Every dish is prepared to highlight freshness and flavour - tartness from pomegranate, dried lime and barberries, fresh herbs, nuts and seeds, yogurt and aromas of saffron, turmeric, rose, and sumac.     We were surprised by the roasted cauliflower appetizer! The yogurt and tahini added a creamy, mild flavour and it went really well with the crispy saffron rice. Our main dishes (plum + saffron mushroom stew and Beef ghalieh) were astonishing as well, and the price is very reasonable for the quality and type of dishes served. If someone is sensitive to the scent of seafood, they might want to avoid the plum stew since the aroma of some mushrooms may be "fishy." We also liked the small dessert we got when we ordered the bill. Overall, the service and food was great and 100% worth the money.

    Almost all of the entree dishes were too sour. 2/10 for flavour due to over use of pomegranate molasses. Someone needs to try the dishes before it leaves expo.

    great persian food..the flatbread and dips are outstanding..so good and so tasty. We had hoped to have dessert but after overdoing the bread and dips we just didn't have room. They looked delicious.

    We are going to Delara , for birthdays celebration,friends gathering,because of the quality and their food presentation, for their friendly and welcoming people who work there. The best place to introduce the best way of Persian culture via the food to anyone who is interested in our culture. I would love to thank all the people who worked from the bottom of their hearts to make it this place always feels like home.

    The food was delicious, the background music unobtrusive so that conversation was uninterrupted, the server knowledgeable and options for people with dietary restrictions paid attention to. It is pricy, but worth it.

    We went for dinner and the food was delicious with very unique flavoring. Some excellant tastung non alcholic drinks offered. Staff were knowledgeable and cheerful We were visiting from Ontario and we definitely will be returning for lunch before we leave

    Good food. Could have way more vegetarian options, if you’re veggie there was maybe two options. Service could be cleaner and more efficient. Otherwise great spot and would return if they offered more vegetarian options.

    I’ve been to DELARA 4 times now and is it possible for a restaurant to just keep getting better with every visit? Whatever I order, I make sure to include a side salad. Why? Because they make it with a Burberry dressing that is like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Very exotic and unique! We had the lamb shoulder sandwiches with melt in your mouth lamb that was seasoned beautifully. Another in the party had the smoked rice and lentil dish, which is very earthy tasting, and the ultimate comfort food. All

    Sadly it's the case where my dish was so bland and it needed more taste. I asked for sauce but they had no sauce and what sauce they did have they would have charged me for it. I miss the days where restaurants cared

    Friendly service on both visits. Met the owner who talked about his philosophy for freshness, flavours and value. Tried every single main dish— all good but halibut stands out. Small tight menu. Good choice of alcohol-free drinks. I found wine list confusing with not enough information on origins of each wine. Will definitely be a go-to for this cuisine.

    Excellent service from Aki. The table got a bit crowded with the number of dishes we ordered. Would gladly introduce other friends to this restaurant, esp the duck in pomegranate sauce.

    The food was amazing. We had the marinaded smoked olives, roasted cauliflower, beef stew, and baklava. Oh and the Persian Godfather cocktail. Everything was excellent. Service was good.

    The food was outstanding. Beautiful flavours, fresh ingredients and very satisfying. The sharbats were lovely and flavourful. Service was friendly, if a little unbalanced (some confusion with one of our dishes and it came late, multiple servers coming to us to ask the same thing). Overall, however, a very enjoyable experience.

    The food was overall good. The flatbread and deeps were our favorite part of the meal. Service was attentive and kind. We would probably prefer other restaurants on future visits to Vancouver, but we are still happy we got to try Delara.

    2nd time at Delara & it was outstanding again ! Brought friends who live nearby & had never been & they thoroughly enjoyed. Had the same waiter from our first time last summer & ordered the same Averil Creek rose’ & I commented on how different it is from a regular rose’ & he actually remembered me ! Can’t wait to come again on our next holiday in Kitsalano. Would highly recommend this restaurant. 👍

    We had an incredible meal there. Really loved it! We each ordered a different entree (4 of us) so that we could have a sample of everything, and it was all so good! From the delicate flavours in the halibut to the bolder lamb shank, everything was so good! And for dessert the baklava and the orange cake were both amazing too! (We only had enough room to share a couple of desserts at the end, but I'm sure the others are great too.)

    The chicken and mushroom eggplant stew were great dishes; the mains come with rice on the side. Portions were generous. The Persian Godfather was a well-balanced cocktail. The service was excellent, with a great atmosphere and open concept for the restaurant. I would recommend trying Delara.

    Simple but lovely space with high ceilings. But I would have enjoyed the experience better if they had a/c. Vancouver is having a heat wave & the space was a bit too warm for me. Server was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu & made excellent recommendations. We had the halibut and the lamb and both were incredible. Entrees came with bulgur and rice, cauliflower pickles and yogurt. It was a flavour explosion! So many layers of flavour in each dish. We ended with the chocolate & halva cake with earl grey ice cream and the orange cake with rose petals & pistachio and once again, both were excellent! I think the orange cake would be even better with a scoop of ice cream and commented that to the server & she suggested I pair it with their saffron ice cream which is also on the menu. Highly recommend.
