Curious Cafe & Bar Norcino
The Curious interior, designed by proprietor Luigi Coccaro and designer Rhonda Lebedoff, reflects the hip sensibilities urban area's while also paying tribute to Kelowna's storied past. Adding to the mystique of the setting is the location's history, as it used to be a run-down tobacco shop, now transformed into a warm hang out.
The multi-room restaurant offers the choice to eat comfortably on the café side where one may watch the art of cooking as it occurs in the open-kitchen room or sit on the community table side where 16 beers flow from our rotating taps.
Private dining at Curious Cafe is located in Bar Norcino.View Private Dining Details
Really good food, excellent service and tons of different drinks
love this place! service was awesome! great atmosphere and the best burger in town.
FABULOUS MUSIC - soft jazz background music. Upscale but easy to hear conversation
Great spot for a fantastic Mother’s Day meal! Luigi, the owner, was very accommodating since we had a baby and let us pick the easiest table to sit at. Service was great. Food was tasty and filling. Everything was spot on during a busy brunch service.
Our server was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed for at least 2 hours for lunch and we were never rushed. The food was fabulous!
Waitress service was pretty good but the kitchen was slow getting the food out...over twenty minutes...when it did come the food was delicious....portions were dreadfully SMALL though...one two egg dish ( veggie Bennie so just egg and a 2 inch English muffin and s half a cup of potatoes ) and one one egg dish ( mushroom toast one slice with a few mushrooms and a single egg) and two coffees...$ 46 plus tip...so over $50......Tasty food but poor value...if you are American or British and used to a decent sized meal...you’ll not find it here....
The whole experience was very enjoyable and we would certainly return again. There was hardly anyone there when we arrived so it was comfortable to have conversation however as the crowds came the noise level became a bit too loud for our liking. I
Great atmosphere, even better food! One of our favorite date night spots!
I love going to The Curious for every occasion from date night, girls night, and casual hang out with friends. From having lunch & coffee to wine or a cocktail and one of their incredible pizzas at dinner everything on the menu is fantastic.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere! Loved it.
Great place! Awesome food!
Mediocre experience at Curious. Not fond of the new communal seating, feels like a cafeteria. Service started out okay but later the waitress was busy with other tables so spent very little time at ours. The pizzas everyone else ordered looked good, but my meal was horrible, the worst I’ve had in Kelowna. My chicken cutlet sandwich was missing the coleslaw & mushroom sauce and the bun it came on was stale & stiff. So disappointing!
Love this place as a pre-Rockets game venue. Excellent beer selection and food.
We went for Dine Around to help support local restaurants. One of our party has allergies, so there was nothing on the Dine Around menu that was suitable. She ordered off the regular menu and was told what was in the plate and how it was cooked so agreed to have it. The waitress came back to make sure of an item. I asked for extra cheese on my pizza. The extra cheese never came. My wife's plate had an item on it that wasn't described to her and she is allergic to. Another meal was offered, but declined. Overall, a very disappointing evening. Would not recommend.
Service was good but the burger was probably the worst restaurant burger we have had. The patty was very dense / hard and undercooked.
Always relaxing at the Curious Cafe...good spot for meeting friends for a quick bite.
The food, beer and atmosphere was just awesome. We will be back again!
Second time in there - first for a group reception and the second for a casual dinner with friends. Good service from a friendly server. Food was great and good value but would like to see a bit bigger menu. A little noisy but tolerable even for table talk and well set up for large or small groups. Will go back.
Great bartender, fantastic food, amazing beers on tap. Only downside was that we never got our table. I made a reservation for a special night with my wife and I and a couple of friends. We ended up having to sit at the bar. Thankfully our friends cancelled last minute, and my wife and I are pretty chill, so we didn't make a fuss about sitting at the bar (to be honest, it's a better layout for 2 people than across a table from each other). We will definitely be back, this small glitch seemed like a one off on a busy night, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Curious to anyone.
We were celebrating the impending arrival of a new baby and the staff was super accommodating to me bringing in some balloons and colored napkins - that was greatly appreciated! We were pleasantry surprised to see a new brunch menu since we had thought that though the menu is small, the food is always good! Some great new additions to the menu, including several vegetarian options with accommodations possible for dairy/gluten free (also very much appreciated!). I was left a little hungry after though and wanting more - I had the frittata and was expecting it to be a bit bigger but it was still delicious! Our server was very friendly and extremely helpful :)
Food was amazing! Burger, pizza and truffle fries great! Their fries are the best!
Authentic Italian pizza with other dishes on the menu. A formula that has not changed too much over the years but definitely worth a visit
The service was very poor. I had a reservation online for 9pm, waited to be seated for 10 minutes without anyone coming up to me. Eventually had to approach a waitress and ask if we needed to seat ourselfes. Did not get to sit down until 9:30 because they ignored setting up our table. Another waiter had to ask us if we wanted a seat and I had to explain we actually had a reservation half an hour ago and then evenually he set up the table. Curious used to be a lovely place for dinner, the food is great but the service ruins the whole experience.
Pizza was not good. That’s basically all the menu is. They don’t know how to make a Moscow mule either.
Always enjoy my meals and service at the Curious! Glad that it has reopened.
Went twice - once for weekend brunch, once for dinner. Brunch had only 3 or 4 options. I love a fancy breakfast and presentation wise it was beautiful, but thank goodness there were lots of potatoes otherwise I'd have left hungry on an egg benny breakfast. There was no meat, but it mentioned goat cheese and that was more of a saucey garnish to decorate the plate. The homemade English muffins were the size of 2 twoonies and the poached eggs were bigger than them so there was no bread to stop up the yolk or sauce. Plus they tasted more like soda bread. For $20 I expect more, especially without meat. Decided to give it another shot for appies before a concert, they didnt have calamari, which was the only true appie, so we had truffle fries, hummus and mac & cheese. Fries were delicious. Hummus was good if you like cumin, but came with crisps that broke as soon as we dipped them. We ended up eating hummus by the spoon and balancing the cracker on it. The mac and cheese was liquidy and runny and they forgot to put the bacon in it. My friends also tried to order the pina colada and they didnt have that either. All around fail. Disappointed in both experiences and likely wont go back unless it's to try their pizza. It looked good and there are few places in town to get brick oven pizza with decent ambience. Not excited to spend my money there again though, so will probably not. I was excited when they reopened to give it a try, but the creativity of the menu descriptions are poorly executed.
Services was great! Not much to choose from for brunch — only breakfast options really. Y’all used have chicken & waffles..: heartbreaking. Brioche toast is amazing though! Love this place but maybe not for brunch
Restaurant was closed for renovations when we arrived.
I am also now receiving emails with links trying to hack my account since using open table.
Will not recommend your service or the restaurant.
I met a friend for wine and pizza. We had the (thin crust) fungi pizza. It was fabulous. The crust was perfect. We had different wines and both really enjoyed our waiters recommendation as our choices were sold out. We will be back!
Really enjoy coming here before the symphony. Love the Burrowing Owl wine
My first time there for lunch, a business lunch. Service was great. Would appreciate a wider selection. Enjoyed the meal and can see the open set up being great for large parties.
Great food, great service! The environment was very welcoming and casual. Made for a good night out with friends!
Awesome food and lovely service !
Love this place !
Only ever eaten the pizzas. But once I had my first one I couldn't bring myself to order anything but....
They are delicious!
It took a bit of time to get our meals (4 people) and when we were served, one order was wrong, pizza instead of chicken...they quickly prepared the chicken and did not charge us for that meal. Nicely redeemed.
Birthday lunch was good, found it a bit overpriced. Neat setting to sit down and relax.
This is one of my favorite spots for a casual meal. The menu is full of things that offer different takes on the usual fare. Great coffee and a nice selection of beer make this a nice place to catch up with friends.
Love this place, service is a little slow but will still go back.
Food was good but took a long time. It is very noisy so not really conducive to group
Nothing but good things to say about this place love it!!!
If you have any food restrictions, I would go elsewhere. It’s never fun to leave a restaurant starving. Our waitress treated us very well though!
