   We had a wonderful server who gave us an unforgettable date night on our first night in Montreal. It had been a few years since I’d been, they haven’t skipped a beat. Can’t wait for our next visit.

    Très beau cadre, très agréable, malheureusement la nourriture n’est pas du tout à la hauteur. Sauce tomate acide, ravioles industrielles. La cuisine n’est pas italienne. Pas de saveurs authentiques. Je ne recommande pas.

    We really enjoyed this experience. From the unusual entry into the underground, to the unique historical room, with outstanding service, wonderful food with a great variety of options, and of course delicious wine. We would definitely return.

    My husband and I had date night. Ambiance was amazing!!! My husband had the lasagna - served cold. 😞 The table of four women had a lot more attention by the same server.

    Very poor service!!! Server apparently felt it was to busy!! Very weird attitude in the get go.. we had to tell him everything we wanted right away !! I mean the the place was half full!! And had to finish with an attitude when time for paying. First time and defy the last!!!!

    There was a hair in my plate. The waiter was nice , replaced it and offered me a glass of wine . It was still something not acceptable for a big restaurant like this. They replaced my plate & I paid the plate.

    Very poor experience. Waiter was rude. Never really waited on us. Came up to us and asked, “So, are you going to order or what?” He never explained the specials, never took an appetizer order, nothing. The food was unremarkable. I’d avoid if I were you.

    Our waiter was just perfect, made our first experience at Da Emma exceptional. The food was delicious, tasty and presented delicately. It was just too bad the side fusilli coming with the veal was not home made. Overall, with the cozy atmosphere, a very welcoming host and delectable meals, we had a delightful evening.

    I have mixed feelings about my experience at Da Emma. For a restaurant with such a great reputation and in such a beautiful part of Old Montreal - the food was extremely BASIC. Charging 8$ for a bottle of flat water (although from Italy), but not leaving the cap should we not finish it? The mushroom pasta, tasteless, as was the lasagna. I figured the pasta would be homemade but it wasn't. We ordered the caprese salad but they were sold out so we got the Buffalo di Mozzarella one, genereous portion of cheese but not much aragula to pair with it. Basic meals with basic flavours, I had a much better Italian meal experience at Tomate Blanche at Dix30 in Brossard. If it wasn't for the actual look of the restaurant, being in a historic, stoney basement. I would not return. It was my second time here and it was my last.

    I’ve tried a lot of Italian restaurants in Montreal but this was by far the best ! My expectations were high and they exceeded all of them. First, the food was phenomenal, best authentic Italian food in town . Second, the service was great ! The waiters were experienced , very professional and friendly ( thank you to Michel our waiter ). And last , the venue was very unique and warm, we loved the brick walls and wood beams. I recommend it 100% , it was our first visit but not the last !!

    We read many fabulous reviews that led us to Da Emma tonight, but we were thoroughly disappointed from start to finish. Possibly the worst was the service or absence of service. Our waiter was, absent, dismissive and rude. We looked to ask for everything from more Parmesan, more pepper and more wine but our waiter was nowhere to be found. The simple arugula and parmesan salad was delicious, but the pasta Al Fungi was boring. Flavorless actually. This restaurant seems to be riding on laurels from some time ago.

    Very good place to eat, very unusual, the food is awesome the service great. However the server forget us at one time we had to run after him to have the desert card, and the place can be a bit noisy while it start to have a lot of person. Bht it remain a very good restaurant. I higly recommand.

    A first class experience! The wait staff is terrific. From the start you feel like you’re in a private supper club. Even though it was busy, the tables are spaced well apart and the background noise could barely be perceived. The pace of the meal was perfect. No rushing at all. The wait staff were older and highly professional. The food, from the apps to the desert (and the wine) were scrumptious. The interesting part is finding the restaurant. There is a small sign on a basement stairway. When you go down the stairs, you’re still not sure you’re in the right place. Open an unmarked industrial door and you enter an elegant space ready to make your evening. Enjoy yourself as this establishment will not disappoint. (A great place to take a date or someone very special). Five stars!!

    I wanted to go back because I hadn’t been since before the pandemic. This is a montreal institution where if you wanted high quality ingredients with impeccable execution in the kitchen you would always be satisfied. Unfortunately, my last experience has been mediocre. The food was average, the presentation was poor. I will let a few weeks pass and I will try it again to see if it was just bad luck. All my past experiences had been great , just not this one.
