Was curious with Covid raging why everyone was seating in the same section of the dining room.
Food was great,
Really enjoyed our dinner. Looking forward to next time!
Ate there prior but seems things have changed;Got rid of table bread, got rid of make your pizza. We ordered 2 cookies at 10 dollars each and they gave me a spoon but I had to use a knife like a pick ax to break up the crunchy stuff cookie.
It was New Years Eve with Covid. The staff were fully masked. It took quite a while to have someone come to our table but I would say it improved as the night went on. The fixed-price menu selection was phenomenal. The food was amazing. We come to Dels often because they do a very good job on satisfying the even most discerning pallet.
Attended the New Years Eve dinner. It was wonderful. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was excellent. Always love going to Del’s.
Excellent food, service and experience on NYE! Thanks for adding to our amazing NYE!!
Always great food and great service. Highly recommended.
Tables were closer than we would have liked for 50% capacity. They were using all the tables on one side and none on the bar side.
I always like your restaurant. The bruchetta was a bit odd with the bread warm and the tomatoes quite cold. Would prefer them to be the same temperature.
Our dinner was delicious, out waiter did a fabulous job taking care of us! Creme brulee was what dreams are made if lol. And the espresso martini was a much better choice than regular coffee.
Can't wait to come back.
Had high hopes as a first time customer and was completely let down with the experience. Before I get into why I will mention that the staff were wonderful, no issues with them at all, with that being said let me get into it.
1) The first thing that went sideways was the drinks, i myself only got an icetea so i cant complain but my partner got one of the fancy alcoholic drinks and not only did it come in the smallest glass I have ever seen she said it tasted like cough syrup.
2)The app we got ( i cant recall the name) was a cheese and bread app the knife provided was not suited to cut through anything let alone cheese so that was a mission. It was also not hot and just looked off putting for the presentation.
3) My main course was the veal Parm and sadly it was very bland and not hot at all. The meat was very very dark and it was smoother in the sauce and overall was not good.
My girl got a pasta and had the same issue it was not hot at all and very bland.
They were aware it was an anniversary dinner and we were offered no small dessert or anything like they usually do for birthdays or occasions
Overall was a real let down
Under Covid , things aren’t normal but they made it as close as possible. Enjoyed it !
We love Dels and will certainly be back. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Excellent food. A wonderful plant based menu. Very refreshing to be able to go to a more upscale restaurant with plant based options!
I HIGHLY recommend Del's . Food, value and atmosphere are all second to none.
Enjoyable American style Italian food in a larger busy space with an open kitchen.
Meal was great but took more than 30 minutes and having to ask for a manager only to find out that the kitchen staff ‘could not execute’ the dessert we ordered - couldn’t make it at all so we did without.
Edit: was back for another visit @ Dels. The manager offered us a complementary dessert of what they could not previously make and it was very much appreciated. Nice follow through on customer service!
Absolutely loved this place! I'm new to the area and was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday. The food was incredible, ambiance was lovely, and the service was quick and friendly. They also gave me a little piece of cake for my birthday. I will definitely be back!
I have been here twice now, I am celiac and have tried both the gluten free pizza and the gluten free penne and loved both immensely. The service is amazing as is the food, and loved both experiences I had there. Would highly recommend!
We were not impressed with some aspects of our experience at Dels. My husband's Chicken Parmesan was poor. He said the breaded chicken was tough, dry and seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. It was placed on a mound of spaghetti with very little sauce (husband asked that the cream sauce be replaced with a tomato based sauce) Presentation not impressive. He left behind half of it.
My dinner of Sausage and Pepper Cassarecce was well- seasoned and nicely hot but again not enough coating on the pasta.
The Butternut Ravioli was very good as was the caesar salad.
The mini loaf of hot bread presented in a clay baker with flavoured butter was excellent.
We ordered one dessert: Mango Gelato which tasted more like pureed mango. Three flavours of gelato were promoted on a blackboard propped up near the bar area although the menu did not show it as a dessert choice. It was served in a cheap little plastic bowl with a spoon stuck in it. For a restaurant that uses cloth napkins, has candles on tables and fresh baked bread, this seemed really tacky. Even greasy spoons will use china for their desserts. We brought these misses to the attention of our waiter who was understanding. He did not charge for the gelato but nothing was suggested for the bad chicken meal. Also worth noting is the pizza ovens were broken down that night.
On a positive note, the service was timely and the atmosphere nice.
One last comment... the parking spot we used, one of two near the Morgan St entrance, has a bush right beside it with branches that have grown into the parking space. It needs to be trimmed before someone getting out of their car has an eye poked out.
Our critical point was a 20 minute pause, after finishing our mains, and not seeing our server, David D, who was missing in action. When he did arrive, he did apologize by saying he was very busy with other guests and had a number of tables to settle up with at the same time. This was far below the standards we have come to expect from the Charcoal Group.
This was my first time here for my birthday. The mozzarella ball appetizer was fantastic. I ordered the NY striploin as my main which was okay. I was not a fan of the Parmesan truffle polenta. It didn’t come with cauliflower or Brussel sprouts instead, just mushrooms and I believe spinach. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatball which he enjoyed. The tiramisu was dry which was disappointing. The service was great though! I will definitely come back though to try their pizza and pasta which I should have ordered in the first place.
Amazing service. The food was incredible and the venue is very romantic.
Our second time here in 2 months - impeccable service and incredible food! Love the flower pot bread, too!
Enjoyed getting out with firmer coworkers on a rainy day.
Arancini was delicious. Tetrazzini and Butternut squash ravioli both amazing. Flowerpot bread was so light and fluffy, paired very well with the garlic butter and cinnamon butter. Best creme brulee I've ever had!
nothing special about the pasta that I ate. Seemed equivalent to less pricey restaurant
It was excellent! The butternut squash ravioli was wonderful! Went for my partners birthday. Great experience, wonderful service, tasty food.
We had such a great time.
Nonna's salad was packed with excellent quality ingredients and the serving size was quite large.
The gnocchi and butternut squash ravioli were incredible!
And the wine was perfect.
Absolutely a 10/10 experience!
Great service. Meal was exceptional
Overall food was good/ok. Apps, Caesar and aranchi balls were amazing. Main pasta courses were ok, I had the Stella fettuccine while my daughter had the chicken parm. Chicken parm was a little over cooked and sauce had softened the breading making it mushy. Recommend pick something else.
Everyone was very friendly and they adapted to our very tight timeline.
The food was excellent as well!!
Had the NY strip loin. The steak was great but the veggies (Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mushrooms) were terrible. It seemed like the Brussels sprouts were past their expiry. My wife’s dish was one of the pizzas and she really enjoyed it.
what a wonderful dining experience! The service, food and ambience were fabulous. We have already booked another date for this restaurant and intend to take clients/friends to enjoy the experience as much as we did.
Food: as always, the flower pot bread and flavoured butter was a hit. My friend and I shared the shrimp and sausage skillet - delicious, the shrimp was cooked perfectly.
I ordered the tetrazzini and it had a variety of different noodles, (oversized macaroni and long noodles) which was kind of strange, but the flavour was great and I added chicken, which was very tender and moist.
I ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, it was delectable (strangely served with just a fork, not a spoon, which made it difficult to eat, but not a huge deal)
Service: our server was lovely. She was reasonably attentive, without interrupting too frequently. She got everything we ordered accurate. My only real complaint was the timing of everything. We ordered our appetizer and drinks first and waited to order our meal after she brought us our drinks (wine and a cocktail). We had our appetizer for less than 5 minutes when our meals showed up.
One of my biggest pet peeves about dining out is feeling rushed and having my meal show up while I’m eating my appetizer. Then I had to choose which part of my meal that I was going to let get cold while I ate the other - kind of annoying.
Overall, it was a decent experience, but please please don’t bring out entrées while people are still enjoying the appetizer - it defeats the purpose. I expect this from cheaper chain restaurants, but not from an establishment that considers itself a bit finer.
We always enjoy dels and love the ambiance. We would go back again and take friends and family there because we love the vibe so much.
Perhaps an opportunity for the kitchen- I found there was a lot of fried peppers with the calamari and think the dish for the price should have more calamari.
Always enjoy Del’s. The food is top notch, everything came at the perfect time, server was friendly, drinks were great. Highly recommend.
Server was definitely new but was quite friendly. Spinach dip was not the best and the pita was way too doughy, preferably wanted them toasted.
Ravioli was not hot and not enough sauce. Love the place but for the amount of money, food wasn’t worth it at all.
Second time attending Dels. First time knocked it out of the park for us in terms of everything that's why I wanted to come back. Couple issues on the second visit.
1) The waitress that was serving our table was great along with I think the manager. They both worked very hard. However, it seems like our waitress was making drinks for the entire restaurant which caused a delay early in our visit. Not a big deal really but on our first visit the same issue happened so there might be some delegation issues.
2) My chicken parm was cold, the first time I was there it was amazing likely the best I have had in KW. Little disappointing.
3) Maybe consider ditching the birthday brownie, it was rock hard and not good. I am not sure of the profit margins but a very small bowl of gelato with a candle in might be a much better touch and generate some lasting juice that people will remember after their meal.
All in all I still would reccomend Dels to people and will be going back, just my thoughts.
