On this, The restaurants original site, Doyles on the Beach opened Australia's first seafood restaurant in 1885. We have been family owned and operated for over 5 generations. The restaurant internationally famous and a mecca for Sydneysiders and tourists alike, offering a stunning range of fresh seafood for lunch and dinner, 7 days a week. We had a lovely lunch, the wait staff were friendly and helpful. I don't even eat seafood and my lunch was wonderful! I would highly recommend the food, ambience and location for any type of occasion.

The food was lovely, Barramundi and chips, well presented and cooked, portion size ok, price at $49.90 has to make it the most expensive fish and chips anywhere in the world. We were upstairs, nice view, table service was ok, got the desert menu and then no one came to take an order, asked once and still no one came so we left and paid the bill.
I first went to Doyles in 1988, then it had a real quaint feel about it, very personal service, prices then were expensive, but not to todays level. Now I am afraid the experience feels more like a corporate restaurant, it has lost the quaintness- maybe it was inevitable and a victim of its own original success. Sadly I probably won't be back as there are better seafood alternatives in Darling Harbour.

We were greeted warmly and professionally with water being offered upon being seated. After ordering both food and drinks, the food arrived after approx. 10 minutes followed shortly by drinks. We all agreed that the fish we each had was superb and the chips were lovely. Service throughout was excellent and the waiter interacted with us with manners and humour. We enjoyed our experience and our friends from England were very impressed indeed. Congratulations.

Note for WENDY DOYLE re PAM AYRES: We had the most fantastic meal on Thursday lunchtime. The weather was great, we had a prime table at the front, and the food was as good as ever. We have been coming to Doyles since 1978, and it was a special occasion to be back there with our two sons, now both well in their 30s, who had come with us as toddlers years ago!

In a party of 8 diners everyone’s meal was fantastic, we all tried different meals and no one was disappointed, the service was 100% with super friendly staff and the setting overlooking the water was glorious. Fully recommend this restaurant and staff. Well done for a very enjoyable night.

Doyles is a proven and reliable venue with mostly excellent staff and a great setting/ambience. Doyles is able to accommodate most weather events and circumstances. The seafood is excellent.

Every time we visit Sydney, Australia we make a point of dining at Dolyles in Watsons Bay and, most recently, on 02 March 2020. Again, we were not disappointed. The food and service is excellent and we would strongly recommend this venue to any travellers. We can't wait for a further opportunity to once again visit this idyllic eatery.

It was great.My wife and I took her mother for lunch.Came by boat so what else could you ask for?

It is a great location, we had a lobster that was superb.

I have been coming for 50 years (nearly) and the seafood there has always been great.

Food was good, wine was ridiculous prices, $18 for a glass, and even that was smaller than usual. Staff were excellent friendly and efficient, We went on a Thursday, not too busy and quieter than weekends.

But thought the prices for food were over the top especially as the serving size was small and chips very poor taste Food quality otherwise very good

Ambience was magnificent as is the location

Meal was great, staff were exceptional. We had the hot and cold seafood platter. We were disappointed the lobster mornay was no longer on the platter, but the platter was still great. We come twice a year and have the same every time. Haven't found a platter as good anywhere else yet.

Expected Doyles to provide excellent fish dishes which they certainly did. What makes Doyles exceptional is the small attention to detail by there staff. A throughly enjoyable Sunday lunch at a restaurant I would throughly recommend.
