   This was my second visit in 2 monthw so i decided tontey the chef's menue and it did not disappoint. It is not a cheap night out, but it is definitely an experience you must try. Service is world quality and food is absolutely incredible. Compliments to everyone who works so hard for our city to have this experience. Most notably, compliments to the Chef who we had the pleasure of meeting. He is definitely a master of his craft.

   The relocated Don Alfonso sits on top of the Westin and replaces and old restaurant - think last time I visited it, it was called Toula. The restaurant is very chic and modern, I wish we visited this place when it was at Casa Loma because the historic castle may have offered a different vibe. Service was amazing from top to bottom, and everyone we engaged with was friendly and very knowledgeable- part of fine dining is exceptional service and this restaurant did not disappoint. The amuse bouche was a great start..it was a deconstructed caprese salad that offered an intense punch of flavour. Bread service was fabulous especially with the imported olive oil that smelled like fresh cut grass. L' ANGUILLA - very interesting eel dish that my wife loved (who is a picky eater) L'ANATRA - the preparation of the duck breast was so elegant and moist...great bite I RAVIOLI and IL VESUVIO DI RIGATONI were are next plates. Hate to say it but the pasta dishes were just okay. Funny that we expected to be blown away by these dishes but were disappointed. They looked beautiful but the flavours were typical. IL CROCCANTE DI VERDURE BIOLOGICHE was selected by my wife. She doesn't eat a lot of meat so she settled for this veggie dish. When they brought out the tempura vegetables she wasn't expecting a lot but we were both so impressed with the execution and flavours of such a simple dish. Very good plate of food. IL MANZO was perfect and tender. I provided my wife a few bites and she also loved it. The portion size was larger than expected. IL BOSCO DELLE FRAGOLE was very strange as a dessert but it was tasty. I didn't like olive oil in the gelato because I thought it was too strong, but my wife loved it. They also brought out PETIT FOUR, which offered additional sweets to end the meal. In summary, great fine dining experience that left us amazed and satisfied. Value for the money is always subjected and based on your own personal opinion, but for us it was money well spent.

   Food is fantastic and the restaurant is absolutely worth the hype. The service was equally outstanding with our server being kind and patient enough to explain all the menu items and offer expert advice on plates. We also had a chance to walk through the kitchen and this is the icing on the cake. I got to see the whole team and appreciate the execution. We went for our graduation and they gave us a beautiful dessert that was written congratulations. We also got some hand written cards. I shared this with my classmates and Don Alfonso will be getting a lot of UofT dinner bookings this month because everyone loves the photos that I shared. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone’s special occasion, the whole team will cater to your occasion and make you feel special. Other nice details about this restaurant are the views and the general attention to detail e.g. luxurious bathrooms, very friendly and welcoming people to greet you at the door, a special elevator. I’ll end this review with adding that the quality of ingredients was worth the bill. I look forward to returning on my next special occasion.

   I visited with my little boy who’s got allergies/strong food sensitivities and I added a note to the reservation to inform the restaurant of the allergies. However, $800+ later, we waited for my son’s dessert to no avail. At the end of the dinner, we were informed by staff that my son could not have dessert, although included in the a la carte price. The chef did make a partial effort to accommodate my son’s main courses, but my son was crying at the end of the night because he was expecting some kind of a dessert. He had to eat some of the treats that came with the dry ice, which were allergenic to him (let’s hope for no serious side effects) , as he was crying and disappointed. We were told by the server that we needed to let the restaurant know of the food accommodations 1 week in advance, but when booking the reservation there was no information about this. Overall, the food did take too long between courses as other people have mentioned. We came for my birthday and I am extremely disappointed. We were expecting better from this restaurant. Not sure I will ever return.

   The food was excellent. Had the a la carte menu. Felt the flavours somehow needed more unique separation - More fresh flavours, crispness. Most of my artichoke was unchewable but everyone else’s was good. Waygu beef was melt in your mouth! We had eaten at Don Alfonso in Italy, which was THE BEST so perhaps unfair to compare. Felt the wine was a bit overpriced. Service from Kelly Kwan could not have been better! Great staff all round! View wonderful. Wished we’d been a bit closer to lake view. Ask for that when booking.

   We went for our anniversary. Cocktails at the bar were amazing. We sat in the lounge and chose the a la carte menu. The food was amazing and we were full by the end. We would definitely recommend Don Alfonso for a special occasion.

    An amazing first! Everything was perfect from the service to the food. Up until the very end as we were walking out. You can tell everyone who works there has a passion for what they do. This was not just a dinner, it was an experience.

    A well deserved Michelin Star experience. The Signature Tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was beautiful on the eyes and pallette. The service was what would you expect of this caliber restaurant. Ben and Kelly were the most gracious hosts.

    We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Don Alfonso and the whole evening was phenomenal. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. We were able to see the sunset over the skyline. The service was outstanding. All of the staff were so welcoming and kind. The manager sent over champagne for our table. Our waiter was fantastic, knowledgeable and funny. The food presentation was beautiful and everything tasted extremely delicious. Thank you to the wonderful staff and chefs for making it a night to remember! I look forward to returning.

    Just awesome! Every course was better than the next.....food just melted in your mouth! Really special.....Extremely yummy I must say! Only critique would be the $713 cost for two......I guess that is what awesome costs in 2023 though.

    Simply exceptional. Elegant decor. Intimate ambiance. The food was beautifully presented and equally matched by it’s unbelievable tastes.     Really appreciate the front desk modifying our reservation due to a hiccup in our conference schedule. Love the communication. The food and dining experience was world class. The view was simply like no other, for a great view of the Toronto skyline.

    Food and service worthy of the Michelin star rating. I've been to other Michelin stars in Toronto and in Europe. While the ones in Toronto were excellent this is the one that gets you closer to the paradigmatic Michelin experience that you might have in Europe. Informed and attentive staff, delicious food, fluid, seamless and unpretentious service while being fully attentive, all were present during our evening. Almost 3 hours passed by as we enjoyed delicious food and great service and feel. This is a perfect place for a special occasion.

    The set menu dinner service took way too long IMO and felt too expensive for what it was. Nice views and nice ambiance, and the staff was very friendly, just pacing and the culinary experience was below expectation for a single dinner costing over 650 with tip.

    Outstanding experience. Great service from the moment we arrived to when the cheque was presented. Attentive without ever being too much. Food was delicious. We did the three course a la carte menu. Everything I had was very special, very delicious. It was our anniversary and they were very kind, brining us some desert to mark the occasion This isn't a restaurant you go to weekly or monthly but for very special occasions or important business dinners, this will be my go to spot in Toronto

    Although the setting is incredibly beautiful, the Michelin star they received never showed up. Service was incredibly slow, many parties had their needs met promptly, while for example we had to ask repeatedly to have our wine glasses refreshed. The food was served cold on some dishes when they were supposed to be hot and one dish was inedible with the explanation that the chef served the risotto al dente. Yet, the dish was simply raw. A very disappointing evening and we will definitely tell our friends not to make the effort, especially for for being way over priced’

    I had an incredible anniversary dinner at Don Alfonso. The food was great, but the service was 10/10. The staff and restaurant went above and beyond to make our celebration special with champagne, dessert, a complimentary entree and even a small token/gift to conclude the evening. Such a lovely time!     Of course the original one in Italy is better but this was an amazing fine dining experience. Would highly recommend for a special occasion! The two steak options on the menu were absolutely delicious.
