Disaster. Rude staff. Over priced. Stained glasses. Wrong orders. Stale food (tardig). Couldn’t find my reservation albeit the place was empty. Again, inexperienced and rude staff for such an expensive place.

The restaurant is beautiful inside. The server was very nice. We were two diners. The server provided us with a small plate of free flatbreads with 3 pieces of walnuts, parsley and one very tiny slice of cheese. Not sure how he expected two of us to share the accompaniments for the flatbread. The portion of the salad was tiny for the price. Overall, the prices of the entrees was very high. Yet, the tenderloin veal was juicy and delicious. Overall, not worth the price.

We sat on the patio and had a wonderful evening with friends. Delicious food, great service, and fun evening. Recommend going with friends and sharing the platter with a variety of shishkabobs. Outstanding!

We go there once in a while but this time they seemed to be very disorganized. And Darbar koobideb wasn't good at all. And surprisingly they prices have gone up for no reason. It was very disappointing.

I love the chicken kobidah and that’s the only reason I go there. Today they had this offer “chicken kobidah + salad + beer or wine for $30. Usual price of the dish is $23. Had fun. Surely will go again for the kobidah

The restaurant did not honour my reservation and I had driven all the way there with my family for the host to tell me the restaurant was full and we would have to wait awhile. They did not call to tell me they could not honour the reservation and they did not seem apologetic. I will not be going back there.

Food was excellent all the meats where cooked to the proper doneness. Service is a bit off, the servers are nice however not very experienced. The choice of wine is very limited, they didn’t have most wines on the list.

Authentic and yummy. Need to have Barbary for bread as well then even better. Great apps. Really nice atmosphere. Prices are higher then other places with better food. They need to turn up the quality.

This is a very nice restaurant, much more upscale than other middle eastern type restaurants. Great menu with lots of selections, but I felt the prices were too high. Everything should be reduced by at least $5.00. For example, $28 for 1 skewer of chicken kebab is way out of line. Nearly every appetizer is $12 or more. The food was delicious and the service was good.

I live in the area and have been looking forward to visiting Darbar for quite some time. I was disappointed when Left Bank Bistro closed, but that is the fate of restaurants in Toronto. I enjoy Persian food, and everything I heard / read about this new place said the same thing: great food, lousy service. After our party of 4 was seated, except for asking if we wanted water, nothing happened for 50 minutes. Not a full hour, but 50 minutes. That is when our waitress showed up for the first time and asked if we would like to order. We ordered. A different waiter took our alcohol order. We tried to order a bottle of wine. We were told that the first 2 selections we asked for off their menu were not available. Seriously? We ordered a Barolo, they delivered an Amarone, we just took it. Want to know something else? I called a few days earlier to ask for their corkage fee. I was told “they were not allowed to serve any wine other than what was on the menu”. So, another 30 minutes passes, and our waitress shows up to say she lost the paper with our order. I’m not making this stuff up. We reorder. In the meantime, the table beside us gets their food served to them, even though they arrived about an hour after us. One of our party speaks directly to one of the wait staff in Farsi. Not sure what was said, but I doubt it was complimentary. After that, our table gets a little more attention. The good news is, that when the food arrives, it was quite tasty, excellent eggplant yogurt appetizer as well as yogurt and cucumber. The beef, chicken and fillet were all excellent. The fillet with pomegranate was too saucy; you can pass on that one. Would I go back; never. Going out for dinner on a Saturday evening with friends is more than just the food. It is the experience, which starts with the service. The service here is an embarrassment. If this place is open a year from now, I will be surprised. But don’t take my word for it, judge for yourself.

Amazing food and ambiance. Service was a bit slow, once we got our food, we did not see our server until we asked another for dessert and tea. Overall this is a favourite for us and will be returning.

I found “DARBAR” a classic (and classy) family-run restaurant that treats everyone like family. I can't begin to describe how great this place is. The food is absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation. I have never tried anything on their menu that I didn't enjoy. Many thanks to the manager and staff for doing a great job! Will definitely be back! Love this place!
