Doc Magilligan's Restaurant & Irish Pub
Good food! Great ambiance! Good value for great comfort food! A definite spot to go if you are in Niagara Falls!
Overall a pretty disappointing experience
We have now gone to Doc Magilligan's twice, both for birthday celebrations. The food and service have both been fabulous and the decor is quite authentic. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was relaxed enough that my 4 year old grandson could chat away and fit right in with the overall atmosphere. I would recommend this at a meeting ground for groups/friends anytime and I will definitely return.
We only had an hour before we saw a movie at Niagara Square cinemas and our server was excellent. We had our food and drinks in twenty minutes. The food is very good and the beer is great!
Overall my date and I were quite pleased. The food was great with great service. My only complaint and downside is that I made a reservation a week ahead of time and when we got there the table we requested was unavailable due to be people being there 4 hours ahead. I was very disappointed with this. I expected the table to be ready. It was Valentines day and asked for a quiet table for 2. Instead my date and I were put into the bar side where it was noisy and loud. I think the restaurant should have better scheduling for reserved tables for people who make the reservations. If not whats the point in making one. I thinks they could of taken a bit off the price for the meal or given a coupon toward my next visit. I really like this restaurant but they for dropped the ball on this one and my romantic dinner for my date was a bust.
Nice pub with a nice menu, food was good customer service could use a bit of an improvement, but was not a deal breaker, we will be back.
We had a great dinner for Valentines Day,, steak was perfectly cooked, service was great, we’ve come to Doc’s a couple times now and we recommend it to others. We don’t live in the area so it’s always a treat when we visit Niagara to come to Doc’s
First time there and found everything delicious and got quick and friendly service!!
Was not impressed at all. Had to wait approx 10 min just for silverware, had to ask 3 times for gravy, food was not hot
Will not be returning
Dinner good..we brought friends who are Irish ☘️
Perfect authentic PUB atmosphere! Loved the decor!
Soup great, dinner great, beer choices fantastic..
Nachos needed more cheese...
Our waitress Monique was absolutely lovely, fantastic and knowledgeable...
Monique needs a few golden stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ she was wonderful...❤️
She was going to take our appetizer of nachos back but dinner was on way out...
She was helpful as we were going to do a takeaway meal home too...which she made happen...
Stayed and listened to the House band..excellent...
Would definitely go back...our Irish Pub here in Niagara Falls...we live here!
(One thing...yucky cigarette butts out front...please put in an ashtray...)
Was there on Sunday i.e. 01/07, it was quite and not crowdy. I ordered fish and chips which I normally don’t order at a place I don’t know about, however I did and it was good, nothing to complaint about. I will happily go there again.
The Irish plate was good. The shepherds pie, curry and beef pot pie were good, fish was a good size as were the chicken wings. However, we came with friends and our friends husbands meal was lost and did not come until after we had all eaten. Then his Bangers and Mash was poor (sausage's were awful, soft/gooey like, he told waitress), all fries were overcooked and very cardboard like in texture.
The waitress after letting us know the meal had been missed was distant and did not come back to the table as much as before. Another waitress seemed to take over our table and was much better personality wise. My friends meal was then delivered by one of the kitchen staff. The meal was taken off the bill but we were far from impressed with the service and quality. And to end the day the dessert my friend wanted was not in stock (bread pudding).
Being from England it sure didn't size up to the pubs of home which is why we came, as your ad seemed inviting. I said I would recommend but I am on the fence on this at this time.
The food (Lobster Mac and Cheese, Fisherman's Pie) was delicious. We would order those dishes any time, but they were perfect for a cold and snowy evening. The service was also excellent: friendly, polite, and efficient. We're looking forward to going to Doc Magilligan's again and trying other dishes.
Good pub food but entrees are pricey. Nice selection of beer and a casual upbeat pub. Recommend the Reuben bites.
Great food and great service. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be going back
Had a wonderful time, food, staff and atmosphere eere exceptional. We were here for our anniversary and would definitely come back again!
Love this place, good energy, always good food and great beer. Fantastic entertainment , always a good crowd in there.
It was all excellent! Food, ambiance and drinks were great. Will definitely be going again.
Wow, we were so impressed! Wished we lived closer, but we will be back!! All 3 of us loved our different dishes. There was so much on the menu I wanted to try!
Was there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful and the cheesecake in honour of the birthday boy was fantastic. Overall our food and experience was excellent and my son's menu option was " phenomenal" A fabulous spot in the Falls. We will be back for sure!
Great atmosphere. Very nice server. The food overall is very good, except the meat loaf is bland and a bit dry. Still worth the drive, and there are many things on the menu we want to try. Recommended.
Matt the server was spectacular. Restaurant ambiance was excellent. Food was very good. Extremely enjoyable experience
My husband liked his roast beef dinner very much. My roast chicken however was very dry. The ambiance of the place is nice, that’s about it.
We loved the pub. The food, drink and atmosphere were awesome. This is truly a great example of an Irish pub
Great food, great atmosphere, great value. A fun happening place.
Not the best Irish restaurant I've ever been to but everyone enjoyed their food. The place looks great inside and you wouldn't know it's attached to a hotel. I hate that we missed the live Irish music.
Awesome dining experience! We will definitely return when we visit Niagara again👍👍
very very good, nice place and food was great . I will recommend to all my friends
This was our 52nd wedding Anniversary! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the special waitress we had! She made our date a truly memorable event! She should get a raise.
Food and service was great, we even received a complimentary dessert. It was so good, sticky toffee pudding. Yum!
BLT Nachos were great, kids menu was average to poor, Beet Salad had hardly any beets. My son Loved the fish and chips.
Was OK .. Not outstanding.
We love this restaurant! The food and service are excellent and we love the Ireland theme.
Our server was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We started out by trying the Poutine. Neither of us had ever had it before and it was very tasty. I ordered the Bangers and Mashed and it was quite good. It was not the best that I have had, but it was among the better offerings. The mashed potatoes were buttery and the sausages were well seasoned but not overwhelmingly so. Beans came with the dish which seemed a bit odd; I had never had that combo before and didn't feel it necessary. My wife had the shepherd's pie and it was delicious. The meat and vegetables were tender and the sauce/gravy was savory and very enjoyable. The mashed potato "lid" was creamy with just the right amount of crust on top. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the food was good. I would recommend to other.
The food was perfect and the wiatress was particularily great and was very aware of our needs.
We went here for dinner. It was close to our hotel. Service was great; seated quickly. Food was good. I would recommend.
Excellent food and service. The beer flights were great! Loved the decor.
We visited this restaurant based on the strong reviews on OpenTable. First, the outside of the restaurant is charming and inviting; same with the interior decor. The atmosphere is excellent. We had fantastic service from a gentleman waiter. I regret that I don't recall his name.
We ordered the Reuben bites which were just "ok." They were hot, just not what I was expecting.
For dinner, my husband and I shared the Taste of Ireland meal. Quite frankly, the best part of that dish was the curry chicken. The rest was relatively flavorless and disappointing. I was thrilled that they had Smithwicks on draft. The beer was served nice and cold, and swiftly.
This place could be fantastic if they could up the flavor a bit in the food.
Food was pretty good, had the platter and the curry and shephards pie was good but the irish stew was lacking both meat and potato. One member of our group had it as his meal and was really disappointed. Live band was good and our server who was lots of fun. Good for groups, a little off the strip, about a 20 minute walk.
The service started out fantastically but once the server got another two tables, we went largely ignored. A complaint about a meal went unaddressed by the server, who also took 25 minutes to bring our bills after asked, and forgot an order of wings for more than a half hour.
The server did not look happy to be there, didn't care to offer helpful food suggestions when asked, and looked like she would rather be anywhere but working.
The food was just okay - standard stuff but it isn't authentic Irish food. Two people ordered the shepards pie and both hated it (and one was stone cold in the centre) so I would suggest not getting that!
My husband and I, my husband being from Dublin, Ireland really enjoyed dinner here. The appetizers were to die for, must try the Reuben Bites! Very nice decor, great cocktail menu, Father Ted was outstanding. Steak was cooked to perfection and served with a perfect pint of Guinness! Must see if visiting Niagara Falls.
