    The restaurant is CLOSED. We drove almost 2 hours to get there for them to tell us they are under reconstruction, despite our online reservation.

    I’m not a fish eater but this place has a few dishes in their menu that i absolutely love! I love the basil Smash cocktail also! This time I had the kale salad with chicken. Awesome. Table service was great. The ambience is beautiful on a summer/early fall day.

    Sadly, if it wasn't for the great company, I would probably have raise the following issue to the server. 1) Two of us ordered the Poke Bowl. VERY disappointed. This is in no way worth $22. Freshii makes a FAR superior product for half the price. Heck, I make them at home and I would put mine up against what we were served any day. The breakdown: Once you dig down into the 3/4 bowl of rice, there is MAYBE 2 tablespoons of actual tuna that is almost to the point of being minced and has little to no flavour. To the left was MAYBE 4 pieces of leafy greens, about an Oz of seaweed salad, 3 crumbled pieces of wonton and absolutely COVERED in a thick dressing. Not even remotely close to the quality expected for the price. 2) We rushed through our dinner by multiple servers. I actually became somewhat stressful! Won't go back.

    Food and ambiance was great. Service was ok, took order brought food and then came at end. We needed some additional drinks and salt but no one came by until we had finished our dinner.

    We went for dinner with friends to Cove on a recent Saturday night. While we were there, a fluke rainstorm hit. We were seated against the wall and had just been served our drinks and appetizers when the storm started. All 4 of us were absolutely soaked when the roof flooded and started to pour directly down onto our table. After we ran into the back for cover, we were advised there's an indoor dining room and decided to stay to try and make the most of our dinner - despite all 4 of us being soaked right through our clothing. Our server came over to advise that the kitchen had our main entrees ready and would we be okay getting those now - although we hadn't even had our appetizers or drinks replaced yet. We were very flexible and advised that was perfectly fine. So out came our mains, then our drinks followed and then our appetizers arrived at the end of our meal. We were quite surprised and disappointed that at bill payment time - there was absolutely no mention of what had happened. It would have been a small gesture of goodwill to comp our drinks at the very least - if not something more. After all, we had stayed and paid in full - even though we were completely drenched in their establishment - and then had our entrees before our drinks and appetizers. It was a very disappointing dinner and we won't be returning.

    The view of the waterfront and sail boats was wonderful. The food and drinks were over priced for ordinary quality, small portions and mediocre taste. Waiters should wear something more professional; shorts showing butt cheeks is not very professional for the clientele that was in the restaurant.

    This has become our go to place for friends. It feels like a beach bar with the open air feel. And if it rains, they quickly put the cover over the open roof. Perfect. Because it is outdoors, it feels casual and fun. The menu is wide ranging and the service is always spot on.

    The basil smash was great. Service was a bit slow even though it wasn't very busy. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the slaw and it was mediocre at best. Chicken was over fried and dried out. The mussels and the salmon have the exact same sauce on it as we ordered both and the shrimp cocktail had very small shrimp with the shells on still. Ambience and vibe was good. Would definitely recommend for an afternoon spot to have some beverages, but I'm not going particularly for the food.

    I have been to the Cove often over the course of this summer. The patio is perfect as you are sheltered from the sun and still have the outdoor experience with a view of the water. The food is very good and the service has been phenomenal. Give it a try. Susan Jong

    Nice spot for a patio and has a retractable roof for the rain. Good spot for drinks but would order food elsewhere. Wings and Chicken Sando was over cooked and had a dark crusty coating. This usually means the oil for frying hasn’t been changed in a while. Poke bowl had the same hard crusty chicken pieces, plain rice and some old slaw mixed in, no sauce. This place has potential but they need to focus on the kitchen and food. Would not go back to eat.

    We sat indoors and that was a mistake. It was very hot and stuffy in the back room and we were the only people sitting there. Outside would have been a better choice. The staff were not around very much as they were looking after the people outside. The calamari for our appi was good. A couple of us just had a burger and it was not good. A couple others had the shrimp roll and they did like it. Overall, not a great experience.

    Food was ok. Service was fine. Bathrooms needed serious cleaning as well as the area into the bathrooms. Bathroom door was really dirty. It was fine overall. Close to the Marina so that was a great view and good walk after dinner.

    The menu changed since the last time we went to Cove. We ordered the Caprese salad with shrimp and the shrimp wasn’t fully cooked. We were looking forward to have the oysters but that is no longer on the menu. We noticed that there were wash rags being hung to dry on top of the bar and the outdoor patio had a couple dying plants… so we felt that this restaurant didn’t provide the same premium experience that we had in past visits. We can tell that this restaurant has new management or owners because the previous owner wouldn’t let this happen.

    We were a party of 8. The red wine that was ordered was actually warm so not good. The fish from the fish and chips was overcooked, the coating being tough and chewy. It tasted like it had been reheated in microwave or refried in oil. Steak from steak and frites was chewy and tasteless. Having been to The Cove a number of times, we’ve always enjoyed our meals but this was embarrassing as we were the hosts to the other 6 people. The staff I have to say was exceptional and obviously embarrassed and did all they could to smooth things out.

    Four of us ordered fish and chips . The fish and the batter were either over-cooked or re-cooked. Red wine was too warm and one of the steaks was tough. The salad and soup were fine. The staff did their best to mitigate and gave us discounts. We frequently came to Cove and this was the only time we’re were disappointed with the food. Hope to have better quality of food next time.

    Server was excellent. Kitchen was not - did not make our meals per allergy specifications. Had to return a dish to be remade even though the server entered the info properly. Salad did not have all the ingredients as listed on the menu. Menu very rigid - would not offer any accommodations for vegetarian meals. Menu also not very expansive- not much to choose from if you are vegetarian or have a fish/shellfish allergy. If you offer limited choices , your kitchen should accommodate allergies or food preferences.

    I was looking for a nice nearby restaurant to take someone to who has been very helpful to myself and refuses to accept a gift or money. It was ‘after open hours’ so I checked online and found Cove restaurant in Bronte. I could see their menu, their prices and hours of business as well as times when they were not too busy. The waitress was both helpful and kind. Did not rush us. There were options as to dining indoors or out and since they could move their windows, indoors felt like outdoors. The food was good, not excellent (beans and potatoes were over cooked) but the salmon was excellent. I would definitely dine there again!

    A very trendy restaurant on the Bronte marina. Eclectic outdoor tables and stylist indoor setting. Staff was attentive and friendly. Helpful. We ordered chowder (excellent taste but could have had a bit more body) and mussels which were numerous, hot and tasty. We went during quiet period so the ambiance was a bit sterile. But it was a ho-to place for us and we weren’t disappointed.
