Dock of the Bay
We were a party of six. We appreciated being able to reserve a table online and also receive a confirmation shortly after. At the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and shown immediately to our table. We experienced an evening of fine dining, from the cocktails to the delicious choice of cuisine which was plated so elegantly and served by a friendly staff. Thank you. We will be back.
Nice lunch, all 6 of us enjoyed our choices. Excellent server. Good beers on tap. I would definitely go back.
Best dining experience ever. Food is outstanding.
My sister and I went to Dock of the Bay for her birthday. We shared the lamb, which were very tasty, beautifully presented, but pricey for the 4 very small chops (2 each) we received. The kitchen kindly split the dish for us onto 2 plates, which as very nice. The restaurant did not not provide any birthday dessert or accommodation, other than to put a small candle into the dessert we ordered to share. Window tables have a nicer view of the water / dock.
The meal at Dock is the Bay was delicious. Soup of the day - potato caraway was rich and warming. The steak slider from the appetizer menu was plenty as my main and was delicious.
Everyone in our party was more than pleased with their dinner. Highly recommend a stop here!
Found this place on Open Table and the menu intrigued us. Sooooo glad we diverted our day trip and stopped here. The food was fabulous and the service impeccable. My husband loves perch and had there perch special. They said it was from Lake Erie. We have eaten perch at many restaurants along Lake Erie but none has ever been prepared better than here. We must and will return often!
It was our first time there celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very impressed.
Great location and always fantastic food. Our favourite summer/fall restaurant.
We went for a late Sept , Saturday evening dinner....Sat on the Patio next to the Water and it was a Beautiful View ......the place is Attractive inside and out and is High End Dinning with High End Prices .
Our Waitress was excellent and Knew the Menu and Wines ....very pleasant and friendly !!!
It overall was a very Special night and a great overall experience.
Food: Kids food was good but only 2 choices (need to expand here)
- Caesar Salads were Excellent
- My wife had Gnocchi and it was quite tasty
- I had the highly recommended Duck and it was a huge disappointment !!!
- it was so small I actually thought they forgot to put the Duck on the plate.
- I had read it was a Full Half but it was actually 5 little pieces that were dry and tasteless
- this supposed "Main" was the size of an Appetizer for $36
- Wine Seletion was good but over priced
- I saw the Prime Rib and Steaks going by (this was what I was going to
order) and they looked Great !!
-could have had Candles on the tables and the outside lights down a bit for more Ambience after dark
Beautiful meal. Generous portions. Great view.
Good choice for a dinner at the Wharf in Gravenhurst. Noice level was a little higher than we expected but there were 2 large tables of diners
Excellent restaurant to celebrate our 25th anniversary at. Anna gave us great service. Food was really good (grilled calamari; seafood pasta; shrimp and scallop pasta). We were able to enjoy our dinner on the patio - Anna even brought me a blanket when it got cool. Not an inexpensive place, but good quality
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at this restaurant on a Saturday night in September. The atmosphere was lovely. We had an indoor table overlooking the water. There is a beautiful deck, for dining, but the weather was just too chilly.
Our server was polite, friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious. The pace of our meal was fine. We will definitely return.
Because of the weather we ate inside and found it rather noisy with people talking loudly. Food was delicious and our waitress was great. Can’t go wrong here
Excellent pasta, gnocci, calmari, and salad. Great attentive service
Wonderful food with great service. Bring a sweater or jacket, if you're seated outside it can be chilly.
Best waterfront restaurant in Gravenhurst. Excellent food served with ppl wanting to please. View is timeless.
I loved the Lobster Pernod with homemade noodles! Every dish was perfect, delicious and well presented and our server was attentive. I would recommend this one to anyone staying or driving through Gravenhurst! Fabulous!
Wonderful venue, good waitress and food, pricey in terms of value for money
I've been there twice this summer and the food is excellent
Enjoyable experience. Service was reasonable. The waiter was not that knowledgeable about the wines but perhaps that's to be expected. He was busy, having to leave at least twice saying that they were paging him. but he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The food was high quality but a little short on volume. I had rack of lamb, which was very good, what was there, but it was essentially two small medallions of lamb. We sat outside and there was live music, a piano player playing classical music. Very nice. I understand they mix the music up from night to night. Nice ambience. Overall I would recommend to others.
Fabulous place. Staff were amazing food was incredible. Comfortable setting We didn’t want to leave. Would go back in a second.
This is the best restaurant in town. Great view of the lake, great service and good food. The owners and their sons always make a point of greeting us and checking on us and their staff are all top drawer. We stayed for the ski show and it topped off the evening, right at sunset.
Lovely dinner out with the family. Excellent food and atmosphere, good service.
We came here because of the great reviews and the location. We were very excited as it was our first time in Muskoka and basically our last trip before we have a baby. We sat outside and it was pleasant. We ordered some apps and then I ordered the shrimp and scallops pasta, my mother in law orders the prime rib and my husband ordered the beef tenderloin. Both my MIL and husband order their meat medium. We got one of the latest reservations so when our food came we were hungry. My food and my MILs food was good and prepared properly. My husband’s beef tenderloin was cooked so incredibly overdone. When our waitress came around he showed her and she agreed and said let me get the manger. My husband ate some because it was late and he was hungry but it is one of the best and most expensive dishes and should have been prepared exactly as he ordered. The waitress then came back and said that he could wait for another one, it’s like past 10pm now, so he said no thanks. She then said the manager said we could have a free dessert or he would take half off his incorrectly cooked dish! It was really awkward having to pay for a dish that he couldn’t eat. It was also very strange that the manager sent the waitress and never came over. My husband asked to see the manager and when he came over he seemed to care less that the expensive dish was screwed up and didn’t think it was his job to come over and make it right. It was so incredibly disappointing. Also we realized the manager had just been sitting at his own table the whole time we were there and obviously wasn’t monitoring the service. We have traveled to all kinds of restaurants all over the world and never had an experience like this. We will never ever be back and will not recommend this place to anyone.
Food and service was very average! It’s expensive for the quality of the meal. Location and ambience is great!
We came here to have dinner with the kids. We had excellent meat and our waitress was outstanding.
We enjoyed it very much!
Great menu. Lovely location. If you go on a Wednesday night, you can watch the water show while dinning .
We had a wonderful fresh pasta with lobster. The pasta was very fresh and made in house!
We will be back !
A great meal at a great location.
It was wonderful.
Best Restaurant around, never had a bad meal. You won’t be disappointed while you dine overlooking Lake Muskoka.
Staff was most accommodating. Was surprise 95th birthday party. As some of the party was seated outdoors when we arrived - we sat outside.
After a while we were quite chilly so asked to be moved indoors ........... no problem - staff accommodated us.
thank you so much for memorable day. Would definitely recommend and return.
Food was excellent and our server, Alisha was top notch.
Always a good meal with a great view! Service staff is friendly and attentive.
We had a wonderful waiter, who has consistently been amazing 2 other times. Food was wonderful. Amazing ambiance and setting on the water. Provided the perfect atmosphere for our party of 6 to visit and have some great conversation over a delicious meal. Love Dock on the Bay!
Dock on the Bay in Gravenhurst is our favourite dining experience in south Muskoka.
The views from the restaurant are wonderful, the staff are very good and the food presentation is spectacular.
If you haven't tried this restaurant - give it a try and you will be back often after that
I have been to this restaurant several time over the last 10 years. Usually we come one or two times a year for that special day. We live just south of Barrie so it is generally not a long but very a pleasant and enjoyable drive (about 1.5 hours away). This restaurant has never disappointed and even surpassed our expectations. Truly a little gem. We sat outside for the first time right by the water. From nature and the turtle swimming past our table, to the server Alex J. and the towns hospitality, we could not have asked for a more perfect day. We ordered the Prime Rib. It was done to perfection, the vegetables were perfect and not overcooked. The overall presentation was a delight to the eyes - picture perfect. We began our time on the Wenonah II and finished it off at your restaurant. We did not feel rushed and with the sun setting and gentle breeze, really could we ask for more. We had a full day. Dock of the Bay, don't change a thing, it is always special to be with you and in a sense you feel like family that we are coming home too. Congratulations.
Our server was awesome, she always made sure our water was topped up and asked if we needed a top up for coffee and sprite. I cannot recall to her name, but she had orangish/reddish hair, thin build, wore back in a pony tail. Hopefully down the road I'll return and I would like to have this woman as my server again, loved her!!!! :)
The chicken added to the salad was slightly undercooked in our opinion (took it home and had it the next day after cooking it more in the microwave). But overall a good dinning experience.
Were we in the outdoor patio which was perfect for a nice summer day with a warm breeze blowing by you.
