This was my first brunch experience at Deane House and it did not disappoint. The food was spectacular and the gardens were a lovely backdrop for our meal.
A wonderful place in Inglewood! so lovely to have them close to us.
Great job all around! Service, ambiance and food.
Amazing meal, awesome live music. Thank you for graciously accommodating my allergies. The whole family agreed - we will be back soon!
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. We plan to return soon!
A lovely spot with excellent food and ambience. The history and garden add greatly.
The special was like an appetizer
It would’ve been nice if we were informed
We had the taster meal. The portions were perfect and delicious. We loved that they explained how the food was prepared and the ingredients. We had the wine pairing which was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive but not hovering. We loved the decor. We were beside a large group who we found to be loud , however we so appreciate that there was no loud music. We had wonderful leisurely evening and meal. We highly recommend the Deane House.
It’s our first time at Deane House and it was such a great dining experience. The place itself is beautiful on the outside. We were in awe of the gardens. The inside is being thrown back in Victorian time. The food was great. We had the brunch menu. We started of with the baked goods. The danish is to die for. I had the buttermilk chicken with lentils, mole sauce and fried mushrooms and sweet potatoes. The chicken was properly cooked. Juicy on the inside and crispy skin. The meal was well balanced. My partner had the rainbow trout and chips. The fish was fresh. The chips were cooked correctly and well seasoned. Because it’s fish and chips, the only missing piece is a dollop of tartar sauce. The young man who served us was really nice and personable.
Always enjoy the staff and place! However menu could use an update! Probalbly won’t return till the update for brunch is new!!!
That French toast 😍😍
Lovely meal in an outstanding location.
A restaurant of that class should have available bottle water such as Evian.
Always a treat to go there! Food is consistently great and service is personal!
The wife and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary here, and we had a great time. Everything from start to finish was impeccable. The cocktails that we had were tasty and the bison tartare, monkfish, and halibut dishes were great. Service was also top notch.
On another note, we're pretty sure the Deane house is haunted. My wife had a strange run in with some paranormal activity. I'm not typically someone who believes in that sort of stuff, but now I'm stuck having to take the laundry to the basement for the time being....
Beautiful along the river looking west at the end of the day. Sunday was a special event and we choose the Deane House for the menu, location and jazz on Sunday. It was a most perfect meal, setting and ambiance. service is lovely too.
The gardens are so beautiful! Already!! We went for the first time in the twenty years that I have lived here. All the stories that I had heard were true and I was thrilled beyond imagine. It was Sunday night Supper night! And being true to that family/community feel they have an agreement with the liquor store across the street for wine pairing and open corkage for the night! Sweet! Can’t say enough about the Great atmosphere, great food and the Live Local Jazz Band!!
The brunch was excellent and it was nice that the server was able to give us a sample of one of the dishes and was able to accommodate my friend’s request. A beautiful venue and I enjoyed the property and the gardens.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The entire experience was outstanding! The service, food and entire ambience was exceptional. This morning walking my dog my neighbour chatted with me and asked me how my husband’s birthday dinner went and I shared the experience with her. She has never heard of the restaurant but will be making a reservation in the near future.
Staff were great. Very knowledgable. Food excellent
Absolutely fabulous from the moment we arrived. Excellent ambiance, friendly service, and amazing food!
Service was unbelievably slow. We sat at least Fifteen minutes with no service and being left totally alone despite our server going to other tables. I finally had to ask her to take our drink order. Over 3.5 hours to complete our service. Mind you they had a wedding upstairs
But it was only about 9 pm that the waiter finally came by and explained they were running behind.
Food was an artistic delight and very stimulating to the tastebuds but my meal was lukewarm so it must have been sitting for awhile.
Fortunately our guests were very patient but the exceptionally slow service really warranted a heads up at booking time to advise that we may face delays due due to a function going on upstairs.
My experience was exactly what I had envisioned. My daughter loved the tea we had as a birthday surprise for her. Thank you for a memorable time.
Excellent service and a great meal !! I took my girlfriend there as I had heard great reviews about it and was not disappointed.
Food just not that great even though the location and atmosphere is nice
Love it, always love it. My family greatly enjoyed themselves! ( the live jazz is just a touch too loud for the older crowd)
Always impressed with the quality of ingredients and commitment to buying local and seasonally available ingredients. Everything made from scratch. Great food. Highly recommend.
Mother’s Day Brunch!
We enjoyed our food & the variety of items offered on the menu. The different flavours & combinations were all perfectly put together. Dinning in the Sunroom was very nice & hope to dine outside next time.
We had an amazing experience. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about everything.
We will definitely come again.
First time booking reservations for the Sunday Supper and it will not be the last. The service from start to end was friendly, knowledgeable and nicely paced. I would say they have achieved the "family" meal vibe.
We went on a Saturday for lunch, we were a bit early for our reservation, but the hostess was very accommodating. She found a quiet spot for us and got us in right away. Our waitress was quick, but not intrusive. Our food came quickly and was well prepared. To top it off, the coffe was amazing! I look forward to my next visit
Lovely as always. The eggs benny is to die for.
Not great so noisy we couldn’t hear each other speak.
Even the waitress couldn’t explain the menus we couldn’t hear her.
Then when we asked re if there was any dairy in the meal we ordered they served the meal and didn’t get back to us.
The means was interesting but a bit over the top!
I would not recommend going back.
This was the first time we visited this restaurant on a Sunday night . Two people shared the chicken for two which was very good. The price fixe dish offered that evening was three courses for $42.00. It was odd the ‘appetizer’ was served on a dish with the entree. This meant while two people had their salad, the third person had nothing until the entree arrived. This made for a large and rather convoluted dish that was marginal at best (porchetta).
The desserts were good. The ‘small dessert’ ordered by one person was a single chocolate; certainly a little more effort could have been made here. Service was charming and attentive.
Great that the restaurant offers free corkage on Sunday
absolutely delicious. service was excellent
We had THE most delightful brunch on Sunday in a very pretty private room with a round table. The 5 of us enjoyed everything immensely. Lovely oysters with 2 delicious sauces ! Service was impeccable and welcoming. Every selection was delectable. We are returning on the weekend of May 10th when my son and his girlfriend graduate from U of C’s Med school. So looking forward to our next visit. Lucky us ! Thank you for a superb experience !
We were so excited to try the Deane house, we had heard so many great things. So we decided to book for Easter Sunday. It was very lively and we fell in love with the sun room. It was however very noisy as we were very close to our neighbours and found it hard to have conversation. Our server was lovely but very busy. Being pregnant I ordered the grass finished beef, and asked if it was well warmed through if needing to be on the rarer side. Otherwise medium would have been fine if that's what they reccomend. It came out really well done and quite overcooked. My partners boar was more cooked then medium also. Our server was lovely and noticed but I didn't want to fuss. Unfortunately for $50 I couldn't finish the steak as it was too dry. The server offered a free dessert but we did not feel up to it. She took one of our starters off the bill "the candied beets" (worth every cent).
We were quite disappointed in our visit to the Deane house, due to this. We were so excited to love our experience there so it's very unfortunate.
Most things on the menu do not appeal to young people. Perhaps the ingredients in the dishes are too creative.
