The service, led by our attentive server Liam, was outstanding. From chair assistance to napkin fluffing, the staff went above and beyond. Liam was knowledgeable and friendly. As a chef with 13 years of experience, I approached the meal with a discerning palate. Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations, appearing over-pretentious and over-complicated. The carpaccio was overly rich, lacking acidity to balance the flavors. It could have benefited from a crostini or bread as a complementary vehicle. The duck, while well-cooked, suffered from over-spicing with cinnamon, giving it an unexpected Christmas cookie taste. The temperature was also disappointing, bordering on room temperature. The risotto, though rich and creamy, had an overwhelming saffron taste, lacking depth. The aged rice added nothing significant. The ravioli, the standout dish at 8/10, had good components but needed more sauce to prevent dryness. The lamb, cooked medium rare, seemed to have been sitting for a while, losing warmth and juiciness. The crust was overly salty, and the accompanying soy-demi sauce was overly reduced & cloy. The fondant potatoes were an interesting technique but ended up being flavorless and reminiscent of a dry hashbrown. The undercooked lobster and lackluster garnish left much to be desired. The sauce on the lobster was overly fishy, overpowering other flavors. The dessert canapé, while visually appealing with dry ice, failed to deliver exceptional flavors. The raspberry parfait stood out, but overall, it lacked the expected wow factor. While Don Alfonso impresses with its setting and service, the culinary experience, unfortunately, does not match up. The dishes, though promising on paper, fell short in execution, leaving me dumbfounded. Perhaps there has been a change in the kitchen, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend Don Alfonso for the food alone. Expectations for flavor and creativity were not met, considering the high price and reputation.

Absolutely outstanding, best restaurant I have ever been to. The food is next level the taste experience you will have is unparalleled to anywhere else. The service is always top notch. It is not budget friendly but worth every dollar you will spend. Treat yourself if you can, it truly is a swanky next level experience.

We were out for my adult son's birthday. Food was absolutely amazing and service was impeccable. We were treated like VIPs even though it was our first visit there. Staff acknowledged the birthday and were very thoughtful and went the extra mile. Wonderful food, experience and memories. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

A very special evening, which every member of the team made possible. Attention to a nut allergy at the table and the staff ensured every course had a substitute or explanation of the differences to menu. Michelin experience indeed!

Incredible food, we celebrated a birthday and were not disappointed. The tasting menu is amazing! We were treated to a private tour of the restaurant afterwards. I cannot recommend Don Alfonso enough for the great food and an unforgettable dining experience.

The dining room and views are stunning and while the food was good, it didn’t live up to the price point. The service was impeccable and they do a great job of taking care of you. I was happy with the portion sizes but when it is Michelin starred and named one of the best restaurants in Canada, you expect more than slightly above average. The tartar was very chunky and despite it being wagyu, was a bit sinewy. The pheasant ravioli was tasty. The lobster was tender but not very flavourful. While it was a good experience overall, the food was not up the standard of $140 pp. In Toronto, you can find better food for a significantly better price.

Great and memorable top-notch experience! The service is outstanding! The food is exquisite, but some dishes could taste better, especially for the price. My lobster for example was pretty tough. Overall, it's very expensive (like for two we paid almost $400), but worth experiencing at least once :)

Wanting a world class food experience - GO ELSEWHERE. The wait staff behaviour was unusual and obnoxious. The food was something that anyone taking their first class or having the first experience of nice food might find nice and palatable. There was no wow factor, no creativity, no excellence and in fact I might go as far as to say many total misses. Expected more of the Michelin label, it has actually put me off of the designation in the future. I will be finding more off the beaten path experiences as whoever has taken over designating what might earn a Michelin title has clearly failed and lost my faith in the institution. Now just a corporate money grab stifling creativity and templating 'high quality food'. What a joke.

My friend and I kicked off the holiday season with a special dinner and wow, what a perfect place to have it. The food was exquisite, the service beyond expectations and the ambience modern, cool, elegant. Can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was. Can't wait for another occasion to go back. That was the Best culinary of my life!! We had the 8 course experience. You have to do this! There is wine pairing with every course.....amazing!!! The staff introduced each course and then the wine expert would explain the pairing. You will never forget this experience!!

Great restaurant for special occasion dinners. Service and food were sublime. We had a vegetarian in our dining party which is one of the reasons we chose this place. There was a veg option for every course and therefore they were able to have a whole experience vs just having salads and sides offered.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted with friendly staff who escorted us to our table right away. Everything from the ambience to the staff to even the bathrooms were beautiful. The food was absolutely amazing. Although smaller portions, the food was soooo delicious and tasty and we were full by the end. The staff was so knowledgeable in absolutely everything. We had a such a great time and I highly recommend Don Alfonso. I’m already craving to go back again. Well done!
