On 23 April 2017 I was a guest at my friends' wedding at The Deckhouse. I was also making a video for them as a wedding gift. The staff assumed that I was a service provider of some sort. I ended up looking for a cafe on my home that night. The things that the staff said to me are inappropriate for an Opentable review. If standard levels of decency are part of your criteria, I do NOT recommend The Deckhouse to anyone.

What a find! This is now our favourite family breakfast spot for hungry teens. The view is divine and we adored the people watching. Terrific breakfast - hugely satisfying. Thanks for looking after us so well. ❤️👍

Love love love this place. I didn't expect the portion to be just right. Food quality as in taste and appearance is amazing. My children had a great time, they even received colouring pack which delights them to no end. View is amazing and to be honest I'll definitely come back.

I planned a surprise birthday party and I could not be more impressed with the service. Everyone I spoke to was incredible and nothing was too much trouble. They were accomodating for the three children we had. Fantastic expertise. Warren (our waiter) was incredible.

Deckhouse made my fiftieth birthday brunch with four friends and couldn't have had better service. I requested a table by the window and got it and the waiter was a lovely man who couldn't have done more to make our morning special

Took my reservation a few days before Easter Sunday which was great.Al a carte menu available suited me, rather than set menu.Tasty food - crab,tiger prawns & the pasta. However, table too small for all dishes and 4 people.Appeared understaffed on a busy day.

We were celebrating my husbands birthday. The service and quality of food as well as the many choices available, made this the perfect venue. To top it off they even brought out a little cake with a candle for my husband even though he did not order dessert.

Very noisy dragging tables into position at 12 noon. Long wait for orders to be taken and bill given. Lamb shoulder very fatty. Barramundi good. Entrees good. Wine overpriced e.g. $55.00 for Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon when Vintage Cellars are currently advertising it for $19.99. Good hot coffee. Very friendly staff. Great views.

We couldn't get a booking until 1.30 although restaurant only 1/3 full Service second rate. Waitress didn't know Fish of The Day and had no clue about wine. She was very busy chatting to the next tableShe put the screw cap on our wine and another waitress came and took it off and said 'we don't allow that'!! Food plated up not as on menu prawns with avocado salad came as a mousse. Staff were so busy crashing cutlery and plates after wash up we had to get up to order dessert and coffee

We celebrated a Wedding Anniversary at The Deckhouse on 18 February...very nice food, beautiful day, wonderful views, what more could one want!! We'll be back!

This restaurant is right on the harbour, with view from the deck and some tables to the city and Harbour bridge. It is tucked away i a quiet area, near working boat sheds and yacht builders. The food is fairly casual, modern Australian, with a fair amount of seafood and vegetarian options. A nice wine list, some interesting options, and plenty of reasonably priced choices.A good place for a long lunch.

HiThe position is obivously gorgeous but the service is terrible (very very slow, totally inexperienced). The food was average for the price. Both people on our table who had the gnocchi thought it was terrible -very heavy.The mezze plate had no haloumi as per the menu and the salmon had no asparagus per the menu.I organise a big group but would probably choose somewhere with better food next time. Thanks

Have been to Deckhouse before but this breakfast visit very disappointing One pancake for kids meal is not enough We ordered sides and asked where they were they were on our plates and not side plated Never seen this before No choice given for size of juice when other tables have larger cups Chorizo was not cooked Service was average An overall disappointment and not likely to return any time soon

The table arrangement does not take full advantage of the harbour views. The dividing wall needs to be removed to allow all patrons to have a view of the harbour. The food is somewhat over priced.Service from the kitchen was tardy and meals where brought out with meals missing.

We had a nice seat adjacent to the outside verandah but inside the restaurant as it was a bit windy outside and the service was excellent. The view was magic with clear blue skies and activity on the water. The meal was small but adequate and good value.Parking can be a problem on such days as new years eve but the management allowed patrons access to the deck top adjacent to the restaurant.
