   Server was not friendly, steaks were okay. Collards, Mac, and Fingerlings were not good. Fries were good but cold. Grilled shrimp app was good.

   Had the pleasure of meet JD at a waterpark. Our family discussed a good steakhouse and he mentioned Deacon's. He even helped us get reservations. Service and food was great over all 10/10.

   This was our first visit and Deacon’s South did not disappoint! Atmosphere was wonderful and staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was delicious!! Would definitely dine here again in the future!

   This was our second time visiting Deacon’s - the first time was excellent, so we looked forward to this visit as part of anniversary night out ahead of a broadway show at TPAC. Unfortunately, this time did not live up to our expectations after our first visit. Our experience started out well - friendly, attentive service, drinks, and an appetizer (cheddar biscuits were very good, though far too big as an app). The leafy green salad was also excellent. But our main entrees were disappointing. My wife and I both ordered 6 oz filets cooked medium. We cut into them after they were delivered to check doneness - both looked appropriately pink in the middle, so we said they looked great. But, as we got into them more, it was clear they were far more towards the medium well level around the edges and very dry. At this point, it was too late for us to send things back - we had a show to get to, so we made do. Additionally, our server did not stop at our table hardly at all after this point - even though she was stopping at all tables around us frequently. It was hard to get her attention to simply order another drink (we finally did, but it did not arrive until desert). Speaking of desert…the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream was just ok - also very dry. I’m honestly not sure if we’ll make an effort to visit again - need to think about this some more. But with multiple other great options in the area, I’m just not sure. For the price, we know we can get great food and service at other restaurants.

    Gorgeous wood and glass venue. Many of the ladies, in our group, tried the Whiskey Flights and enjoyed them. The cheddar biscuits were divine and came with a tasty apple butter. Can't say anything was bad here. We also ordered the cornbread, which came out in a hot, baby skillet and fried green tomatoes. 4 of us split 2 of the rib eye steaks with truffle butter, trumpet mushrooms and they were so tender and had wonderful flavor. One had the filet and she was very satisfied. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend.

    May have been the best meal and service I've had since the last time we ate at Deacon's. The entire staff did a great job, especially Jared; he was friendly, timely, and made great suggestions for our meal and drinks. You would get six stars if it were an option!

    Food was good. We ordered the biscuits and pimento from app list. Biscuits were a little dry, and huge. Not really what we were expecting. Ordered the grilled shrimp with come back sauce. Good!

    Matt is OUR server when we go. He is the best. Always gets it right and is a pleasure to converse with but knows when to leave us to the drinks and food. The Whiskey ribeye is enough for 3 and the sides are as well unless you are overindulgent. Burrata is amazing. I love mashed potatoes so I would recommend that one for two people not three. Wine selection is nice and the espresso martini is my fave to start with while the Cab breathes.

    Lucked out on visiting on a quieter weekend, enjoyed downtown without a super crowd. The restaurant was busy but not packed. Fried green tomatoes are excellent. Service was excellent. A bit disappointed that my steak was a bit charred but rest of food was good.

    A lot of the food wasn’t very good and we tried a wide variety of options. The steaks were heavily salted. The fried green tomatoes were half an inch thick and not cooked very well. Our server was great though.

    Seven of us went, six ordered different steaks. Of the six, three were overcooked. One had been ordered well done Was hard to screw that one up. I was greatly disappointed. I am in Nashville monthly for business and will not be back.

    Everything about our dinner from entering Deacon's to leaving was as you would hope and dare expect from fine-dining. Our server was friendly, energetic, and very helpful, asking if we had plans for after dinner (we did) and insuring that we had plenty of time. She even gave us directions to Nissan Stadium where we were going next. My two starters were served in perfect order and my husband's outstanding steak was prepared exactly as he asked. Particularly notable was the fact that the person who served the steak had my husband cut into it before they left the table so that if there was any problem, it could be taken care of immediately. Deacon's is our new favorite restaurant in Nashville.

    Good service. Good appetizers in the New Orleans barbecue shrimp and prawns on ice. Steaks where very underwhelming; cooked incorrectly and inconsistently. My Kansas City, bone- in strip and my brother’s bone-in ribeye were both 1/3rd or more pure fat on one end. Not what you expect for an $80 steak. We will not return.

    They would not honor my reservation for one even though they had about 40% of their tables available. They told me I had to go to the bar though I had reserved a table, but there were no spots open at the bar. I confirmed that they had received my reservation but they still would not honor it. It was fairly disappointing and embarrassing.

    This was our first visit. I would describe the decor as upscale hip, with its exposed ceiling and some cement. While creating a cool vibe, this made the environment a bit noisier than I would have liked. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They all seemed proud where they work. They were knowledgable and attentive. The cocktails were tasty. The food was delicious and interesting. It was quite expensive compared to what we usually spend on a night out. Our total for 2 with tip was $200. I had the fresh catch, my wife had a shrimp appetizer as her meal, we had 3 cocktails between us, and shared a desert (which was fantastic!) I would definitely go back, but probably only on very special occasions.
