveway from the Roland Avenue end of Falls Road.

We were surprised by a Sunday menu that allowed you to order combinations with other people. It was wonderful, the food was outstanding, very delicious, with wonderful flavors, and plenty to eat. The prices were amazing based on this

Cosima was so good that I feel I should revise all my previous reviews of other restaurants downwards to be fair. The Sunday Mangia! menu is prix fixe for couples. The first course is one of several pairings of appetizers, meaning that you make one selection and share the two items served. The second course is a single item--but again to be shared. The dessert course is again one of several available two-item offerings to share. Confusing at first? Yes! But a great idea? YES! We were two couples so we enjoyed sharing 4 different appetizers & desserts, and two main courses served family style. It was really a lot of fun. The food was simply the best that any of us had enjoyed in recent memory. The wait staff was most knowledgeable and the wine list was excellent. The space is beautifully decorated in an old mill alongside of Jones Falls. Fancy signature cocktails are available as are well-made traditional drinks. Good music was playing.

I went here for Sunday Brunch the other day with my husband. They have Sicilian inspired cuisine and wine. They also have brunch cocktails available of course. The food was excellent and I don’t typically enjoy sweet dishes for brunch, but their French toast with candied bacon was amazing! We plan to go back another time to try their dinner menu which looks equally as impressive.

Beyond the food the service was great and the location/building is awesome and provides a great ambiance. I would recommend checking this place out. Price moderate to high but they definitely serve high quality food, so it’s worth the price. They have free valet parking which is nice too.

Never disappointed in the food here, or the ambiance but it got off to a very slow start. It was a Saturday evening and busy, but when you see your waiter staring out into space after you have been sitting there for over 10 minutes it's a little annoying. Finally after about 5 more minutes I was able to get his attention and he took our drink orders. After about another 15 minutes when we had received neither our cocktails or and breadsticks, (we were starving at this point, it had been almost 30 minutes!) I got his attention again and within 2 couple of minutes we received our cocktails and breadsticks. After that everything was fine and our food came at good intervals, but it was a rough beginning. I loved our waiter's personality and his recommendations were spot on he just needs to be there at the beginning of your seating. Love the place and will definitely be back.

Nice, pleasant atmosphere and congenial staff. Too bad the food did not live up to the hype, AND it was way over-priced. Over $225 including tip that included two drinks and a moderately priced bottle of wine....really?!?! Wouldn't have been too bad if the food had been good. The lobster dish with black fettucini was mediocre at best, and the eggplant pasta so-so. A disappointing evening, to say the least.

Fantastic night at Cosima! Whole fish branzino and the lasagna verde were great main courses, and the arancini di riso and roasted cauliflower were perfect appetizers. I had the Citta Vuota cocktail which was delicious and refreshing. Our server Mike was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. Overall a great experience.

Our meatball appetizer was wonderful while my drink was just so-so. I was quite surprised that my dinner was very spicy. All of our dinners turned out to be way too spicy. They were not listed as spicy on the menu. I had to exchange my too spicy dinner back for one that did not have spice in it. I watched everyone else eat, then they watched my eat. Very uncomfortable situation. After we got home, my husband mentioned to me that my not do great drink cost $17. I was shocked. Not sure if I will ever go back, but I would never order a rink there.
