Food was delicious with fresh ingredients; ambiance was relaxed and leisurely; staff and management were super accommodating. This will become a go-to restaurant... without a doubt!
Limited menu for lunch but good food. Service was excellent.
Unfortunately the food, was terrible - overcooked and without flavour. It was our anniversary and they basically put us in the corner of a parking lot at first. Totally disappointing.
The evening was a little cool so it was nice and comfy feeling like we were eating on a patio, but sheltered from the wind.
Everyone enjoyed their meals very much.
The value for my Macaroni salad was not there.....so not rate this as a seafood salad.
The noise was really loud......although I like your restaurant, the noise would keep me away.
The food at Cove was great. The service was fine. The patio was cold and dark at 6:30 in the evening. We enjoyed the local draft beer and the pitcher of sangria.
Very good lobster rolls and lavish, delicious desserts: reasonable wine choices. Excellent service and a nice quiet atmosphere in a somewhat utilitarian but perfectly comfortable back patio.
The Oysters are why I go to Cove bar! They are fresh and outstanding! Also tried the poke bowl which was great, but would have liked to see more veggies and tuna in it. Service was attentive and sat us in a great spot.
Food service is very slow
The portions are small, and they set us a table in a tent, instead of on their patio
We love the place, the service, and the cocktails. Wine was to die for. We had many items from the menu: Calamari, kale ceasar, loaded fries, and fried mushrooms were great; greenzpacho needed seasoning, catfish was meh, oysters are well...they’re oysters🤣🤣seafood linguini was edible, but the seafood platter was terrible!!! Muscles and bacon wrapped shrimp were almost plastic, scallops were scarce, some kind of shellfish was just the shell, even the cornbread didn’t do the platter justice. One friend had a piece of lobster and that was it. Too tiny to share. Kids had lobster mac and cheese, that was a ok. Octopus was fine the first time, we ordered two more and somehow they were horrible. How is that possible??? Overall the decision is to go there for drinks and fried food.
Terrific patio with roof that opens
Our new favorite date night restaurant
Took 20 min to get a glass of water - it was not that busy. Food was over priced, portions were small, food lacked flavour. Service was horrible - waiter was inattentive and not welcoming.
-ordered a tuna poke bowl. Rice was raw. Uncooked. Very hard
-booked a table to be outside on a patio, there were empty tables on the front and back patio. We were placed in a tent at the back of the tent. No view.
terrible service lt was almost as if we were forgotten. We waited about half an hour for our bill and reminded the server multiple times about the bill
The placement of the table in the tent, horrible I personally got water sprayed on me from the next restaurant cleaning their patio table. Horrible set up in the tent
Would not recommend food or restaurant to anyone
Service was good. However, food was way too little. Only 7 pieces for calamari and the lobster mac and cheese was an appetizer size, not a meal. Same with the lobster roll, very little. Was left hungry and paid almost $100. Portions need to change for me to go back.
For a seafood restaurant, the octopus and lobster were overcooked and tough. Very disappointing!
Server was not wearing her mask properly. There was one instance where she did not have her mask on at all while she delivered a beverage. We had to inform her to put her mask on. She kept touching her mask and face as well. My friend went to the bar and the bartenders did not have their mask on as well. My friend had to remind them to put them on...Food was mediocre. We ordered the oysters and burrata for apps, which my friends said was good. Mains were the lobster roll (mediocre) and salmon burger (friend said it was good). We were seated by the parking lot and it was extremely windy. Our salad and napkins flew away. We had to ask the server to close one side of the tent. Overall just ok experience. We had high expectations of the place and it didnt really meet them. We would not return again. The biggest takeaway is for the staff to practice proper infection control practices by wearing masks and practicing hand hygiene. Half of us are licensed health care practitioners and we were just cringing at their non existent IPAC practices.
Loved it - view of Bronte Harbour, great calamari. Good quality. Half-price wine bottles on certain days!! Excellent service from Rebecca. Good casual atmosphere. Open air (glass walls on opposite ends were slid open for Covid safety) — feels fresh clean & white. Breeze blowing through. Cute outdoor patio at the back (no harbour view) & extended covered outdoor patio on Marine Drive - some tables have a harbour view.
Areas for improvement: need larger portions please. They charge a lot for small portions. Outdoor seating got a bit uncomfortable after an hour. Maybe need thicker cushions? Would be appreciated but then we’d never leave! Lol!
We’ll be back for sure!
Great food at an affordable price. The location was the best part of the experience. Truly enjoyed the view of the harbor.
Great location and the patio atmosphere is fantastic. However the food was very poorly prepared. It was overcooked and came to us so quickly that my wife and I remarked that it seemed like there is no way it was freshly prepared Our waiter was useless. After delivering the food he never came back to ask if everything was acceptable. At the end when we were paying our bill my wife remarked about how poor the food was and how her sandwich was missing items, he just shrugged and said “huh”. He couldn’t have cared less. He never offered to do anything about it.
Overall I would recommend the patio for drinks or cocktails before dinner or after but I would also recommend eating somewhere else
Unfortunately I had a major stomach upset when I went home and its still lingering. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and assume their was something wrong with that.my brother also had an upset stomach, he had cat fish. Otherwise it is a good place, with good service.
There were a lot of bees and wasps on the outside patio. Need to install some type of deterrent for these!
Some food arrived late and was sent back as we were finished lunch already.
Otherwise good food and nice seating area outside and staff were good.
Great atmosphere on a sunny Sunday.
First time here. Great location but unfortunately, that’s the only positive (plus the drinks). The food was decently priced but the portions were not great nor was the flavour. The hominy grits were horribly lumpy and not a nice flavour and they were accompanied by two small shrimp and two scallops! Not a great value for the price! The burrata appetizer was not very fresh, way too firm and not creamy at all. One of us was brought the wrong entree and didn’t get the right one until the rest of the group was almost finished eating....and no one offered to take it off the bill or offered us a free coffee or anything! Will not be returning based on the food.
We had the loaded fries, the lobster mac & cheese, seafood linguine, the calabrese scallops and shrimps. The beer on tap was luke warm. The lobster mac & cheese was too salty, not cheesy enough and lacked taste overall. The seafood linguine was also too salty and lacked any sauce so was very dry. The seafood in both meals was overcooked. The calabrese scallops and shrimps was 2 pieces of scallops and shrimps served on a bed of something that looked like pink porridge of some sort. It looked awful and tasted just as bad as it looked.
One of my favourite places in Bronte, best patio.
WE showed up 15 minutes early and were seated right away in the outdoor tent area (set up for Covid compliance).
Service was prompt and professional.
Food was delicious and timely.
A great experience overall and highly recommended.
Service was good however both my husbands and my meals were very overcooked. He had the fish and chips and I had the chicken sandwich. We were with others so didn’t want to send our food back but did tell our server to mention it to the chef. The restaurant is in such a great location we wish the food was better
We were 2 couples there for dinner at 7pm. We enjoyed the atmosphere, music, appetizers and drinks. We had a jug of white sangria- it was really good!! Also 2 berry mojitos that we’re tasty but really bitter. Could have been sweeter or mintier.
To start: We had clam chowder, the ‘greenspacho’, shrimp cocktail and burrata. Apps were great! Shrimp could have been peeled and presented nicer than just laid out on a bed of ice on a small round dish. Clam chowder was delicious. ‘Greenspacho’ soup was very flavourful and beautiful with edible flowers and slivered almonds. Burrata was so good and put together a little different w peaches, almonds and mint. They offered the traditional way as an option which we appreciated. But we really enjoyed this unique way.
For Mains: we had the salmon on a bed of rice w cucumber salsa. Pretty standard but not unpleasant. Another person had the blackened catfish. It was just burnt. The blackened part was not properly done and was dry and tasteless. The next person ordered the lobster roll. Standard bun and chewy lobster w no flavouring. The last person ordered the hasselback zuchini and they were out of it. Out of zuchini on a Saturday night at 7:30. So the steak was ordered instead. Very dry with very little flavour. And the spicy potatoes were so spicy they couldn’t even be eaten.
So I would recommend this restaurant for apps and drinks and atmosphere. Not at all for dinner. It was like 2 different people were making the apps and mains.
Service was pretty good.
This is my 3rd time at this restaurant but the last 2 times it was Yolanda’s and it was amazing then!
This was our anniversary dinner. My husband travels for work and isn’t home very often so we wanted to make it special. We were given a lovely table near the water and our server made our night very special. My husband asked for a special cocktail (bartender’s choice) and he was treated to a terrific original concoction that he loved. We enjoyed a very special evening!
Amazing time at the cove- my first time and I went for my birthday! Everyone was so kind and beyond attentive! Amazing overall first time, and the food.. absolute perfection!!
It was great- no complaints - would highly recommend
We had a "lobster roll". There was plenty of lobster but no mayo, celery etc. Just lobster.
Lucy the waitress was beyond excellent! She moved my car to a safer place as I was parked in wrong zone. Smiley, friendly etc.
We would definitely go back but I hope someone tells chef how to make a lobster roll!
Perfect setting and food
excellent as always...Hope it becomes a secret and tourists don't find it
The food was not amazing. The drinks and atmosphere were good. Only recommended for drinks.
It felt like I was away on vacation with the great ambiance and view. The food was delicious.
Small portions but overall it’s was a good night!
On the patio. Ordered- clam chowder, lobster roll, fish and chips. The best thing we’re the fries. The lobster roll was on a stale toasted hot dog bun... they could have done so much better, toast it properly, put a little garlic butter on that bun and serve the lobster either cold or hot, not room temp that tasted like it was sitting out for 4 hours. Fish was nothing to rave about, it looked amazing when it came out but it tasted like old fish and gave a strange after taste. Don’t know if they pre fried the fish and left it out for an hour and then fried it up again when their was an order but that’s what it felt like. Generous portion of fries with the fish and they were hot and tasty. clam chowder overpriced for what you get.. also tasted like salt water and left a strange after taste. I love seafood and eat it often so this was not your typical “fishy” taste you usually get with seafood. Overall just a meh experience. They could do sooo much better for the prices they’re paying.
