Spectacular view of the water from our seat. Service was amazing. We came a bit early and they accommodated us immediately. The food was decent not great, I’ve have had more zesty Shrimp lobster po’boys. Amazing local lavender vodka cocktail! I will always come back here when visiting pec.
Was great to sit on deck
Would highly recommend this restaurant
Absolutely the worse service ever, waitress forgot about us and didn’t ever come back with our food until we asked an hour and a half later
Great food with a beautiful setting. Service was excellent.
The view was fair, but the food was disappointing. With a nice waterfront view whilst providing access to a beach, they are serving food that doesn't match the atmosphere, let alone the quality of the food itself.
First, my wife ordered a burger. The meat was hard to chew and was full of ligaments and had no spices. It was accompanied with a salad that had no taste and had some old lettuce leaves. Also we had to ask for utensils as the waiter forgot to bring them. Also, I ordered the fish and chips. The fish had no spices not even salt. The batter was soggy.
We were very disappointed as we expected better service and better food.
Had to park off site and walk. Parking full. Seems to be for hotel guests only. Beautiful location but seem to give the better tables to young people. We were a family of 4 with an 8 year old and 11 year old and they would not give us a table by the water. You cannot reserve a specific table online and we were told we could not have a table by the water as they were reserved. Repeatedly saw groups coming in after us requesting table by water and getting their request granted. Manager was NOT helpful. Had to wait a long time for him. I'm sure he made us wait until we ordered so we could no longer leave. Hard to hold off on ordering with 2 hungry children. Food was ok. Not much of a children's menu. 15$ for child burger, 22 for Adult. Nothing special. Had NO deserts left. Beer was warm. Reservation for 2 and did not get food until after 3pm. Will not be returning. Very disappointed. There are many other restaurants on the water in the area. Will try them next time.
Only issues were a crying baby and people deciding to eat and walk around with no shoes.
Food and service were great.
The atmosphere was gorgeous, the view of the lake and the sunset was amazing. We didn’t have the greatest service, our one waiter was really good - he was very attentive and funny. The other staff were okay...
The service was quite slow and took an hour to receive any food. We ordered salads, guac and chips for appetizers. When our mains came, my friends burger was completely raw inside. The wait staff was surprised. No manager came over but they comped her meal and our appetizers. I heard so many great reviews about this place but Our experience made it pretty average. We expected so much more.
Very nice spot and nice view but very average food and limited menu. I was expecting a little more upscale.
I love the Drake! Yesterday we were pretty chilly in the shade and asked the hostess for the table next to us in the sun and we were told that they were not allowing table switches but could seat us inside. (so not table switches outside??) She then proceeded to wipe down the table we wanted that took about a 30 seconds. Not sure why an extra 30 seconds could not be given to out table once we moved.
Other than that our waiter was wonderful and the food was great. We had the mussels, fish and chips and the seafood on a bun(sorry can't remember the name) The mussels were excellent and fresh and the fish and chips delicious. The seafood buns was ok but I would not order it again. I guess I was expecting warm and it was cold. Not that it wouldn't be good to someone just my personal taste.
Hope this helps!
We had heard that the Drake Devonshire was the place to go in PEC. The location and view on the water was good. However, the service lacked greatly. Because of Covid, all reservations were made far in advance. So basically the restaurant knew how many people were coming. It took over half an hour to get 6 oysters and they were not very fresh. We eat a lot of oysters and definitely can tell when they’re not their freshest. As for the meal, it took over an hour to be served! We had ordered a burger and a lobster roll. We saw other tables waiting for over an hour as well! The food was good but not exceptional. The decor outside was average, nothing that would justify the high prices.
I booked the outside corner bar！ But they gave another table！
Great food, and outstanding setting on the shores of Lake Ontario!
The drake Devonshire is my favourite restaurant in Prince Edward County. The view from the patio is absolutely beautiful. The food is wonderful....I’ve never had a bad meal.
I recommend it to anyone who plans to visit The County.
It’s always an amazing experience.
Beautiful back patio, strong wine list appropriate for its location, poor menu.
The gazpacho was excellent, but the rest of the offerings were mere pub fare. I was hoping to see more inspired choices, putting the 'fine' in fine dining. I understand the necessity for a smaller menu these days, but that's no reason for repetition with what all other restaurants in Wellington, and really, the entire county are offering. How about a pasta? Something vegetarian that isn't yet another burger? How about anything that req's me to use some cutlery?
It was ok- unfortunately they were out of oysters and guacamole and we were hoping for appetizers!
Great place to eat. Food is excellent and view is very relaxing. Highly recommended.
Fun cocktails for a celebration. I had the steak frites. The steak was tasty, maybe a little chewy. Gravy would have been nice but they don’t serve it. They offered fancy fries but I don’t think it really made a difference to the taste of the fries basically a small sprinkling of cheese that got lost in the deep fried goodness. My husband had fish and chips. The tartar sauce turned out to be an ok substitute for gravy, so we ordered extra. There were packages of ketchup and salt/pepper so why not provide gravy? The smashed peas were weird. Mushy peas are known to go with fish and chips- those were not mushy peas. Malt vinegar should accompany this dish. Wouldn’t order the steak or fish and chips again. 37$+tax and grat for the steak I was honestly disappointed no veg either except a piece of Swiss chard that’s meant for presentation. Probably safer with a burger or the lobster roll.
Sitting by the lake was very enjoyable. Nice breeze and friendly staff. Background music was a bit annoying, Some kind of droning euro techno stuff. sorry Drake but it’s true🤷🏻♀️ I would probably go back with my daughters if they wanted to, but generally not for middle aged empty nesters.
Lovely patio. Ambiance was fantastic for summer viewing. Food as very good but expensive. Great experience
Incredible views and tasty food awaits you, but the degree of care that Drake Devonshire has taken to address Covid 19 made it the perfect experience.
A beautiful spot to enjoy the view of Lake Ontario and have a nice meal.
Beautiful views and terrific food. Plates are very large so great for the price.
Would definitely recommend for lunch I have not been for dinner
Wonderful food, gorgeous patio. We’ll be back!
Awesome time! The Drake did a great job of practicing social distancing and having safe measures in place. Food was incredible! Will definitely be back
Wonderful patio meal
OverLooking the lake.
Service was right on, beer was cold!
Beautiful place, superbe view, nice patio, attention to details, outstanding service but ordinary food. The menu is quite limited. The guacamole was excellent. The fish & chips was not what would have been expected in such a nice place. The flank steak was ordinairy. Chips were delicious. Would I go back? For a drink and starters, yes. For a whole meal, I do not consider it was worth the price.
Came here for breakfast. Beans and potatoes disappointed. The potatoes were not as described and were beyond dull. Sadly. The light fluffy pancakes and incredible rhubarb compote made up for it though! Great job at infusing a little bit of South Beach in Ontario.
The burgers at the Drake are the best. Seriously, the best. And the shrimp and lobster rolls were pretty spectacular too!
Beautiful views, amazing food and perfect ambiance. I recommend this location for anyone interested in fresh food and drinks and a perfect view. Definitely try the blueberry scones, they were a favourite with our group. Also COVID protocols were in placed and social distancing seating was in effect. They did a great job at making us feel safe.
We were disappointed in the food this time and kind of shocked because it has always been so amazing in the past! The cocktails were still beautiful and delicious but the food was not their usual standard; the bun of the lobster roll was hard and felt a few days old and the lobster was overpowered by too much dill. Great fries but very small portion of mussels with the moules frites - so small that my child was still hungry after eating! I’d recommend it for the scenery but no longer for the food.
Sat on their outdoor patio. The restaurant and patio lake view is lovely and the staff were very friendly. They had many precautionary measures in place due to covid and staff did a good job explaining what was in place for everyone’s safety. We enjoyed a great meal and had drinks during our visit.
Dinner menu more limited as compared to previous years, with noticeable reduction in quality. I hope things are remedied!
Brunch still good.
Save yourself some major disappointed and skip this horrible experience. Food sub-par and service horrid.
We always return as it never disappoints!Love sitting by the water and enjoying good eats and drinks!
We sat on the patio; the view simply cannot be beat. The drinks were absolutely next level (do try the county lavender lemonade)! Our server was outstanding, very personable, paying attention to us and our needs. The food was delightful, although the oysters could have been shucked a wee bit better. We highly recommend this place, and we will go out of our way to go back.
The setting was beautiful! Patio was spaced according to recommended guidelines and servers were constantly cleaning. The menu was very limited, no vegan options but they were able to put together a dish for us.
