Fabulous location, host, service, food and value! Could not have been better. Ontario visiting Montreal!
Usual amazing food and service. Never fails to impress. Always enjoyable.
Great food and service! The crepes are so good!
nice place, bigger than it looks from the outside. would recommend.
Great for a casual place in old town that is consistently good.
Great fondue place!
This is always a great place to eat! It is, however, often busy! (Yet, using open table will guarantee you a seat!) the food is amazing and the service is friendly! Just note it’s a fast paced place, not a lounge & linger spot.
Our table was in the middle of the top floor was so loud and our waitress was so unhappy
Excellent tasting crepes. Just not enough room for more
The food was excellent and our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Well worth the visit!
On nous à réserver une belle table pour nous merci ça été grandement apprécié ;)
Great place! Very attentive staff and fun staff.
The fondue is great and the French onion soup was the best part of the meal. The escargot was not good at all. If you want a really great drink then order the white wine sangria, it’s really Sone well!!!!
Eaten here many times over the years. I have always been pleased with the food, staff, experience!
Wet loved it. Perfect for our 13 month old to join us for dinner! (She also loved it!)
We had our 14 year old grandson from Massachussets who had his heart set on escargot. They did not disappoint. Crepes and fondu were traditional and delicious. Staff was attentive and responsive. Its on our list whenever we go to Montreal.
Chez Suzette was great! Lively, energetic, great food and drinks, and accompanied by great service. My only comment is the food took a while to come out, which is expected and reasonable considering how busy they were at the time. Would 10/10 recommend!
Came on a Saturday morning just before noon, very busy place, reservation was helpful. French Onion Soup was really good. Québécois crepe was good (maple syrup was an interesting addition on the side to the savoury crepe) and Laurentienne crepe was really good. Service was great, server was very nice and friendly, a bit of mix up with change for cash, but seems like it was just an honest mistake. Nice place for breakfast or dessert.
We had the Fondue for 2 it was excellent! Included a cheese, chicken & beef fondue and ended with crepes suzette! Romantic environment in the old port
Was looking for the authentic fondue experience, and I found it! I’ll be back for chocolate fondue soon.
Exceptional, very accommodating!!!!!
Oh my dish the crepes were Delicious!!! Definitely stop and eat here!
We dined here on the CAD$80 for 2 people fondue special. It was your standard fare of a 3-course fondue meal. We started with the Swiss cheese fondue with white wine and kirsh, then had the chicken and beef for the main course, followed by the chocolate fondue for dessert.
The one complaint I would have is that this was an exceptionally long meal. Although I was fully prepared for it to be a long meal, I don't think our table was waited on as thoroughly as I would've liked. Nevertheless, the food was very good and the ambiance was quite charming.
Food was adequate...so many better meals in Montreal. The crepe was served lukewarm with the bechamel congealed and the cheese hardened...very little flavor. My daughter enjoyed her dessert crepes.
Server was rude and made the whole experience unpleasant.
Server was rude, but food was pretty good. Crepes are bland and fondue is super great!
The dessert crepes were better than the savory ones.
We waited 50mins for our food to come, we followed up with our server after 25mins and she said is coming, we followed up another 10mins after, she told us some mistake from the kitchen. Other tables seated down later than us have already ate, paid and left and we are still waiting. We were about to walk out. Server said she will ask the manager to do something for us because of the long wait but at the end there was nothing. If you are in Old Montreal, there are more restaurans choices and I will not recommend this restaurant with the price they are charging and low quality of service.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The cheese fondue was amazing and the crepes were great. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were very affordable, as they offered them near cost.
Crepes were large and tasty. Cute atmosphere, though a bit cramped. No restroom on first level, a real problem for people with mobility limitations. Server was competent but a bit distracted.
Fondue had a weird texture & wine taste was over bearing. Service was extremely slow. Took 15 min for the waiter to come greet us and bring us water. Drinks were mediocre.
Quaint, cute little place. two floors, we had a little table by the windows. Make a reservation during peak times and weekends. Food was hot and very tasty. Enjoy some local craft beer. The french onion soup was delicious. Would like to go back for the fondue.
The food and ambiance were good. We had the fondue for two and included cheese fondue, meat fondue and chocolate fondue. The portions were quite large, except for the chocolate, which we were scraping from the bowl (it was also just that good). The sauces for the meat fondue were ok; we've had better. The broth for the meat fondue was amazing! Bold and flavorful. All of the ingredients (veggies, meat, bread, fruit) were top quality. The service left a lot to be desired. We were rarely checked on between courses for refills of water etc. We eventually got up and refilled our own glasses from the server station. We waited around for about 15 minutes after finishing the meat before our server came to check on us and clear our plates for the next course. Overall it's good food at a great price ($79 CAD for two- three course fondue meals) but be prepared for inattentive service.
Service was slow
Great lobster bisque and seafood crepe! Limited but exceptional value wine list. We would definitely go again!
We had a great lunch here this week. The crepe menu is large with lots of sweet and savory choices. Both of our crepe lunches were very tasty. I enjoyed the whole lunch but would have preferred the top floor as there seems to be more room between tables. We were upstairs and seated at a smaller table that was quite tight. It was fine but I think I would have preferred a bit more space around me for the cost of the lunch. This is not an inexpensive place but the table atmosphere could have been a bit more upscale for the price. The food is amazing. I certainly would visit again when in the area. I also loved my cappuccino.
Very slow service. The sauces for the fondue where all mayo based except one - mayo with ketchup , mayo with dill etc. Amount of food was good but not real taste - the broth did not have any spices.
We enjoyed the savory crêpes, and even moreso the sweet ones. The crêpe suzette was delicious and we look forward to trying the fondues on our next visit.
Excellent food and service! Would definitely return!
Delicious food on all fronts! We had 4 guests, all ordering different items, and all were very tasty. Fresh ingredients, both seafood and chicken dishes had moist meat inside, bechamel sauces weren’t overly rich. Staff was very friendly. It was a full restaurant so service was a little slow but not painfully so by any means. Perhaps also just a more European attitude towards meals - meant to take your time, not rush from one course to the next!
Wonderful evening. The crepes were all so tender. Seafood, apple and brie and of course suzette. We'll be back!
Food was really great. Servers were very friendly and happy. Went 2 days in a row. So many options of savoury or sweet dessert crepes.
Many other options too. Would definitely go back on my next trip to old Montreal.
