   A first class experience! The wait staff is terrific. From the start you feel like you’re in a private supper club. Even though it was busy, the tables are spaced well apart and the background noise could barely be perceived. The pace of the meal was perfect. No rushing at all. The wait staff were older and highly professional. The food, from the apps to the desert (and the wine) were scrumptious. The interesting part is finding the restaurant. There is a small sign on a basement stairway. When you go down the stairs, you’re still not sure you’re in the right place. Open an unmarked industrial door and you enter an elegant space ready to make your evening. Enjoy yourself as this establishment will not disappoint. (A great place to take a date or someone very special). Five stars!!

   I wanted to go back because I hadn’t been since before the pandemic. This is a montreal institution where if you wanted high quality ingredients with impeccable execution in the kitchen you would always be satisfied. Unfortunately, my last experience has been mediocre. The food was average, the presentation was poor. I will let a few weeks pass and I will try it again to see if it was just bad luck. All my past experiences had been great , just not this one.

   What an awesome place! You are essentially dining in a former dungeon, which adds to the cozy, subterranean ambiance. The food is outstanding and the service was excellent. I highly recommend a visit while in Old Montreal!

   Overall best Italian restaurant in MTL, great service throughout the evening. Food was fantastic. I recommend Da Emma to everyone who would like a real typical italian meal in a beautiful ambiance.

   Nous n'avons pas apprécié notre repas. Nourriture plus qu'ordinaire pour le prix. Aucun raffinement. Mes pâtes très dures. Agneau dans une assiette avec 4 petits morceaux de patates dans une autre assiette. Prosciutto sur melon sans fantaisie. Aucune belle présentation. Quand même pour le prix on s'attend à plussssss.

    Pretty good overall. The restaurant was not very busy, but we still had to wait and ask for our waiter multiple times (to order, to get the bill, etc). We enjoyed the burrata and meatballs. The pork had a generous portion but looked better than it tasted. We noted that it was a special occasion, but there was no mention of it. Would not come back given that the food and service was lacking

    Beautiful old space, great service, veal ravioli and fettuccine were perfect, Spanish coffees and desert to top it all off - definitely worth a return visit.

    Traditional Italian food that is well prepared. I felt found was good and what we expected. Service was attentive and excellent. Not inexpensive but overall a good evening and we’d return.
