D4 Irish Pub & Cafe, named after Dublin's premiere zip code, brings a taste of Dublin to Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood. Serving modern favorites with an Irish flair, our kitchen puts the comfort of home cooking into all of our dishes. From our rustic shepherd's pie and hand battered fish & chips to our towering Angus beef burgers and warm bread pudding, we use the finest and freshest ingredients in all of our homemade recipes.

We really enjoy this restaurant but were disappointed on Sunday. We made an 11am reservation and looked forward to enjoying their yummy brunch menu. We learned upon being seated that they put a "pause" on brunch for January and February. Unfortunately this information was not readily available on the website, as we looked at the brunch menu the evening before our visit. Communication is key! While my salad was delicious, it's not what I planned to eat at 11am.

Overall: A really good experience. I would return. Ambiance: We were seated at a standard height table near a fireplace. The gorgeous woodwork, built-in bookshelves and tea light candle at each table, gave the space an extra warmth and charm. Service: Our server went at our pace and took care of us. The manager checked in with us. Other staff cleared our plates and kept things tidy. Food: The chopped chicken salad was excellent. I especially thought the sliced dates were extra-special. The fish and chips were fine, but I prefer the Dearborn. Sadly, the cheese curds were a bit cold and the habanero ranch was a tad too spicy for me.

We went in late December and were greeted with a cozy pub filled with Christmas decorations. We ordered Guinness and some whiskey. The cheese curds were well fried and delish. The fish and chips were crispy and never got the dreaded sog! The Reuben was filled with corned beef and the shepherds pie was the ultimate comfort food. Our server was attentive without being clingy. I highly recommend. This was the best Irish food we’ve had in a while! The only thing missing was live music.

This place is always really good, especially in the winter. The atmosphere is cozy as is the food. If you like Big Macs, get the burger sliders. The shepherd’s pie is also very good comfort food, and they have all kinds of British beer combinations like black and tan.

We made a reservation for 4. We were brought to a table near the fireplace and it was a booth that only had 1 extra chair. The hostess walked away and we had to find the 4th chair to bring over to table. Food was good. However my son found a hair in his macaroni and cheese. They replaced it but it just isn’t a fun thing to find.

Dinner at D4 was amazing as always! Great food, awesome service and neighborhood pub vibe. This is our go to restaurant, as we live in the area. One of the other features I like is the little “library” in the back room where you borrow a book to take home and enjoy before returning it. Love when the fireplace is lit on a chilly day too.

After seeing an afternoon movie at the River East AMC we needed some place for dinner and D4 is just around the block. Service was incredibly fast and the food was good in a pleasant environment with good music playing. I'm looking forward to coming back to explore other menu items.
