Our exciting menu features farm and lake to table cuisine, paired with outstanding Prince Edward County wine from one of the regions wineries. The Drake cocktail program is in full swing, with a lineup of old classics as well as newly shaken libations invented by our mixologists. According to the New York Times “Everyone and everything looks good and smells good.” Around every corner is art: murals, installations, sculptures.
IT WAS LOVELY. A+ and keagan is the best server ever
Everything about our experience was very much enjoyable, the live music after 8pm was a very nice touch and we were easily convinced to stay for another drink after our dinner.
The Drake was the last stop on our weekend getaway, and it seems we saved the best for last. Great ambiance, excellent service, and amazing food. We both had the Drake Breakfast. We’d ordered the Blueberry Scones to start, and unfortunately they arrived just before the main dish- so they comped them for us. We didn’t even ask, or complain! Which shows the excellent level of service being provided. Would definitely recommend.
The food was lacklustre at best and wildly under seasoned. Very overpriced given how poor the food was!
Service was slow but not terrible.
I had booked this place a month in advance for a birthday. I even remarked in the reservation that it was a birthday, but...
We were running late, so called ahead to let them know... but it didn't matter, we lost our reservation and instead they sat us at the bar. The reason given was that each table is allotted two hours for dinner and they didn't want us to feel rushed. Our reservation was at 7:30, and when we left at 9:15 -- there were still lots of open tables. So either the Maitre'D didn't know the rhythms of the crowd very well... or well, I don't know.
The food was good and fine, but I don't know if it speaks well for a restaurant when the highlight of the evening was the cocktail. $24 for a burger and fries is always laughable though.
The dining experience overall I'd say makes it clear too that if you're not a guest of the hotel you're a second class guest.
Prince Edward County has lots of great restaurants, I'd recommend trying out one of the other great places for food and skipping this over priced place.
Not what we expected!
The restaurant is way more casual than we expected, you don’t need to dress up. The food is good with big portions. The service was so so... the view is amazing if you can have a table by the windows. It was a bit noisy to our taste.
We ended up having breakfast, lunch and dinner there during our stay and we loved all three meals. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!
Veggie burger with lettuce wrap leaves something to be desired.
Evening was fantastic ! We were celebrating my wife's 55th Birthday that evening . Reception at front desk was very cordial . Our greeter took our coats and hung them , then proceeded to escort us to our table . View was absolutely breathtaking as the waves crashed onto the shoreline . Our server was excellent . He offered valuable insight into the culinary offering for the evening . Choice of appetizer, entre and dessert were outstanding ! Will certainly recommend this dining experience to all of our friends ! Thanks for a wonderful evening Drake Devonshire !
Beautiful setting, our table was right infront of their large picture window so we sat looking out at the icy water. It was the perfect time to try the restuarant, only 3 or 4 other tables were filled at the time. Our food was delicious and the service was warm and prompt. We shared the fried chicken and waffles, roasted potatoes and brisket tostadas. I would absolutely return on a summer afternoon and enjoy their beautiful patio. The decor is bright, artsy and comfortable. You will not be disappointed with this experience.
Lovely lakeside location. Imaginative menu. Pleasant young staff. A happy experience !!
Artwork, decor, ambiance, service, and cocktails were incredible! Food was good (risotto was undercooked), but great flavours were there. Will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the patio!
Beautiful view and great service from the moment you step in. Food was very good.
The food options are all heavy. The menu needs refreshing it has been the same for over a year. We are fans and bring people here all the time but the menu needs to have some new items- keeping some of the old but surprising with new fresh options.
Great for lunch. Service was great. Can be noisy when busy.
Perfect place to celebrate your anniversary!
first visit, service started off a little slow but the bartender was awesome. Definitely going back
Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you!
We’ve been coming to the Drake for years and have always enjoyed our dining experiences. Tonight was no exception, we love the Drake Devonshire!!
We enjoyed our night at the Drake overall. I was not aware that there would be no seating, and that it was more of a party/cocktail setting. Nevertheless, the food and drinks were excellent!!
The decor and view was lovely. The food was cold and was not as good as expected.
I had the veggie burger and not impressed. It was not like a burger at all. But everything else seemed great!
Just popped in for drinks and a burger. It was nice as per the norm. Fantastic view.
Great brunch with friends visiting the area
In an area known for outstanding restaurants the Drake delivers, but also seems to have a reputation that it rests on.
Our first time at the Drake Devonshire did not disappoint! We spent our mini honeymoon in the county and made sure we carved out some time for the highly recommended Drake Devonshire. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by warm, friendly staff, the most romantic atmosphere, and plenty of surprises to make us feel special. The food and wine were absolutely to die for! Highly recommend and we cannot wait to come back!
We were on our way to a wedding and had lunch here. Excellent food and service! The view of the lake for November with waves rolling in was spectacular.
I will return in the summer to try to get a seat in the patio.
Quality food and presentation. Excellent service and professional yet with an absolute attention to every detail with the perfect balance of warmth and niceness...something restaurants either fall on the far end of nice which is phoney or inappropriate to dismissive and inattentive. They hit the mark on attentiveness without being annoying...well trained and standard across staff.
My daughter and I had a lovely evening at the Drake Devonshire last Friday. The food was great and the service was excellent. Will definitely return
Relaxed, attentive, timely service and great menu. Nice setting on the lake’s day very conveniently located in town close to shops, galleries, and accommodation.
Food good except that it was very cold which spoiled it. Service corrected it.
We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we enjoyed a beautiful, quiet, and charming brunch. The food was delicious and our service was great.
After finally getting the chance to dine at the Drake Devonshire this past weekend, I have to admit I have mixed reviews. I made a reservation almost a month prior for a table for six. When we arrived, our table was ready, but it was way off to the side, completely out of the main dining area. For a group of ladies getting together to enjoy a good meal in the county, this was very disappointing - especially given our long standing reservation. We ordered the countylicious special, which was quite delicious and included a good variety of food choices. However, upon ordering, some of our party ordered a specific dessert - with no apparent issues. When dessert time came around, we were told there were no more of that dessert left - this was disappointing, given we had ordered it initially and it was countylicious which includes there dessert choices - to run out of one of three on a Saturday night seems like poor planning. Though service was fine, we were never asked if we wanted another beverage throughout the meal. I expected more from this establishment. I am wiling to try again, but when someone has a reservation for six a month ahead, give them a great table. Thank you.
Overpriced to be missing the mark on food. Half dozen oysters for $23 and two were inedible because of a lousy shuck. If I wanted a rock sandwich Is ask my son to cater.
Awesome place. The view is outstanding. Food is good. They have to work on their drink or hired a bartender. We live close and enjoy this place. Ambiance is great, staff is friendly. The Drake have a little something special ❤️
Thanks for making our anniversary so special. Darren was amazing.
Beautiful ambiance and setting. Food took a long time. Food was good, but not as good as expected or we had heard about. Brussel sprouts were excellent! I think it was too expensive for what it was. The meat portion was very small.
Service was too slow, and bacon was poor. Lovely place overall, but wasn’t up to Drake standards based on previous experiences at all their restaurants.
Hey Katie! Thank you for your attention to detail!
Have been before and really enjoyed it. But this time it felt very impersonal, very Toronto in PEC rather than letting the county vibe be front and centre. Our server was very distant and uninterested and didn’t give us a sense of excitement about the food or wine. Won’t go again on future trips and will focus on the restaurants that feel like they are part of the community.
