This was our first visit. Great food and service. Will definitely go back!
OUR SERVER WAS AWESOME! i WISH I KNEW HER NAME. VERY PLEASANT ANS ATTENTIVE EVEN THOUGH HER SECTION WAS FULL.
First time to this well known place...fantastic. Food was great, atmosphere felt cool...and our server Anne was spectacular!
I've stopped here several times for lunch, dinner, and cocktails. The atmosphere is great as well as the food and service. They also make fantastic cocktails.
Food was excellent, drinks were quite good. They handled allergies exceptionally. Service was awesome!
Downtown Louie’s was an excellent choice for the occasion. Our table was right where I requested and the experience was great overall.
Wonderful appetizers. Especially enjoyed the calimari and roasted brussel sprouts.
Great food, strong drinks. Mushroom gnocchi was delicious. Stopped in before a show at the Opera House. Even though we were a little late for our reservation Amy made sure we had apps, entrees and drinks with enough time to make it to the show. She was a great attentive server! Will be back.
The only disappointment was the fish in the fish and chips...it was very fishy not appropriate for fried fish
Everything else was excellent
We were in last Thursday night before Aladdin. I was excited having ready the reviews on TripAdvisor.
The service was awful. Our waitress had no interest in being there. She even looked like she was training another waiter. I was shocked that they would pick her. Any more disinterest and she would have been rude. We asked for another minute to look at the menu before we ordered. She didn't return for 20. She never asked how our food was and it took another 20 to get our check. Thankfully the Will Call line was short at the theater or we would have been late for the show.
The food was good. My wife enjoyed the tomato bisque and Mac N Cheese. I had the Michigan salad and wild Mushroom Gnocchi. My portion was a little anemic. My wife’s was huge. We both commented that we were missing protein from the dishes. They didn’t feel complete.
Overall the experience was just okay, which for NYE is expected. Food and Service were nothing special, if anything, both below par.
Best service I have had in a long time! Our waitress was phenomenal, and it was a busy New Year's EVe. Food is good, somewhat pricey for what you get, however considering it is downtown Detroit, I can't really complain. I have been here several times and never had a meal that dissapointed. The Calamari and Gnocchi are delicious. Husband always gets the burger, which he enjoys.
We had eleven at our table and they never missed a beat. The food and service was excellent! I plan to return.
New year’s ece
Food was great. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Place was packed but with Open Table reservation , we were seated within minutes. Great place to eat!
Great food, atmosphere and perfect for pre-theater dining!
Great location and cool space inside. Owner Adrian graciously came out to see how we enjoyed ourselves. Nice cozy environment with a buzz without feeling cramped.
The staff was very courteous.
Delicious food in a cozy, wonderful atmosphere. Short walk to the Detroit Opera House.
They have really good burgers. The Mac & Cheese side dish is fantastic. Oysters on the half shell....yummy.
The Fish and Chips was OK. The Truffle Fries were soggy not crispy. If the Truffle Fries were crisp it would be a 5 not a 4
I will definitely go back and hope that they get the Truffle Fries cooked better. Overall I like this place having been here twice
Friends get together . Service was great ! Food was good, but the lemon cake was the best thing
Limited, well done, but pricey menu. I guess that is to be expected in downtown Detroit these days. Convenient to Fox, Opera house etc., for a before show meal, is how we we frequented it twice in the last month. Excellent wait staff.
Downtown Louie's has a great atmosphere. It's very nice and classy inside but not overly fancy. Food is amazing and have a great cocktail list.
High quality neighborhood restaurant. Close to downtown activities/venues
It was the perfect cozy spot to grab dinner on a cold night in Detroit. I split crispy brussel sprouts, tomato bisque, a lamb burger, and a side of macaroni and cheese. All very yummy and reasonably priced.
Great time, arrived early and was still seated. Wonderful hostess and waitress, the bottle of sparkling wine and cake was amazing! Thank you we will be back!
Yummy! Great space
Dinner before a play
Upscale bar in a great location within walking distance to Comerica, Ford Field, LCA or Campus Martius. Wonderful and lively atmosphere, excellent food and great service.
Pleasant experience the waitress was kind of dry but the service and food was good.
We love Downtown Louie’s, food is always good, service is usually good, it’s a bit loud. We go there often before dhows and concerts. We were going to see Michelle Obama and decided to eat dinner there.
Loved it! Great food and atmosphere
Very good food and quick and fast service. Went prior to going to Wings game and were in and out in less than an hour with a very good meal
Last minute reservation that turned into an awesome experience! The drinks were strong and the atmosphere was very loud and energetic. Perfect spot for a late night meal on a Saturday night. The food was amazing from appetizer to dessert. Worth every dollar!
Downtown Louie's is a inviting room with great food and service.
Overall our experience was outstanding. The location is great and the ambiance of the restaurant is great. We were promptly greeted and seated and our server made great suggestions for wine and food choices. My only criticism was that the filet was slightly overcooked from my medium rare request and for $39 was on the thin and small size but still very good. The potatoes that came with were outstanding. We'd definitely recommend and will certainly return.
Great food, fun atmosphere
Waitress was a little rude at first
We had a good experience. However the menu on open table is not accurate. Our waitress told us it was 3-4 years old. Burger on the online menu was$10 but it was actually $14. The online menu is more extensive then the actual one. My husband’s fish and chips were $26. Overpriced but good. The wait staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
This place was okay...the biggest detractor was price. The cocktails were way overpriced for an establishment like this, and the food was good, but nothing I could not have made at home...and certainly not worth the amount they charged.
