   Menu choices were excellent and I liked the option to have starters as mains which extended the choice even further. Would have liked the Menu to have been offered at the bar so that you could have a drink and study the menu making your choice before entering the restaurant. Service was discrete and friendly without being intrusive which is difficult to achieve. The dining venue is light and modern, set in a large conservatory on the side of the house with spectacular views of the Wiltshire Countryside. Prices are in line with what you would expect to pay in such a setting, on average for three course I would say around £40- £45 per head including drinks.

   I booked afternoon tea for my Mums 70th birthday. Whilst overall it was a good experience it wasn’t amazing. The scones were very dry. The staff gave us very limited attention and additional drinks were not offered. There was a wedding on & I felt the attention was given more to that rather than customers in the restaurant.

   Went yesterday with friends for a Sunday Lunch. Have visited several times - our daughter had her Wedding reception there in 2009! The Hotel is set in beautiful grounds with outstanding views across to the Marlborough Downs in the far distance. The Staff are friendly & attentive, the only disappointment was that there was no 'Sunday Roast' yesterday, even though it was advertised on the menu online.

   I met up with my friend for afternoon tea here as I knew it was good as I’d had it before for my hen party …but I was a little disappointed with the quality of some of the cakes and scones this time round …the scones were extremely dry and hard as was one of the small cakes …for the price of £25 each I do expect a bit more freshness and quality

   Having received a call from Charlotte at 1245 hrs asking what we were expecting -lunch or Tea we duly arrived to a very noisy bar and waited to be seated Eventually the bar man acknowledged our presence and stated he was working alone refusing us a table in the window as they were set up for tea [1330 hrs] the restaurant the room was empty We asked for a wine list to be told it was incorporated in the menu This was their all day menu, the Christmas menu was no where in sight and we could have sight of it on request The reservation was for my husband`s birthday [79] We vacated the premises

    The setting was delightful, with sweeping views over the countryside. The ambience was very relaxed and chilled as we sat chatting in comfy sofas sipping G &T’s and discussing the menu. The service and staff were excellent and the homemade steak pies were delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.

    The venue is decorated lovely. I was given a voucher as a gift to eat here and was disappointed in lack of choice in menu- 4 main options- and I thought £19 for a burger and chips was too expensive although it tasted lovely. So too expensive for for food and not enough choice. Staff were wonderful and attentive.

    This hotel needs a makeover. Six of us stayed and two of the rooms were old, damp, dirty and musty. The windows were smeared and the beds uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend.

    I’d always highly recommend this place as it’s ambiance and service is great. We sat out on the beautiful terrace in the sun and had a delicious cream tea while enjoying the elevated view of the vast green rolling fields leading to Purton and beyond. This hotel is quintessentially English with lovely modern aspects mixed in. Beautiful.

    We booked afternoon tea and whilst the food was OK, we've had better. The service was very poor, whilst there was a wedding the same day, we were served our food and one pot of tea and then really had to search for someone to ask for more tea and clean cups, which then came out dirty. Overall quite disappointing.

    Staff were very friendly, and the starters were nice. However the mains were very disappointing, the food came out scorching hot as it was sat under a heat lamp probably a bit too long, by the time we could eat the food it was very dry and bland. We then ordered a birthday cake which again was also very dry.

    Arrived on time but we're told no booking. Compromised with high tea rather than the afternoon tea. Not many sandwiches, couple of scones. Probably wouldn't visit again tbh, as none of us (3) thought it was value for money compared with other similar bookings we have made elsewhere. Sorry.

    We enjoyed a delightful family lunch with our elderly mother who is in a wheelchair and our special requests for her were attended to with great consideration. The access to the dining area and disabled facilities were exactly as we needed. The food was excellent, as was the service and the views from the Conservatory area are wonderful especially on a beautifully sunny day as we were lucky enough to have. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon in lovely surroundings and we look forward to returning.

    The website promises much, however the actual hotel leaves much to be desired. The facilities are ok, the spa needs a jacuzzi. The rooms need redecorating, it’s all quite 1980s.

    The manager over charged us and was very rude and abrupt when we queried it. Before that, he slammed the water on the table and was not very welcoming but the other waiter was absolutely lovely and kind!

    We enjoyed had afternoon tea booked for our mums on Saturday 2.30pm. We arrived a little early however we were promptly sat our arranged table. We were asked quickly what drinks we would like out of tea and coffee. These then arrived. We then however waited another 30-40 minutes for our afternoon tea. I asked a member of staff where it was and she then returned to say that the kitchen was preparing it and it would be another 10 mins. This is now after 3pm. Also there were at least 3 tables that were seated after us however were served their food before us. During our afternoon tea (which by the way was lovely) we had to prompt a waiter for more tea, as we were now left with cold teapots. It is only until my husband paid that we were obviously charged for the extra round of drinks - surely this is included and not additional? I can't imagine we are to enjoy one pot of tea for the entire meal? I have been to your establishment previously and then we were not charged for additional drinks, I think that occasion we had 5 pots between 2 of us.... The food was delicious as I said but we were very disappointed that we were served late & charged more. Seems like we were forgotten about! Also emailed the above the evening of the booking not to hear anything. I think that's pretty poor to not get any email back nearly after a week from visit.

    Both the restaurant and the food were great, my only slight disappointment was the service. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the staff seemed inexperienced and especially at breakfast not really professional. At breakfast the girl showed us to our table and stood with her hands in her hips while telling us about breakfast and one of the other waitresses seemed like working was a chore and responded ‘Yep’ when asked if we could have some coffee… before heading off without any of the usual ‘what sort of coffee etc’ that you would expect in a hotel restaurant. The restaurant was lovely, clean and well laid out the staff could do with a little more training and mentoring and it would have been five stars.

    A really lovely overnight spa break- best massage I have ever had! Super food and comfy, clean room although the carpet is in need of updating - it was very worn and stained. All of the staff really lovely and helpful Will definitely come back!

    Food was gorgeous and well worth the money, however I was disappointed to be charged £12 for a glass of mediocre wine (house rosa) and £10 for just two single shots of sailor Jerry’s. I was also annoyed at the presumptuous tip that was applied to my bill. Without asking, I usually always leave a tip myself but to be forced into it, is not a nice feeling.

    I booked lunch here so my friends & I could cycle to the restaurant safely from Blunsdon and enjoy a catch up after the lockdowns of the last 18 months. We were very happy with The Cricklade House Hotel, the food was great, the ambiance was lovely and we were able to talk together very comfortably . The views are wonderful over the Wiltshire countryside.

    We went for the afternoon tea with Prosecco hour. The hotel was very busy with a wedding and birthday party but the staff were still attentive and friendly. The afternoon tea was standard but good and the unlimited Prosecco was generous. Would return.

    Lovely afternoon tea. Disappointed that staff member thought scraping the head off a pint with a dirty pen was acceptable but duty manager sorted it out and new pint provided.
