While food was good, quite expensive and did not have whipped cream for dessert; rather than ask if we still wished to order, it came without and charged us full price.

Food was excellent and prices and portions were reasonable. Thursday lunch time was a bit quieter/emptier than I typically like, but understandable for November. Service tempo was also a bit slower than optimal for a weekday business lunch (although very friendly/polite).

We had a great evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The portions are very small. And to be honest the food wasn't as tasty as expected. We needed extra sauce for our meals to enjoy them more.

We had dinner here last night for my friends birthday. The decor, music and vibe is unmatched. The food was incredible and our server Giulianna was top notch. This was my second visit and I can’t wait to go back! I highly recommend Darya :)

Went expecting a bit of a roadhouse experience given the restaurant is associated with a new development but was pleasantly surprised. Very good food- the cheesecake in phyllo was scrumptious. The only wrinkle was the music- a kind of Middle East trance track that was repetitive and a bit annoying. Our happy chatter soon drowned it out. Recommended!

This was our first experience at Darya. Located directly on the Halifax waterfront, it is a lively restaurant with tasty delights from a midsize menu. The grilled Octopus and Lamb Tagine were very good. Like most Halifax restaurants the initial impression on walk in is lacking. We believe hosts should make you feel like they know you when you walk in but are aware of the desire for the business to turn tables over in a timely manner resulting in a less personal experience. We were fortunate to be served by Victoria. She was incredibly attentive, apologetic for any delays of minimal length and made sure to ask if there was anyway she could improve her service. That was exceptional. My only recommendation would be to soften the place up a bit and add more authentic decor.

Great restaurant! The vibes, the decor, the views, and the food!! All fantastic. Three of us went for lunch and weren’t too hungry so just had the kebabs (chicken, lamb, beef tenderloin) and got the carrots as a side. It was all delicious. Looking forward to going again to try the moussaka and others!

Beautiful dining venue, especially good for date night. Food was sometimes delicious and sometimes a bit dry and oddly seasoned. Grape leaves were not at all good but the chickpea and tahini was divine. Worth another visit.

The server needs lessons in doing the job. It seemed as though she was a beginner. I was suprised when the table nearby gave the server compliments as they settled the bill.

The restaurant was an enjoyable experience. We found the wine choices extremely expand limited. The food was very good but the bread and olive appetizer was short on olives. The chicken was excellent as was my husband’s partitions

This was my second experience at Darya’s! The ambiance, the aesthetics, absolutely comfortable. I adore this establishment. The food is very cultured and full of colourful flavours. Definitely in the upper echelons of dining experience in Halifax. Raz… you are classy and your professionalism is appreciated.

We celebrated a family birthday with a dinner at Darya and it was excellent: delicious food and attentive service. We enjoyed sharing several small plates as well as the large dishes. The pasticcicio and cauliflower shaksuka, in particular, were outstanding.

My partner and I have gone to Darya for many dates and anniversaries! We’ve tried the whole menu and we suggest you do the same. Great for sharing and tons of flavour. One of our favourite servers Oliver always treats us like queens. Thanks for the great service every time :)

We had a lovely time, especially with our server (i can’t remember her name but she was amazing and deserves to be put on large parties often). We actually all spoke about it after as well. She created an unrushed vibe for us to sit back and enjoy our food. The appetizer to main course switchover was seamless, especially with the way she gave us the first plates - Our conversation was uninterrupted and she waited for the perfect moment to place it down in front of each guest. Thank you so much to her for this lovely experience!

A second lovely meal at Darya. We had the avocado fattoush salad, the lamb tagline and the mushroom kebab. It was delicious, service was excellent and the views are the best in Halifax.

Won’t disappoint! We’ve been meaning to go to Darya for a while and like everything else we just didn’t get around to it! Until Saturday morning we decided to see if they had a table for that night and yay! Success we got in at 6:15. I think this is the perfect time to go as it’s just about busy enough without getting too loud and I suspect that it could be a bit noisy later on in the evening (maybe I am just getting old!!) the food is really good and as a vegan I was so pleased at the very clearly indicated items on the menu so I didn’t feel like a pain to have to ask (I did my research before so I knew I should be fine, it’s just nice to be able to have a selection so thank you for that) I was able to mix and match the starters and sides as unfortunately for me I don’t like mushrooms and that was the main option but honestly I think doing my combo was much more fun and I got to try lots more that way!! My husband had the calamari to start and said it was tasty and then the half chicken for his main course and gobbled it up with glee! Wine and cocktails were great and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Can’t wait to come back, thank you to all the people who work there it was brilliant xx

First time to Darya and we will be back for sure. We had a group of 5 for a birthday and shared several different plates. The salmon kabob was fantastic as was the eggplant. Super evening with terrific service.

We came to celebrate a special occasion. The ambience was nice and enjoyable, the host was very welcoming and the appetizers were amazing! But, we were told that any of the mains would be suitable to share between two people, which was not the case and we ordered two mains. We were not made aware of any food and drink upcharges, simply saw them on the bill. Our server was very stand offish and cold, spent a lot of time at other tables and made lengthy conversation with other tables—yet would barely make eye contact with my partner and myself. We didn't even receive a reply when we thanked our waiter for water or for clearing our plates. Other waiters came to our table and were nice and pleasant, but ours rarely came to the table and we were uncomfortable to ask them for anything due to the attitude put out. Despite the table service, we still enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. I would return to share appetizers again.

The food, service and decor was great but the background music was very annoying - heavy base background that made it difficult to hear the other 3 people at our table. If you were to switch the music to something more mellow. easy listening, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food. Simple street or taverna style but presented beautifully! Finally a place to get some grilled squid and octopus at. Beautiful enterior but music a bit too loud and bit too dark. Light color writing on the menu makes it very difficult to read in such lighting. Regardless, I would recommend and will go back.
