   This was our third visit to Crowsfoot and we were excited to see the “new menu”. It was a bit of a surprise to be greeted by a host who was chewing on what I would assume was gum, as if he were major league ball player. No smile. Kinda gross, but whatever. The “new menu” was what we were really here for. Unfortunately, the “new menu” was really just the same old menu with a stripping down of most the things that made Crowsfoot Smokehaus unique. That is to say, the stuff that kept us coming back are now all gone from the menu, which was disappointing. The food that we did have was delicious, but it was missing the unique sauces and meats that set it apart from literally every other chain restaurant that currently exists. The bathroom was out of soap, one of the men’s stalls wouldn’t shut. Overall, it wasn’t the best, and it certainly wasn’t what we’d come to expect from this particular restaurant. It was fun while it lasted. Probably won’t come back again.

   Nice restaurant, and the food was great. The service was slow despite the restaurant only being half full. Took 20 minutes to receive 2 beers and about an hour for our food.

   Had some mixed experiences earlier this year (slow service, food served cold on a couple of occasions) but I understand there is a new manager and this time the staff had their act entirely together. They were most courteous and flexible in accommodating last-minute scope creep in the size of our party and the needs of a couple of guests who needed to leave early. Servers were incredibly efficient: everyone's plates arrived within a span of a couple of minutes and the food was fresh and warm. My serving of brisket was generous, intensely flavorful and melted in my mouth. Other guests raved about the schnitzel as did my wife about her trout entree. Crowsfoot is an interesting example of South Texas Cuisine (a combination of German and Southern Barbecue often found in the environs of San Antonio where many German immigrants settled mid-19th century); one thing potential patrons should be aware of is the need to bring a healthy appetite because the servings are indeed "Texas-sized."

   one person's order at our table go forgotten and by the time they got their food , the ret of ours was cold. It was either that or eat without them. We got a personal apology but discounting a portion of their bill would have been nice. Other than that the service and food was good!

    Disappointing food. Sweet potato fries were mushy. The pulled pork was tasty, if skimpy on the meat, but the bun was nothing special. The sauerkraut on the Rueben didn’t have the sauerkraut taste - it was very bland and seemed just like cabbage. The whole Rueben was bland and needed a nice mustard. The first time we ate at Crowsfoot, it was great and I recommended it to my friends, who went and were not impressed. We’ve gone a couple more times and it seems to be going downhill, food wise. The service was good, though.

    Love the atmosphere and the craft beers/ciders on tap! The food is always delicious and more then we could eat, though we wanted to :) Only downside was service was a little slow, our waters weren't topped up and the drinks weren't refilled. But the overall staff was very pleasant and easy to chat with Will definitely be going back!

    Last night my family and I went out for a Mother’s Day celebration and we had made a reservation. We ended up waiting 1.5 hrs for our food to come, that ended up being pretty average. Despite the below average service and lack of communication until we were brought our food, our waitress Emily was very kind and apologetic, even though it wasn’t her fault.

    This is a review of the Mother’s Day buffet brunch. I was expecting more smoked meats I guess. The food was not very good, especially for the price. We have been before and the menu food was outstanding that’s why it was very disappointing. We will be back for menu items, just not a buffet again. The service is always wonderful

    Went for the Mother’s Day Brunch with my family. I had ordered the large bouquet when I made the reservation which they forgot to place on the table and I had to mention it at the end when we got our bills (which they didn’t charge me for). The brunch was okay. When we went, there seemed to be limited options. They only had meats when we first arrived and were completely out of all meats for the remaining of our reservation until we were leaving they had just refilled. We thought there would be more selection. Omelet station, scrambled eggs, tater tots, meats, bread and dessert. The veggie and fruits were hardly stocked, we could only get the remaining (which didn’t look the greatest). I’m sure there normal service is better, but it was disappointing bringing my mom here as she was so excited and then to see the “brunch” we had left her a bit disappointed. Hopefully next year they can improve service, good variety, and ensure they have enough food to keep the stations loaded.

    Went for Mother’s Day brunch and this experience has turned us away from this establishment for good. As we were up getting food from the buffet another table was being sat at our seats where our personal belongings were. The server asked if it was our table and we said yes and she walked away without saying anything. The food was not very good. Things were undercooked and cold and had no flavour. The brisket immediately made a family member sick and gave them a migraine and extreme stomach pain. After we were first sat we were told a server would be right over to take our drink orders. It took until we were getting second plates for someone to finally come and take them. Overall this was not a good experience especially for Mother’s Day and after this experience we will not be back.

    This restaurant is great if ordering lunch or dinner from the menu, but the brunch is absolutely terrible. The selection of food options is poor and the food is not kept warm enough to be enjoyable for the $29.99 pp price tag, made even worse at $38 pp for special occasions. I would not recommend this place for brunch, unless they improve their variety and quality of food choices.

    Very busy weekend, so slightly understandable. However lots of “excuses” used for the delay. 20 minutes to even get drinks. Over an hour wait for food. Server got drink order wrong twice. Food order was also wrong, but after a 60 minute wait, we didn’t complain as we were hungry. Want to definitely give them another try, but was disappointed for first experience.

    This visit was my second time there. The food is incredible and well worth every single penny. However, the experience we received was quite disappointing. We waited almost 90 minutes for our food, after our waiter and said our orders were just about ready, then came back and said the food he saw was not ours. The manager was kind enough to give us a discount on the bill, but the wait left a sour taste in the mouth. I am willing to try Crowsfoot again (because the food is that good), but I’m not holding my breath.

    Great dinner experience at Crowsfoot Smokehaus. We were seated in the wrong area at first and had to move tables, but the manager was very apologetic and we hadn’t even ordered drinks yet so was not a big issue. Food was great and I was impressed with the available options for non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails.

    The waitresses were very kind to let us know that it was their first day using a new system. That being said, we had 4 different waitresses, had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks and 55 minutes for our food and there were only 4 of us. It was our first time eating at this restaurant and our first experience wasn't great.

    1. The brisket was cut with the grain. Still tasty but could have been so much better if cut across the grain. 2. Smokey beans were way too Smokey.

    First visit, we came with another couple and it was their first visit as well. I had the schnitzel, portion was very large. While tasty, I found it to be quite greasy. The side of gravy was really tasty 😋 My husband is a rib guy. He ordered a full rack and was blown away by the portion size. He found them to be tough and grizzled and wasn’t a real fan of the sauce.     It took 15 minutes for the waiter to come to us and that was with prompting from another staff member. The food was just warm when brought to us. If it wasn’t for the time and our hunger we would have sent it away and left. Not interested in going back

    Had the Sunday brunch buffet at 12:15 a.m. Not much selection. Food was cold and dried out. They brought out fresh scrambled eggs and bacon after we had already had the old stuff. $27.00 per person is way too high for a mediocre breakfast/brunch.

    Everything was consistently good with the schnitzel meal - generous portions.The one change was the cabbage. It was separate which is ok but I prefer it to be sautéed. Also, I thought Thursdays special was schnitzel for $20. We were charged $22 as per the menu. Mark is a wonderful server. I also appreciate the overall cleanliness.

    We never actually tried the food. We were initially interested in CFSH after seeing a targeted ad on social media. We made our reservation after looking at the menu posted on their website. We were intrigued by some of the out-of-the-ordinary menu items, specifically the spaetzle sides. We figured it was worth the drive out of town for dishes that we don’t normally see. When we arrived, we were surprised and saddened to see that the current menu was drastically different from what was posted online. A number of the dishes we were initially interested in were no longer on the menu, and the spaetzle was only available with the schnitzel dinner, whereas previously it was available as an alternative to fries throughout the menu. When we asked if it was available – even for an upcharge – we were told that no it’s only with the schnitzel dinner. (This seems illogical to me as it’s already present in the kitchen, but whatever). After that, there was nothing interesting or special enough on the new menu to stay (just typical BBQ items), so we left. Such a letdown. Change happens, but in this case you changed away what made you special. (Also the round chairs in the dining room are extremely uncomfortable. That likely contributed to our decision to leave instead of making the better of the situation.)

This is something we will need to discuss with our marketing team to ensure the correct information is being circulated. Since our schnitzel is so popular, we bring in enough spaetzle for that dish specifically, however, I'd be happy to bring it up to our chef if it can still be offered as an upcharge or side dish since it seems to be quite popular still on its own. We appreciate hearing these things so we can make the right changes and keep everyone coming back. Hopefully, we can get you back in and try again, maybe in a booth this time for added comfort!     Both orders of fries were soggy. Reuben was shown on the website as a thick sandwich, but came to the table as 3 thin slices of meat between the bread. Fried chicken was limp, not crispy and tasted like fish. Pickle chips, ribs and mac and cheese were tasty. However after tip the $300 dinner for 4 ( including 6 drinks) felt like we'd been ripped off for what we were served. Loved the ambiance and cocktails but it's too high priced for inconsistent lackluster food.
