Downtown Louie's Ratings and Reviews
Delicious food, beautiful interior and great service in downtown Detroit!
Service was wonderful. Hannah was a great waitress. There was a hair in the food which ruined the experience.
Great burger. Apps were good. Service done well. Nice atmosphere.
In for late New Year’s Eve dinner. Food, service, and atmosphere were great
The atmosphere along with the food was very good. We went there for NYE dinner and we were seated right away even though our reservation was a hour later. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for those in the area. Also, my meal was missing something and the manager made it right with the kitchen. Very pleased with the service.
This is our third visit. Food is unique, and very yummy!
Great, good food, excellent service.
NYE Pick with our 2 children for an early dinner...food was very good and atmosphere was nice, warm and cozy!
Great place for lunch and dinner. Our service was quick and he knew the menu and drinks well. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be a returning customer!
After Christmas dinner with friends. Was pretty empty when we arrived around 6:45 for our 7pm reservation. It did fill up later in the evening. Appetizers and food was very good. We shared the Meze meat/cheeses board and it was plenty for our group of 5. Dinners came out right as we finished the apps, everyone enjoyed their choice (a couple of seafood pastas, bistro steak, and a fish and chips)
The Salmon is the best that I’ve ever had. The brussel sprouts are also delicious.
Service was horrific. Our waiter seemed to have no idea what he was doing and stopped at our table once every 30 minutes...when he knew we had a show to get to. We asked to cash out when our dinner arrived anticipating the bill to take at least another 20 minutes. The food and the wine were delicious, so I'd definitely give this place another try...with a different waiter!
Great food and service
We appreciated that Louie’s took our reservation on a very busy evening in Detroit, when other restaurants would not do so.
We arrived and it was a small line but once i told the host we had reservations we were sat immediately. The ambiance was very nice.. it had a modern day great Gatsby feel. Let’s get To the meal i had the steak with garlic butter and herb fries, my date had the roasted chicken with asparagus and whipped garlic potatoes. I had 2 glasses of moscato 😋 it was chilled and delicious. No dessert. My date did receive ice cold potato’s and it did take a long time for them to bring him a bowl of potatoes but other than that i will be back.
Best charcuterie plate ever.
I found this restaurant because it was listed as close to The Fox theater. It was definitely within walking distance to the theater and we were very impressed by the look of the restaurant. Well the inside was just as well done as the outside and the food was very good. Our service was excellent and we were checked on several times to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We truly enjoyed the dining experience and will visit Downtown Louie's again when we're in the area.
Excellent meal with attentive service. We enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner.
Wonderful Detroit gem perfect for our two-couple (sans kids) anniversary dinner. Warm atmosphere and delicious food.
Lamb burger was charred on the outside. salads were great. apps great. staff great.
We love Downtown Louie's...great service and atmosphere and very good food!
Food was Good Host was late getting are Table, then he forgot we were in the Bar area gave are Table Away he was just Scattered Brained not Impressed
We tried Downtown Louie’s on a recommendation from a friend. It was a delightful experience. Really nice people to start with. I loved the menu and the food was great. It is lively, so a bit noisy, but no problem because the booth made conversation easy. The price was great. Overall a wonderful place.
Great service and great food at a great place. Loved it and heading back tomorrow.
Very nice place, clean, and interesting menu
The restaurant was beautiful. It was comfortable and cozy, yet they still managed to have TVs around for sports without feeling like a sports bar. Staff was friendly. The service was slow which was fine, didn’t make you feel rushed. The food was amazing, well cooked and delicious. I had the 7oz bistro steak and it was probably one of the best steak I have ever had.
The only recommendation I would have is to have bread basket for the table. Since service is slow having a small bread basket would have been nice while enjoying our drinks waiting for food. But overall I enjoyed downtown Louie’s and would recommend it.
I only have one con, i tried to call the restaurant to let them know we were going to be late and they only have an automated voicemail. That was frustrating. But the waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly and the food was delicious!!! The drink menu was fun and the prices were what we expected.
We went with friends before the theater. The food was outstanding. Three of us had the Bistro steak and it was delicious, seasoned beautifully Nd you could cut it with a butter knife. My husband has the short rib.. he devoured it. Excellent wine recommendation and overall a great meal and a nice surprise. We will definitely come back.
Excellent menu and quality of food. Always attentive
My husband and I came to Detroit for an event and had to pick a dinner spot for the one night we were there. This looked like a well-reviewed, cozy place right in the downtown area, so we made a reservation. Unfortunately, we were re-seated twice because of staff miscommunication, the food was nothing special, and our bill was wrong and had to be corrected. Maybe it was just a fluke, but I still don't think we'll go back.
I usually don't leave reviews but we were in Detroit for a show and gave Downtown Louie's a shot and it was delicious! Best filet I have had in a very long time. Our server was very nice and paid good attention to us without being overbearing. I would definitely recommend this spot!
Despite the fact that Open Table did NOT have a reservation for us we were able to get seated. The first table was quite noisy and we could not converse; we moved to another table and had a delightful meal.
First timers this weekend. Outstanding service and creative cocktails. Great food. We had oysters (outstanding), steak bites (super yummy), mac and cheese (to.die.for) and short ribs (very tasty).
Great food. Steak was great. So was the pasta!
Food was fantastic, ambiance was perfect, close to the Fox theater, little pricy but was worth it!
Downtown Louies has consistently good food! We always enjoy eating there!
Very nice ambiance. Nicer than the pictures online. Great food. I had the short rib sandwich and tomato soup.
First time there was pleasantly suprised, will be back again soon.
Had a table ready for us when we showed up for our reservation. Good Service! Food was good adequate portions as well.
Really nice place to go before a show at the Fox. Inside is cozy, pretty, kind of upscale bar decor. Brussel sprouts and whitefish spread were good appetizers, the lamb burger is very good, especially with the yogurt sauce. Our table shared the brownie and deep fried oreos for dessert, both were good but I thought the oreos were something special.
