    We reserved a spot for afternoon tea. We were seated promptly and then had to wait a while for service. Unfortunately no blooming tea was offered and there were no descriptions of the teas for us to read. The server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the teas offered either. The food was served promptly and it was beautiful and delicious. The scones were very large and seemed unnecessary with all the rest of the food options. The only food flaw was that the egg salad sandwiches were very salty and the marshmallows were a bit soggy. The croquettes were amazing and the other savory bites were our favourite. The service was not great, especially for the Deane House. Our server wasn’t prepared to take our order but we had waited for an initial greeting for at least 15 minutes so we were ready to order when she arrived. She didn’t serve us the food, or clear our plates, or bring the bill, or come back to us to pay the bill. She did refill our hot water, though, but failed to put the lids back on teapots. A detail, but still… a bit odd. Overall, it was fun experience but we’ve had tea in London and at the Empress Hotel and the Dean House version needs some work.

    Lovely setup for our group of 9. The food and drink were delicious, though the starters were quite small and hard to share between more than 2 people.

    We try to save our pennies to celebrate special moments at the Deane House every year or two. We have never been disappointed! Most recently, we enjoyed the afternoon tea. The bites were all absolutely delicious, although the scone and clotted cream deserve a special mention. The culinary team obviously takes a great deal of pride in presentation as well. Service from Tyler was wonderful. Thank you to all of the team :)

    Lovely experience at the Deane House, such a great vibe and kind service. The tea was good, desserts weren’t my favorite but the scones were fresh and fantastic and the savory options were very good, especially the braised beef croquettes!

    I took my mom for tea on her birthday and we had such a lovely experience! Today was the first day of the holiday menu and all the items were delicious. As usual the service was excellent though we couldn’t finish all the items. Of the savory items, the trout was a standout. The sweets were all unique with some unique flavor profiles. The room wasn’t super busy but the occupied tables were all set next to each other. I would have preferred a bit more space from the other diners. I’ll be sure to ask how busy it is next time to see if we might be able to have a bit more space from our neighbors. We’d absolutely recommend the seasonal menu!

    Great ambience for a special tea, beautiful presentation and exceptional service. Tables a bit too close to other diners for my comfort level. Savoury foods delicious, the sweets OK, some strange inedible seeds on the little snowmen.

    What a delightful experience this was. The view alone is worth going! The good and service were exceptional. I highly recommend this. I would call ahead if you have accessibility considerations, as I didn’t see accessible washrooms (but they might have been not obvious).

    We were so exited to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary here, however the food was below average for a top Calgary restaurant. The amuse bush was super salty, if there was no bread it would be inedible, the endive, apple and blue cheese salad didn’t have enough apple to balance out the bitterness of the endive. The corn risotto was good. The halibut was below standard, our server was super kind and offered us our a cheese course that was a grilled cheese sandwich, we were happy to accept it, however the cheese still had it rind in it in and the beluga caviar was mushy and cooked. The next course was pork was served 3 ways, the pork belly was pure salt, we couldn’t taste any thing past it, the tenderloin was good, and the sausage was crumbly, maybe not enough milk power in it. Finally the cake came out, i believe it was a parsnip cake, it was very hard, more like a cracker. I must say the serve was perfection, professional and top notch. I would not recommend this restaurant for the food, after spending that much money and being highly disappointed with the food. But if your looking for great service maybe go for a some drinks.

    Love this restaurant. It’s so cute! Came for Afternoon tea a few weeks ago and wanted to try the brunch. It did not disappoint! The Ham Eggs Benedict and pastry trio were delicious. The server was very pleasant and professional. Will have to come back to try the dinner menu!

    The historic setting, amazing service and beautifully plated food made our family celebration all the more unique. The bison was the most popular dish with our group. The Black Forest ice cream sandwich proved to be a decadent finish to meal. We look forward to returning!

    French fries cold, hamburger raw, plates came out not concurrently but over. 5-10 minute period. The server had a terrible snotty attitude and I’d never go back. Go elsewhere

    It was our first time there and we absolutely loved it. The food was extraordinary as well as the service. I would highly recommend the Deane house anytime you want to treat yourself and others for a great time.

    My husband and I had an amazing experience at the Deane House to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! Every staff member went above and beyond to provide excellent, attentive, and personable service, and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! We went on a jazz night as well, so having live jazz music accompanying our dinner made the night especially cozy. Wonderful space and perfect for celebrating!

    The Deane House's character and staff are second to none. However, the food was surprisingly mediocre. We found the fish dishes in particular to be overcooked leaving the fish dry and tasteless. The menu is short but the wine list is quite extensive and not overly aggressively priced for this restaurant's category. We found that, because the food was so average, the Deane House is not a great value given the prices charged. That said, I would go back - everyone has an off night every now and then.

    Deane House is a beautiful restaurant with marvellous food and wonderful staff. However the noise level was beyond reasonable. We were seated at a round table for five and booked a 5pm reservation expecting it would be relatively quiet. It wasn’t. But don’t avoid Deane House. Book ahead and request one of the small rooms or a table in the northwest corner of the veranda.

    The food and service was exceptional. Tyler bent over backwards to make our dining experience worthwhile and special. So much so, we asked to see all the dining menus so we could determine our next visit.

    We always go to the Deanne house for special occasions and it never disappoints. We have been lucky enough to have Taylor as our server. She has a lovely approach and demeanour. It is just the perfect place for great food, service and atmosphere. .

    Was seated in a nice cozy corner by a window. When asked if there are any dietary restrictions I mentioned the day before when confirming our reservation, raw onions, green and white. Was asked again before the meal came, my mistake was to say I mentioned it to the lady that called yesterday. The egg salad buns had onions but they were swapped out without fuss, I think however it kept our waitress away. We waited a long time for more hot water but by the time she did come we were ready for the bill. When you make the reservation it looks like you pay for the seating but it just holds your spot. I would have preferred to have had a couple more cucumber sandwiches and a couple more scones (they were delicious) with more hot water.

    My guest and I had a misunderstanding about time of reservation, and I had to shift our seating time forward twice. Staff were very understanding about this inconvenience, and guest and I were able to enjoy a good birthday lunch when we finally got there.
