Days on Front
This time around service was less than professional, slow and not overly friendly.
Food on the other hand is always superb.
Lackluster wine list, featuring no wines of distinction.
Tip: Bring your favorite bottle of wine, the corkage fee of $CAN 18.00 is quite reasonable.
Very pleased with everything. Nice selection of appetizers, main menu. The dessert was fabulous, bread pudding. I would recommend this restaurant, and already have. A very nice evening out?
Love this place. Gem in Kingston
Great food, great staff, nice getaway in the west end. Standout appetizers.
Had the Calamari and a ceasar salad. Calamari was crisp and tasty and the salad was fresh and fully flavoured. One of our favourite places.
Outstanding as always. The food and the service never disappoints.
Great area in bar to catch an app and drink pre theatre!
Scallops were perfectly cooked, the bacon jam adds delicious flavour. Salads were very tasty with an interesting variety of greens.
We were seated a a table perfect for three that had some privacy for good conversation. Well curated food and wine. Each selection had a “twist” making familiar dishes fresh and “new again”.
We had a lovely mid-afternoon lunch celebrating both a birthday and graduation with our family. The food did not disappoint. My gnocchi was delicious and the calamari was perfect with a light crispy coating and flavourful aioli. We also really enjoyed the cauliflower bites with the curry-type sauce. We treated ourselves to two shared desserts...yum! The service was attentive but unobtrusive. I will definitely go back.
Keep that wonderful lamb special from Saturday night on the menu!
My guest says it was the best meal he had eaten there ever!
As always, great service and fantastic food.
Everything was great
My wife and I went to Days on Front for a celebratory dinner recently, and both agree we would go back again. Food was well prepared, and the menu was tempting. The location is a bit odd, but a nice addition to the west end of Kingston. They have done what they could to create ambiance in what looks like it might have once been an office in a strip mall, and they have succeeded beyond expectation.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The service is always amazing, but it is the food that always brings us back. We have tried many of the things on the menu and are always totally satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
There is only one problem with Days on Front--too many people know about it. The quality is excellent, and so is the service (even when they are short one server). Parking is free and the value for money is excellent (how many restaurants offer a wine list of 40 bottles each under $30?). Plan in advance and be sure to make a reservation. They belong to OpenTable.ca so it's quick and easy to find out if they have room, even if they are closed at the time you want to book. Highly recommended!
Yes. There were four in our party, one of whom was in a wheelchair and the accommodation and service around that was just fabulous. Our server, unfortunately her name escapes me, was just lovely to our friend who has a bit of difficulty expressing herself. It was a great experience, the first time she had been out with us in two years. Many thanks for your kindness and help.
Days on Front is a great place to go for lunch or dinner.
It is the other side of town for us so we usually save it for special occasions or if our companions joining us live in the West end.
The menu is varied enough for everyone.
Our family likes to cook but this restaurant ups the ingredients from everyday meals so it is treat to have a meal there.
Don't let the location deter you this is an amazing restaurant and well worth the drive! We were a party of 5 and everything we ordered was outstanding! We had a special bottle of champagne for our daughters graduation which they were happy to serve to us with a small corkage fee. All and all a great experience for a very special occasion!
My guest and I were so impressed, right from the start: the decor, service, food and presentation, value, etc. Everything was of high quality. We had an amazing meal in a wonderful setting with every attention to detail with the service. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Our little out of the way place pears to be better known now. Despite being almost full, the staff were attentive and the food arrived in a reasonable time. The meals were well prepared and reasonably priced. The wine selection isn't huge, but it covers the bases and the prices are good. It nice to have a restaurant that we can rely on when we visit Kingston.
Always great food and service. A regular visitor to this restaurant and never disappointed.
Excellent as always!!
This was a really pleasant surprise, and a most enjoyable working lunch with my friends. The waiter was particularly helpful, and the food was delicious. I have already recommended it to others.
Unfortunately a painting fell off the wall. My 95 year old Mother was almost hit but luckily there was no injury. It was a party of four and the server offered us all free desserts. The mishap was a little frightening but all good in the end. The food was excellent.
The food and the service was excellent. I would definitely return.
Great experience! Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
We had seating for two, in a corner with a small table with one of us facing a wall...not great ambiance
High quality cuisine with friendly, courteous service. Every dish was outstanding. Particularly loved the pork belly appetizer!
Had an anniversary dinner at Days on Front and we were delighted by the experience. Unassuming from the exterior, this quaint restaurant is definitely a jewel in Kingston. Our dinner experience revealed excellent food and service in a comfortable and quiet atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone considering a great meal in a plaisant setting.
Food always delicious. Service always attentive. As a diner it is admirable to watch how coordinated the front of the house seems to be. Everyone has a role and everyone is busy multitasking. Always a wonderful dining experience.
The food and service was excellent, as always. This is the ‘go to’ dining experience! We are always made to feel so welcome.
I am a lover of fine dining and Days on Front has everything I would expect from a dining experience. It was our 25th anniversary and we were met with smiles and professionlism right from the onset.
GREATWORK AND LETS NOT FORGET THE CHEF. The presentation was amazing and the taste was to die for.
Amazing food and service as always! Lobster Risotto was very tasty. Please bring back the Beef Tenderloin!
Awesome Mother’s Day dinner with my family💗💗. Great food with wonderful service. Everyone loved what they ordered.
We've been to Days on Front several times, and do so because it's always dependable with consistently excellent meals. The ambiance is nice, appropriately toned-down lighting and a fairly small interior (nothing to look at from outside but that doesn't matter). Pork Tenderloin, Steak-Frites and the special, Halibut, this time. All well prepared and beautifully served. A pre-dinner Prosecco, two starters, mains, two desserts, espresso, and the bill was $200. Seems a lot but for what we had, good value. One small detraction - in the four years we've gone there the menu hasn't really changed much. Which is good in one way but it would be nice to see something new for the main course (the special is often fish).
A Knockout dinner!! This restaurant feels cozy, has consistently delicious food and knowledgeable and interactive team...perfect for every occasion. Highly recommend Days on Front.
Recently moved from the GTA to Kingston and looking for new favourites. My husband and I shared the crab cakes, very generous portions, tasty. I had the chicken supreme and my husband had the steak frites, we both enjoyed our meals. Food was well cooked and presentation was lovely. We also each had a raspberry mojito - delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Will return and look forward to trying other items on the menu.
The only issue was that we felt pressed to hurry up the whole time - otherwise food and service was great! But don’t allow reservations for 8:45 if your kitchen closes at 9 and you are going to make us feel like we are being rushed and hurried out. We were getting together with old friends and so looking forward to a relaxed dinner. Don’t make us the problem - change for booking options and we won’t book that late in future. We didn’t know your kitchen closes at 9.
The food and service were exceptional...? Very good value as well
It was wonderful as always
