   We were there during YYC Food & Drink Experience and ordered the Prix Fixe menu. Beautifully done. Service was impeccable and thoughtful. Love the Deane House !

   Our visit was phenomenal. My wife dinned on the Calgary Food experience Pre-Fix menu, and I had regular menu items. They were all superbly done and creatively served. The pork loin's buckwheat gremolata was an interesting take on the 'garnish' with Albertan ingredients. The anise in the sauce was very, very mild but present and complemented the dish. The bison short rib was delicious, and its accompaniments complemented it wonderfully. The drunk prunes in the whiskey chocolate flourless cake were a comforting throwback to how my grandma used to make german drunk plum cakes (with Brandi). It is a desert we both agree we will seriously consider returning to, even on its own, time and time more. To top it all, the service was impeccable, the scenery beautiful, and the atmosphere romantic. It is a great place for special occasions with the right social company. We will return.

   I ordered the roasted sablefish which was very good but it should have come with some kind of rice pilaf or other accompanyment...the fish by itself was not enough for the price paid for it.

   I've only tasted bison in a burgher so the bison brisket was a new taste experience. It's a very dense meat with very little fat so the butternut squash & blueberry sauce was just perfect with the brisket. The chocolate pot de creme was so delicious I had to exercise extreme control not to order a second one! Bonus, it was gluten free and dairy free. We sat out on the enclosed deck and found it fairly noisy. There is nothing in the room to absorb the sound.

    Our table of four had the chef's tasting menu. The dishes on the menu were all delicious. One of the people in our group has celiac disease but the kitchen was able to make good substitutions so he had essentially the same items as the rest of us. Our server was attentive, the space is attractive and the food was great. We would definitely go again.

    Loved the high tea! Lots of gluten but I think they can accommodate if you ask as they ask for any allergy. Great choices of tea or herbal tea. Overall a great experience. Tora our server was great! I will be back for tea!

    We were bringing out of town visitors and there was a flight delay that made us late. The staff at the Deane house were fabulous, made a big fuss of our travel-weary guests and led us to a very special table. Our server regaled us with stories about the Deane House and various items on the menu. The meal that followed was outstandingly delicious and the whole occasion will be a stellar memory for us all.

    Wonderful staff, and beautiful atmosphere. One lady took several photos of our family for us which was so kind. And our server was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. The food was also AMAZING. Highly recommend !

    A lovely get together for Brunch with the family. The food was great. There 8 of us multi generational. There were two children and Six adults. We had an amazing table in the upstairs room.

    Tried their high tea and it was delicious. The sandwiches and the pastries were divine. A definite must-try. The flower earl grey is very light so if you like a rich bergamot flavour in your earl grey, I don’t recommend their earl grey. Unfortunately they were out of the masala chai so we didn’t get a chance to try it :( that was disappointing.

    First time back to the Deanne House since Covid for a farewell brunch for a friend leaving Calgary and Alberta. I had the pyrogy dish and it was fabulous. It was twice the amount that I needed, but each bite drove me on to the finish. AwesomeCherry Mimosa. No room for dessert. From the moment entering to the moment leaving the service was excellent. Our wait staffer was wonderful. Found out the Deane house had been moved across the Elbow to its current location. Never knew that. My friend was suitably impressed.

    Lunch at the Dean house was a mixed event The server Gigi was lovely. The sunny corner and great view was wonderful. However there was a mixup in our order and while we accepted the substitute offer we found it to be a small serving and really string and tough braised beef. Being with my granddaughter for lunch while she is home from Queens is a joy for me

    We came for brunch and the YYC hot chocolate. Both were excellent. The hot chocolate was the best one we’ve had at the festival in three years!!

    It was our Valentine’s dinner. We ordered the red lentil humus that was delicious. It came with lovely crackers and carrots. Not crudités, carrots. (16$) I ordered the roasted beets salad, panacota. It was good but I could have done without the panacota that has a different texture not that pleasant. My husband wanted the trout but it is farmed from Camrose??? , Alberta. We dont eat farmed so he ordered the wild cod instead. While this dish was a hit in 2019, it was not for us. Blend all the way, from the colour to the taste. For 48$!! Disappointing. To their credit they offered to replaced it but as we wanted to eat at the same time, we said no. The last time I had the sable fish that was very undercooked and we ate our plates at different time. Not nice at all! I ordered the tartare. It was not only blend but also mushy. Probably the worst I had. Very little mustard, and garlic. No capers. Overly salty chips. While this restaurant has a great service, an amazing decor, the food is no longer great. But… a glass of rosé and the humus on the terrasse this summer would still be great! I havent tried the high tea or the brunch. Maybe it would be better?

    Food and service was really good. However, the pop and water charges were frustrating and since you can get the similar food quality and similar service at other nice restaurants at a lower overall cost. This is only place we have been to in years that still charges you for pop refills?(small glass full of ice and very little pop). They also charge for still/flat water that they fill as you are seated (it’s not like they fill and then leave a bottle of Perrier on the table)?? These 2 charges for drinks really bothered us, it’s not like it’s an inexpensive menu, so….. Because of this cash grab, we would most likely not return.
