Nice twist on traditional Indian dishes. Great service and nice ambiance for a group dinner. Lots of dishes to choose from and chef selected a bunch for us to share.

Disclaimer: Came here for a Yelp Elite event. The appetizer and cocktail was complimentary, everything else was paid for out of pocket. Walking into Curryish Tavern, the ambiance is warm and welcoming, kind of like walking into a room with a warm fireplace. The food was good. Seems like they're going for an upscale and modern spin on Indian cuisine. The beef cheek curry was flavourful and tender, paired well with the rice that we ordered on the side. The lamb burger and fries were really flavourful as well, the potato bun for the lamb burger was a bit soggy, room for improvement there. The service was good, our server was friendly and attentive, but the server seems a bit inexperienced. Felt a bit rushed toward the end, when our server kept coming over to clear the table and asked if she could take my masala that I was still working on. Not a big issue but definitely room for refinement. The biggest downside for this restaurant though is probably the price point for what they're offering. For example, one of the dishes we ordered was the beef cheek curry which was $33, and to add rice on the side was an additional $6. It's unlikely that someone would eat a curry dish with no sort of carb on the side, so if you were to order their curry your total would be $39 before tax and tip. Taking into account 13% tax and 15% tip at the minimal, this is a $50 curry dish with rice. It's a bit outrageous for a curry dish. As for the Julep cocktail, that was complimentary through Yelp, it is not worth $16 based on presentation and complexity. I would probably not pay $16 for this cocktail if it wasn't complimentary. In general, this restaurant definitely has a lot of potential. The food is good overall and ambiance is warm and welcoming. Staff is friendly, just some additional training can help elevate the dining experience offered. The price point for the dishes should be adjusted, it's quite overpriced for what is being offered.

Hi Linh, thank you for your feedback, unfortunately with the times we are in, food costs have gone through the roof, we use organic, and straight-from-the-farm ingredients in our food, something that not every place does, plus the ingredients, sauces, and delicate balance of flavours we create takes a lot of time, cost, prep, and creativity. For this we are a little bit higher than other restaurants but as you can see many agree that we have incredible food. As for the server issue, we will take a look at that, as we want our guests to have the best experience and let the kitchen team know about your lamb burger. Also for the cocktails you will see most places charge a minimum 15-16 dollars per cocktail, so its in the right price range, and with the flavours and special candy cane syrup.

Curryish’s (Queen Street West) semolina fries were amazing, as was the cauliflower curry with gnocchi, and the upside down lamb biryani. The pomegranate raita was excellent, too. We had a great meal and good service. We will go back to try the Brunch, for sure.

Curryish Tavern would surely be one of my favourite places to eat modern Indian food. The place has a unique way of creating food plates that would capture the essence of authentic Indian food yet giving it a unique blend of flavours. They surely do have a menu for people who might want to stick to curries and grills that would be lighter on the palate. This place always keeps me interested with their selected menu creations or the alacarte menu itself.

Server was very Interested making sure that we had the best experience. The food was delicious. However, the pork belly appetizer was disappointing as the pork was shredded into a pate and then stuffed into a certain pastry. They could’ve used pork butt for all we know. The dessert was my favourite part as it reminded me of play on baklava. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely return.

we went for a date night to have the Diwali tasting menu. it was amazing and worth the price. we loved everything we had and are definitely going to return. if i were to offer some constructive feedback, i'd say that the initial part of our dining experience had a few hiccups. despite pre-booking the tasting menu, there seemed to be a disconnect, and the server wasn't aware of our choice until we mentioned it. we had to ask for the tasting menus, which should have been provided automatically. additionally, there was some confusion between the hot chai and the chai cocktail, and we received the wrong one. at one point, they also brought us food that we hadn't ordered, as it was meant for another table. these issues affected the smoothness of our dining experience.

First time at Curryish Tavern and was impressed with the quality and flavour of the food. Most importantly the service was impeccable. Chef Miheer was so attentive and intentional with every dish. He ensured that our dining experience was superb and even engaged with our kids to ensure they enjoyed their meals. To top it off he made sure we got to try one of the dishes that wasn’t available at the time of ordering because they were just preparing it. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back again!

Great food especially oysters and the beef cheek curry. There were very loud diners near us to the point I could not hear my guest, which was very annoying, but I suppose this was the tavern part of the meal.

Very rich flavor, highly recommend to have rice to go with your dish. The garlic roti is disappointing if you are looking for traditional garlic naan, it is more like a thin pancake! Also no mango lassi.

Our meal at Curryish far exceeded my expectations and my expectations were very high. The butter chicken made in a butternut squash sauce was one of the most delicious items I had…and I do not like butter chicken! We had to keep ordering more food…it was so delicious we couldn’t stop eating. Definitely I will be returning!!!

Maybe our 5th or 6th time eating here. This is such a hidden gem. The food is very creative, it's done with a light touch, so you don't feel like you need to detox your liver when you're done. Delightful staff, warm and friendly owner. Zero complaints... we'll be back again and again.

We chose to have our friend's bachelor party dinner at Curryish because we are fans of the restaurant. The entire process of planning the party was super easy and working with Miheer really went the extra mile for us. Everyone loved the food and the entire experience. Can't wait to go there again!

A wonderful meal. Six of us shared six appetizers and five mains. All we’re super-creative… delicious, and not spicy. We skipped dessert because we were full. The dessert choices were much more appetizing than any other Indian restaurant in which we’ve eaten. We’ve had Indian food on five continents, including six Indian states. This was like none other. Small bites, creative sauces, great textural variety. Aside from original takes on dosas, samosas, and pakoras none of the others was like anything we’ve experienced before. We were advised and served by the owner and two others. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly. It is on my list for Bib Gourmand — food of Michelin star quality in a lower key, less fancy setting.

I enjoyed some of the dishes such as the branzino which was good and the stuffed paneer (cheese) and bread. The butter chicken in green sauce was pretty disappointing and very basic- the twist did not work for me. The panipuri with a twist was also a genuine waste of money as its really nothing special and highly overpriced. It was ok for a one time only experience.

A creative and wonderful adaptation of classic Indian cuisine, influenced by French and Italian approaches. Not "fusion" but influence. Also softer less spicey-hot dishes. Lovely dishes as mains also lots of interesting small plates. A great find

Highly recommend a visit to Curryish Tavern. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We tried the green tomato butter chicken, beef cheek curry and the eggplant and peanut curry. I'd definitely return in the near future

What a fun experience! The food was amazing, and staff so kind. The broccoli pakora, tuna pani puri and pork belly appam were delicious. The butter chicken and aloo gnocchi were so different and - wow, so incredible. Save room for dessert, and chai! Chef Shete was very kind and introduced several of the dishes. Definitely recommend!

The menu was so interesting that our party of four couldn't decide, so we asked the owner to bring the dishes he would recommend. And, my goodness, he didn't disappoint! We had an outstanding dinner. Dishes are a creative fusion of Indian and Western cuisine. The servers were amazing - knowledgeable, professional, friendly. If you're looking for a unique food experience in Toronto, this is the place!

What an amazing culinary experience! From creative cocktails to teaser starters to star entrees. We were a group of six that went family style so everyone got to experience the spectrum of tastes. Finally, we spent some time at the end with the chef to learn about his journey and unique approach…which provide some nice context on the why behind the menu choices.
