Family birthday dinner for 6 of us. Food was excellent! Cocktails were very good. Our server was Courtney and she wonderful! Highly recommend Cunningham’s.
This has been one of my favorite restaurants. A quiet, reserved ambiance with menu offerings focused on lots of healthy, organic farm-to-table options. And I especially was grateful that they installed a purified water system so that not only was the drinking water filtered, but was used in the cooking process as well. But something happened since we were there last. Totally different menu. Mostly pork items including the hamburgers. Reminded me of bar food. I had to opt for the chicken parmesan which I usually never eat. It came out cold, soggy and tasteless. Oddly enough, my husband ordered the same and his was crispy, hot and flavorful according to him. Because of time constraints I couldn’t send mine back. I was so disappointed. Perhaps I will check back from time to time to see if the menu switches back. But, if not, I will not return.
extensive red wine list but lacking in whites,
treated us well, especially the service dog
Everything was delicious as always. Both the chef and manager checked on us during our meal. Outside before dinner the bartenders provided excellent service and even made a great custom mocktail for our pregnant guest.
Pizzas were excellent! As always the truffle fries were delicious and addictive.
The chef had some interesting pairings, and he made it work!!! We ate in the bar area and the staff was very attentive.
Our second visit to this restaurant was far better than our first over a year ago. New menu and great server made the evening enjoyable for the four of us - with very different food preferences.
Our server Jaqueline was awesome. Very attentive, and had some great suggestions and perfect banter with us. We camenin early to take advantage of bonus points on OT and the restaurant was pretty empty. By the time we left, it was over 50% full.
Only our 3rd time here, but after this meal, it will be on our regular rotation.
Free underground parking (pay attention to your level - the elevators are funky).
But the meal...we went light. I had pizza - with Pepperoni and Sausage. It was absolutely awesome. My wife had a salad with Salmon. That was also excellent. Already looking forward to returning.
Arrived and was seated promptly but our server had no knowledge of wine, food, or being quick. She brought the wine list tablet which didn’t work and when we told her that it wasn’t working her reply was “well what are you doing wrong” then she told us 10 times the manager would come go over the wine list with us. We asked about 2 wines specifically and he blew off our question and recommended the wine he wanted to and had them bring a sample which wasn’t anything like we had wanted. We finally just bit the bullet and let them bring us something else that was good
Food was great but the meatball appetizer was cold/didn’t seem fresh. The mozzarella in the middle wasn’t even melted. Everything else was delicious and we overall had a nice time but the service from the start left a bad taste in our mouth. I had guest visiting from out of town and wanted them to have a nice evening and it didn’t start out that way.
I’m a frequent customer of the downstairs bakery and for good reason; the staff and service is 5 stars in comparison and I’ve always had an ideal experience. Will continue to patronize the bakery and will maybe one day give the restaurant another chance
Our waiter was kind of slow and he charged us the wrong price for one of our entrees. $9 more than on menu. Yet it did not bother us too much because the food was absolutely delicious! One of the best meals I’ve had in Baltimore.
Reserved on Open Table. Had to remind restaurant of request for table by window and special occasions. Two entrees , one very good. Strip steak ordered tough and under cooked, should have sent back. Wine order incorrect. Comped one glass. Did receive no charge desert. Disappointed.
Unimpressive menu. Food was average. Fried Calamari was under cooked. Had been to this place about an year go. It was a much better place then
Was one of the most amazing dinners we have had. Amazing service and amazing food ! The pork chop special was out of this world. By far the best I have had.
We stopped at the bar after dinner and the drinks were all top notch. Just simply amazing!
While we've been to Cunninghams before and never had an issue, this experience left us wondering what happened. The food was cold and the service was poor. The table next to us had a similar experience. Disappointing.
Laura the manager, Chris in the bar, and Danny outside take great care of us. We go with our black Lab Piper and sit outside on the patio. Everyone has a great time! Great service. Food and ambience. Love it!
Excellent food with meat and vegetables coming from their own local farm. Brea made daily on premise.
Cunningham's was an interesting evening... let me begin by saying the bone-in ribeye was phenomenal. A slightly overpriced menu, given the inconsistent service quality (longish waiting periods between waitstaff visits) and oddly mismatched decor... one is not quite sure if this is meant to be an upscale bistro or a local 'hangout'. Cunningham is trying hard to be that 'go-to' foodie place for Towson residents, but the menu falls short of that special 'je ne sais quoi' by also catering to the possibly less sophisticated palate looking for an alternative to Applebee's... with large portions and a menu of "usual suspects"... Yes, the mashed fingerling potatoes fried in duck fat were delicious, but the raspberry-peach mousse was so underwhelming, our group left most of it untouched after the first disappointing bite. We enjoyed our meal, but probably won't be back anytime soon.
Food was great. The ambiance was “weird”, best described as a split personality. It felt like a finer dining restaurant, but then the service wasn’t on point. We sat at our table for probably ten minutes before we were even acknowledged. Server was not attentive. Manager did check on us, but was vanilla and came after the meal was complete. We came here because we had a gift card, I don’t believe we will go back.
Went as a group of 8 for an early dinner before a local 7:00 show.
Great food great service
My wife would go back just for the Heirloom Tomato Salad, which is in the same vein as a caprese salad, (tomato, basil, cheese), yet totally distinct. Likewise, the Bolognese is a twist on the more common recipe where the meats in the sauce are ground-up. Cunninghams chef utilizes chunks of various meats in the sauce.
The A/C was pretty frigid, but as another reviewer experienced, when our waitress was advised, the temperature in our area was adjusted to a very comfortable level. Our waitress by the way, Jacklyn, was extremely pleasant and attentive.
We went on a somewhat rainy Friday evening, and you cannot beat the free parking in the building. The noise level just from conversation throughout the restaurant was a little high. Dress was varied, some after-work suits and business casual, but nice jeans fits in as well.
This was an excellent choice to celebrate the one year anniversary of my husband's quadruple bypass surgery. Ronnie was our waiter and was very entertaining and gave excellent service. We enjoyed our time with family. I highly recommend this restaurant. The drinks are creative and the food is excellent.
Yesterday we celebrated my grandmothers 80th Birthday at Cunningham’s. After cocktails at the bar and a few surprise elements for her. Some of my grandmothers friends decided to join us for dinner. Even though our dinner reservation was only for a set amount of people after happy hour. The staff quickly made accommodations for us. The night turned out perfect for the matriarch of our family. From the bar staff, hostess, waiter and Maitre D’s, this is a night she will never forget. Oh and the food was superb! From farm to table! Compliments to the chef!
Crabcake was excellent. Highly recommended!
Beautiful decor which made the flannel shirt attire on the servers look odd. What were you going for here? Have the waitstaff dress up to the elegant surroundings.
I personally did not like having a vocal musician. Too distracting to have quiet conversation. I still find it a bit overpriced but my friend likes it and it was her birthday celebration. My spinach was stringy and I almost choked on it!
The room is too loud for an intimate dinner, which is what we wanted. They should put in booths or at least provide smaller tables so that one doesn't have to shout to hold a conversation. The food was pretty good, but the service was iffy: the server forgot our soup and we had to wait a long time after being seated to get our orders taken.
Good food and service while we were there on a Saturday night. The noise level did rise as the restaurant filled up but I have been in louder restaurants.
Tonight was a mixed bag. We went for a light dinner and ordered appetizers. The melon appetizer was a little disappointing since the melon had no flavor. However the vegetarian flatbread was outstanding as were the two types of bread brought to the table. Two nice beers on tap and refreshing house-made ice cream and sorbet rounded out the meal. Though we were not ordering all courses, the wait staff gave us just as much attention as other diners doing multiple courses. The main drawback is that the outdoor seating faces either York Road with its telephone poles and several boring apartment buildings. A few trees along the border softens that a bit, but the terrace sits above those so they so not block the uglier part of the view. The low tables facing the side street are quieter too since York has lots of traffic.
This was our first experience at Cunningham's. It will not be our last. The ambiance is terrific. The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our server, Brianna was outstanding. My wife very much enjoyed her crab cake which was served on a bed of corn pudding. I was thrilled to see shrimp and grits on the menu. I was not disappointed. Creamy grits and large shrimp. Wonderful.
You can order a la carte or, surprisingly to us, from a prix fixed menu. We both chose the prix fixed menu which included an appetizer, main course and dessert. There were sufficient options for each, the servings plentiful and the taste superb. My wife wants me to make sure that I mention the creme brulee she had for dessert. Amazingly creamy and wonderful.
We went to Cunningham's to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were honored with a "Happy Anniversary" cupcake that we took home with us. It was a nice touch for our special occasion.
We hope you enjoy your dinner at Cunningham's as much as we did. By the way, did I mention there is free indoor parking, too?
Great food and value
Celebrated my wifes birthday here. Food was excelent and so was the service. This was my 2nd time here and i highly recommend it.
Rock-concert noise level. Poor choice in oysters.
Delicious as always. ❤️❤️❤️
Online menu and actual menu had different descriptions. Online showed happy hour from 5-7 but once seated in the restaurant, we were informed that was for the bar only. Parking was full on marked lot and poorly marked in the underground parking. Sent in as "birthday" occasion but no mention was made of that!
I'm from out-of-state (Nashville) and visiting Baltimore during Restaurant Week. What a delight Cunninghams was !! The service and server was comfortably attentive, selection of adult beverages fun and inventive, and even with a limited menu for the Week, the variety for both seafood lovers, carnivores, and vegetarians alike was quite decent. I had the Country Pate app, the smoked beef entre`, and a decadent raspberry mousse for dessert. All were extremely tasty, coupled with creative sides and flavors. I would definitely return, even without the pricing special! Thanks for a delightful meal and evening. lc 08.17.18
I love Cunningham's, have been there several times. My only comment that is negative is that this time it was for a birthday, which I noted on my reservation, but there was no mention of it during our meal.
We frequent Cunningham’s, but were disappointed with the food, this time around. Being the height of summer, we went in expecting to be wowed. The employees talk about the relationship with Cunningham farms. Farm to table.....We had a harvest pizza that had canned artichoke hearts on it. The gazpacho was more of a borscht soup. Interesting flavors, but not of summer.
Watermelon salad was 6 x 1 inch strip of Watermelon, with goat cheese. 4 bites....
We like the staff, so we will return, hoping for a better representation of farm fresh.
So loud in there we could barely hear people at our own table. We had Ronnie as our waiter who was nice but not very attentive. Our order was wrong but was due probably because of the noisy nature of the restaurant and he couldn’t hear us well? Took our drink order but then we didn’t see him for 30 minutes to order our food. (We all finished our cocktails in about ten mins then did get our second round for awhile) Our table was crowded and not bussed until the very end which bothered me. Food was pretty good but I was expecting better because the menu looked so amazing. Great steak! Overall, we had 6 people excited to try this restaurant for the first time and we all left underwhelmed by the experience.
Great food & great music on the patio
